- This video is from Atlanta Quest’s 2023 Bassline and I tried to transcribe it as best as I could. The original video isn’t mine, but the transcription is.

Really humbled to have someone transcribe this. You're a real one. Btw I'm bass 1 and I wrote this along with the rest of BAQ😊
Whoa!!! I don’t even know what to say! I found the video of you guys jamming out with this exercise and I was just hooked with watching it over and over, so I thought it would be interesting to try and transcribe it. It’s really cool that I have the people in this video watching it, I’m a big fan 😂
🔥
Ay tell big wil I love him -Mathew
bass 1 🔛🔝
this writing is just simply tasteful 🤌
So cool! It's got groove and chops. Nicely done.
BAQ has seen this and says close attempt! 8/10
Sweet! This was my first transcription I’ve done so that’s pretty good!
Great work man
This is so damn funky I love it
“Chops or grooves?”
“Yes.”
the 4 and 5 5-let hand to hand thing makes me want to do unspeakable things. it's so freaking good!
No one’s doing it like this!
Yooo another one from the line! Respect!
The goat!!!!!!
Wow, that was some good drumming!
0:35 DAYUM
The + of count 3 in measure 18 should be bottom bass, not top but aside from that it’s a great transcription
makes me miss being in drumline
God damn home team
whenever this video comes up in my feed i watch it lol
The met kind groovy 😄
1:27 I believed I would never hear anything like that 5-let.
Bass 1 - B
Bass 2 - Ab
Bass 3 - E
Bass 4 - B
Bass 5 - E
lets call it a G#
@@ben_iveyno:(
@@RudimentalNico What chord are they tuned to?
@@ben_ivey oh you’re right, I’m just a flat fanboy for life
@@RudimentalNico I think you could argue that G# and Ab are two different notes too LOL
1:19 "wut"
Nice dresses
phat
the buzz roll gave me PERMANENT STANK FACE
fire
This is so sick
Something about measure 32-39 that really tickles my brain
Is writing the bass parts (5,4,3,2,1) out A-C-E-G-B instead of F-A-C-E-G what is done these days?
Honestly based on preference or what group you’re with/where you come from but its just the same thing. I personally prefer bass 5 or bottom bass (excluding 6-person lines) to be in the F space on the staff and not below the staff so that’s how I wrote it in the transcription. I would say that I’ve seen more 5 person bass writing with 5 being in the F space in west coast writing compared to an east coast line, with 5 under the staff in the D space, but really it just matters who is writing and their preferences
@@e_little I was confused a bit by what you were saying, but then I realized you were speaking in treble clef.
@Inspadave yeah lol I was wondering why it made sense in bass clef and you used the ACEGB lol but its all good
@Inspadave main idea tho is that both are used, just depends on where you from and the preferences of whoever is writing the music
@@e_little I thought maybe it was some new school thing like basses facing the audience/lot lizards with their right side instead of the left as was common in my time.
Death Grips is online.
what type bass mallets are those????
bass'd
Worked very fast
Funky bass groove!
you didn't mark the muted notes
ANGERY
Oops
@@e_little it’s ight
All that effort just to be inaudible against the rest of the band
0:35 Imagine playing a unison so poorly that some kid thinks its a buhguhduh HOLY
it’s just a buzz on bass 1 chill out lol
i’ve watched that about 20 times and i deadass cannot figure out what you’re calling a dirty unison
Yeah my bad it was kinda trippy to listen to, its not on them tho its on me with the transcription
And it wasn’t a unison, it was a split, I just didnt get it right
@@e_little ye ye i wasn’t taking shots at baq i thought it was clean but some people be perfectionists apparently
