Crazy watching this 6 years ago thinking “this was it” of pushing standards for bass and that there was nothing else can be topped. But I like that this was kind of the origin/influence that pushed a lot of groups to split unbelievable stuff within a span of 6 years.
Then Cavies 2018 went wild with a mega lazer. Then RCC 2020 pushed the envelope way further with weird partial splits. Then X went insane with bass duets the past few years. And now every bass line in the top 10 is just plain dumb. Would run marathons around any #1 bass line from 6 years ago
The fact that this is so damn clean. People were trying fun splits but it never sounded good. Shoes in the dryer. When you realize it can be this clean you step things up.
Crazy throw back. I was there and I remember hearing this. The angle doesn’t do it justice this lot was basically what propelled lot riot as a whole 🤣 a massive loop formed like 15 rows deep it was nuts
Snares and toms might be the most flashy instruments on the drumline, but bass drums are surprisingly difficult when you consider having to time seperatw notes across 5 different players. I sure as hell miss playing them, though ❤
@@tharii314it's a practice in drumline land so the entire line can attack at the same time. Kind of like saying "one, two, ready, go" but they say "dut" so it's articulate. It ensures everyone is on the same page and their first note is clean
@@tharii314 you're welcome! I linked a video called "the art of the dut" so you can get a way better idea of the concept since it's from the drummers POV. A really fun thing in drumline land lol ruclips.net/video/mn1SaIT9SrM/видео.html
tiyenin In the bass drumming world, those are called “hand to hands”. Both bass 1 and 2 are playing alternating sticking, but bass 2 is playing in between each of the notes that the top bass plays.
@Ryandal Gilmore how is it fucked up, splits weren't implemented into drum core marching as much back then. its not as impressive today seeing as they're everywhere now, but at the time it was pretty cool.

@@thenelsonbruhs722 RCC 2020 is a bassline I’ll never forget. Pushing the envelope from crazy splits to crazy good unisons.
@@ericm9407 yeah I’m really sad wgi 2020 didn’t happen. I wanted to watch RCC bass in the lot so badly

Basses have evolved so much because this is the standard for big world class basslines now

When I was a piano player, I looked at this and thought this was easy.
When I actually saw how this is done, nope, this is hard.
Bass 2 going off
man i mean i have to say that was pretty badass. we had an okay bassline when i played bass in high school but shit, this was wild
It went from OoOOOoHhhh to AAAHHSGAGGAVAGA
I literally screamed, WHAT IS THIS, THIS IS INSANE
Insane coordination. That is some Borg hive mind sh*t right there.

Someone needs to do drone video so we can see the stick work on both sides
Infinity on top 🔥🔥🔥
Does anyone know how to fix the weird buzzing bass 3 makes? My school's 22' makes the same noise and we can't figure out how to fix it
IRL, do you hear the difference in pitches ? With my computer, it does not soud great.
Yes, you can hear the resonance a lot more irl
Oh yah. You’d feel. It’s something else.
