This video literally was the thing that taught me how to play hand to hands in my highschool indoor show. It was soo badass cuz i hit the split at every show and it was the ending
HOW TO PRACTICE HAND TO HANDS ALONE (if you don't have a splitting partner available) 1: Watch this video. 2: Record yourself playing the downs on a practice pad (idk if a drum will work but i don't see why not) 3: WEAR HEADPHONES/EARBUDS and listen to your video of you playing the downs. 4: Adjust your volume so the "you" in your ears, is the same or a similar volume to the "you" playing in person. Use the same practice pad as in the recording, this will help you hear the hand to hand effectively. 5: Practice as directed in the video. Reps, reps, reps. 6: Profit If you execute the rudiment well enough, you can hear the hand to hand almost as good as if you had a splitting partner there with you. Also I'm sure this also works for split singles and other splits.
Just discovered this video/channel and it is fantastic. I'm so glad this channel exists... KEEP IT COMING!!!!!!! The golden age of bass drum is finally here and this is only going to make it even better. Thank you so much for all of this!!!
This video has been so helpful for me!!! I've been trying to figure out how to do hand to hands for what seems like forever and have quite been able to get it
I don’t understand why I can’t “drive through” the upbeats when I can play the downbeats just fine. I know it’s probably because I’m thinking of every beat individually, but when I’m not thinking of it that way, I start rushing. What do I do?
Visiting old vids... The earliest hand-to-hands I remember seeing in performance were BD 96 (drums 1 and 2, maybe two counts total) and Glassmen 95's bass feature. Both were single hands, though, not LLRR etc.
i dont know why but i cant fucking figure this out. i dont know how i'm supposed to be able to hear when i come in successfully on the second sextuplet partial and if i do manage to get it, my mind tries to realign what i'm playing to what i'm hearing because it sounds dirty. can someone please help me out?

I love these videos. Could you teach how to split fivelets and/or sevenlets next? Those are tricky
Do the exact same thing, but with a 5let or 7let...

I'm bass 1 as a sophomore, this really helped me since I was Front Ensemble last year, so I don't really know sextuplets, I appreciate it man

Can Morgan Freeman start narrating these videos ?
I was doing this back in 1994 nothing is new under the sun
Does it really matter? There are still new bass players needing this information
I'm slow still a little confused with the up beats
Split bass drums go way further back than the 2000's
Your sticks sound like factory rejects :(
nice
