- Dodge Charger Hellcat police chase - The Hellcat has 707hp which seems to be to much for law enforcement & state troopers to catch in their Charger Pursuits making around 300 to 375hp. Hellcat SRT & Redeyes are very fast street cars & are proving to be difficult for local police & state troopers to catch. In this video we check out some Hellcat police chases where they get away from cops & troopers.
Make sure to check out the "Undefeated Charger" which is a modified Charger R/T 5.7L 345 V8 Hemi after you watch this hellcat chase video. The Undefeated Charger is still the champ of police chases with a combination of good driving skills & fast Charger.

I'd think even 392 equipped vehicles could out muscle most law enforcement vehicles in a pursuit , not just Hell Cats.
392 can separate pretty easily from a police pursuit esp on an open HWY
ScatPacks apparently will run side by side with Hellcats up to 80-100 MPH......

These cars are a magnet for cops when I got pulled over last week, they were just waiting for me to takeoff and today I had one follow me all the way home from the highway just waiting for me to do something. I think the cops really enjoy chasing these cars.😂
I think they enjoy the chase as well. Pretty sure that's why they last so long. Most of them know they have no shot at catching these rides on some open road
They always follow me and wave tbh lol they dont rly care much in illinois/indiana. They wont even chase ya 95% of the time lol

Heck RTLife back in the 70’s I had a charger with the 440 magnum/727 torqueflite trans that was an absolute beast. If I remember right that car would literally be traveling across Interstate 5 in Oceanside sideways. Would have to shut her down have way across so it would line up with the sharp exit stage left at the end of the bridge. Got harassed every day by locals and state po po .
It must suck as Law Enforcement when drivers get away but imagine it's the same driver over and over. Allow me to introduce the *Undefeated 5.7L Charger!* 😭🤣

You can tell the first cop didn't want the smoke he knew he couldn't catch him. Good for him to make a smart decision not to risk his life and the lives of others. I have a custom made package in my car that allows me to flip my plate and cut the brake lights off without losing my headlights for night pursuit. That's why I appreciate cops who know when they're beat
Back in 83' I had a 71' Challenger with a 383 c.i. with an aftermarket Edelbrock manifold with two 750 Holley double pumpers. It was every bit as fast as the Hellcat 392s.700hp. Also swapped the rear end for a low ratio Dana. Never once got caught. Top end was near 195mph with a high flow fuel pump and ported heads with a Crane cam. God how I miss that car now.
that first chase is what started this police vs mopar videos lol. i know youre a dodge guy but that modded c7 smoking a cop was hilarious and that 5th gen camaro pulling away from ASP at 150 was major impressive. that v6 camaro escaping to memphis that driver had big ass balls.

Ya know it's interesting for me to watch these. I was pulled over a couple years ago. I was on my way to work. Just irritated most likely with a Prius in the left lane, because they think it's funny apparently. I jump over two lanes, and pass the whole lot of em. I go from 65ish to 155 in a big hurry. I get to my exit and start around the bend. I thought to myself in an instant, " huh, that's weird, there's a Ford Explorer comin in hot". And yes, it was at that moment he knew he f*cked up. The lights came on and while making the curve, I just pointed that I was pulling over and so I did. I ain't out-running a cop in the city, and didn't plan to. Wreckless Op and speed 100+ was the ticket. Ended up having to hire a ticket lawyer, since I got a 90 in a 55 3 days prior. He got me down from the pending 10 points to 2 point. Cost me 2 grand. I don't speed like I used to LOL.
hahaha - speeding is a quick way to give up a lot of $$$. Glad you got it down to only 2 points. Sucks that there isn't really anywhere outside of the few drag strips left to go anymore for a little speed & fun. Atco just closed - which was where everyone went for their dream pass

I lost a trooper charger easy. I had less than 3 years driving experience honestly. Bout a year of street racing and driving all over the state made me one hell of a driver lol
If you know the roads & can handle HP - you have a good chance of getting away. Seems like most of these cops really can't drive & 370hp @150mph top speed isn't going to give them much of a chance.
Cutting up / street racing come in handy it’s not all about the HP it’s about the skills in hand I can move in and out at blank it’s about timing and knowing your car and limits

Also, back in the day, most pursuit policies were if you lost sight of the vehicle the pursuit was terminated. Not like today, where they chase a ghost for 50 miles and finally concede defeat.
Awesome R/T Life《☆》I bought a 2014 Charger Pursuit HEMI car a couple of months ago. It looks like the plastic tray under the engine was torn off somehow. Fortunately no damage to the oil pan or crossmember. It's no slouch. It's got a posi track axle & it hooks & goes like a rocket👍🤠☮️
Police cars did not come with engine covers.

I would like to modify my Challenger but I have to get my Charger back. My hands are tied with modding until I get that Charger back. Unfortunately I don't have my family anymore as a safety net if anything goes wrong or modding takes to long with my car.

On a side note, what are your thoughts pertaining to the recent closing of Atco Dragway? Another one bites the dust. Guess my timing of JUST ( 10 days ago) buying a Challenger 1320 just before my local track closes is damn depressing.
I knew it was coming. Pretty sure back in 2020 they were saying it only has a couple of seasons left - just not enough people show up for it to be very profitable (yearly). Down south they're open all year so it helps keep them in business

If it's a pursuit car you need something like a Hellcat for sure. If it's a regular squad, well then... It can be as easy as a solid driver with good knowledge of the car and area. Sometimes just that solid driver and the approx. 1000 lb weight difference.
it's just to much Hp gap. Driver skills certainly play a role but man that hp difference helps so much

@@TA_Plus_Hemi back in the mid 70’s I had a seriously built r/t charger that’d infuriate the local pd. 1968 and built to the gills. 727 torque flite trans. Tough as nails and impossible to beat most days.
One thing is that the higher HP cars can create the gap to get away quickly. The lower HP cars can still get away but it just takes longer. Plus we don’t burn through the fuel as fast as a Hellcat will. Running out of gas when trying to smoke a squad will really suck! LOL

I wonder if a modified RT can out run a police cruiser. I’ve seen scat packs and hellcats run but not much RTs. Sure there was that video of the modified RT running but what mods does it take to get an RT to out run a cruiser? I’m suspecting just adding a blower might increase your chances but does other mods do the same?

5.7L w/ Cam & long tube will separate pretty quick from a Police Pursuit. The gains in real world are drastic
Not much 😅 the gains are pretty nice with some bolt ons and a pedal box. I can keep up with scats in a 2012 RT never tried to run but I feel pretty confident 😅

I’ve evaded a state trooper in my Passat 😂 I was taking a exit I seen him pull up behind me I jumped back on the highway put some distance between us thanks to traffic and took the next exit and was gone thankfully the “chase” was probably less than 5 minutes long.

Talked to a FHP once about their Charger. Was joking about trading him for my scat for the day. He told me he only had a 3.6. I said, "at least its AWD, right?" - He said, "Nah..." - Later found out from a Mechanic an undercover had a 5.7... but the state only authorizes "Regular Gas" but they won't pay for the additional tuning required to make the 5.7 run efficiently on Regular 87 Gasoline vs Mid Grade. It's kind of funny...
