      but but your favorite big ass corporation can't sell you another one in 1 year because your megahard ultimate elite series 69 EXTREME controller which costed you 420$ broke down after 1 year and 42 minutes which is actually out of the warranty window.
      I've also ordered the 8bitdo ultimate BT controller and am looking forward to use it.
      Had a Gulikit KKP2 but despite the astonishing build quality I was very disappointed with the slowmo 100hz polling rate. I returned it.
      this controller was very much top notch and would score a 10/10 in my book if it had that 4ms or less response time like the 8bitdo.

      The fact the Dualsense Edge still has regular potentiometer sticks is pathetic. Anyone who would buy a controller at that price is going to use it heavily, so those sticks are only gonna last a few months at best. And them being easily replaceable is good, but buying more sticks really shouldn't be the solution. Hoping that someone makes hall sticks that are easy enough to put in modern controllers

  • @Joshuazhang447
    @Joshuazhang447 Год назад +48

    Hello there Kevin, thanks for reviewing this controller
    I have a little bit more information regarding this controller.
    First of all, the warranty is only 1 year with this controller and within 180 days, they would replace your controller instead of fixing it.
    Second: The software aka the driver for this controller is still being developed, there's currently a testing version shared in their community, however it is super buggy and not recommended, the proper release should come out at the end of this month.
    Third: They are also making a dock, it will be sold at around 10 - 20 USD, however, the release date for it is currently unknown.
    Fourth: There are currently some issues with quality control with this controller, some units shipped have uncalibrated joysticks which require manual calibration, for example, the one you reviewed actually has this problem, the controller should have an exact 0.3% circularity, however, what you have is 0.4%, which won't be noticeable in gameplay, but it is still recommended to calibrate the joysticks or get a replacement.
    Fifth: The price for this controller is actually 199 CNY (28 USD), selling it for 60 USD is very much unreasonable, in fact, from what I've heard, there will be a sale soon, at around June 18th, which the controller will be heavily discounted.
    That's all, once again thanks for the review.

      For 28$ that is one hell of a deal, but at 60$ it is competing with the 8bitdo Ultimate and I don't think it can match it in quality, functionality, or software. The 8bitdo also comes with a dock. So I do hope they lower the price pretty quick, because a 30$ controller with Hall effect sticks is a game changer for sure

    late to the party but this is by far my favorite controller on the market right now. I'd love to see you review the G6, as I think that's the only thing it could compete against.
    The complaints (hard press back buttons, bad d-pad), for some reason I love it. The d-pad is excellent for my personal use, mostly cause it's a great size (Razer and FlyDigi d-pad is wayy too big.) The back buttons needing a harder press is a plus for me cause they're there when I need it, but that extra pressure is great cause I can't accidentally click it like the PowerA Fusion 3, even the Elite 2/Edge are way to easy to actuate. I don't see a difference between these and say the Scuf Instinct back buttons.
    Cosmetically this is my favorite bar none. Etc etc etc, I really really like this one, the mechanical buttons, the shape, the stick/trigger tension is the best for my personal use. After this, I feel comfortable not purchasing another controller for awhile.

I personally love the aesthetics of the g5 bcs that detachable frosted faceplate is just OOOh so sexy. But I also heard the 8bitdo ult was more worth it since it comes with a dock to charge it too, and I love the aesthetics of that one as well. Simple, and lights on home button and dock only. I use the one on mine quite a bit in Trackmania when I need instant steering and I really just care about the clicky-ness for two directions (left and right). Given the things you said in the vid it would probably be around the same, right?

    I feel like the G6 is not necessarily an upgrade to this (I own one). For one, the G6's latency is a mess, no rgb lights, no dedicated software (it says on their lazada page that it has a software), most importantly the sticks on the G6 is tuned really weirdly, the left thumbstick is a square, yes a square not a circle and the right side is a normal circle. Although there is a firmware where this is fixed the downside of using that firmware is that it is an outdated one.
    If you ever get the chance to review the G6 please do I would also love your thoughts on it.

  • @RurouTube
    @RurouTube 10 месяцев назад

    I wish someone make a controller where you can easily replace (as in no soldering required) the joystick (the actual mechanical stick, not the cap), and the buttons. Obviously with membrane buttons you can easily replace that, but mechanical buttons are usually soldered thus hopefully for mechanical button, some company will use optical button because I don't know if it is because of the climate, but normal mechanical button on my mouse wear out quickly (basically developing double click within less than a year). As for the stick, even with hall effect stick, the spring part can wear out (basically you can end up having problem with centering unless you increase the dead zone), thus either you can easily replace the spring or the entire stick. Actually, if the stick is easily replaceable, I don't mind buying non hall effect stick. Dualsense Edge style is good, but a bit overkill for me since I don't mind opening a gamepad, thus I prefer the replacement stick to be as cheap as possible.
    Having said that, I probably won't buy a new gamepad anytime soon (currently have 5 perfectly working controller + several controllers with stick and button problems). I want to buy the standard PS5 stick (for playing those PS5 games on PC so I can enjoy the haptics and adaptive triggers), but I have the same relationship with those pot stick as I have with mouse switches, basically it wears quickly even when not in use! I'm really tempted to buy Edge, but it is a bit out of my budget which I can justify if not for the fact that replacement stick cost a lot (I can buy a perfectly good controller for the same price as a single stick module).

    Hey there really love your in-depth videos about Controllers and have a request for the hopefully foreseeable future. I am relatively finicky with peripherals in general and recently bought the wolverine v2 pro, even though it has offset joysticks (something i normally avoid).
    Unfortunately there is a huge problem with those, sometimes this model just doesn't recognize button presses or freezes during button presses and continues to perform the action long after button release. Because of that i have been very invested with research lately and have seen a bunch of your videos too. And apparently there is a flydigi vader 3 on the horizon that's already out in china but not for the rest of the world. Apparently it's already sold out in china too. And after my research i feel like that controller could be a competitive beast if it lives up to the hype. Hall effect joystick, magnetic trigger, tactile buttons among other things sound too good to be true. I am a bit worried about the backpaddles, but i am curious if you can get your hand on it and review it. Thanks for your time reading and thanks for the awesome content 👍

    Nice to see more controllers with hall effect sticks. It should be a standard feature on every new controller going forward, unless the makers are assholes. That said, I don't see much reason to buy this particular controller with the massively superior Flydigi Vader 3 coming out soon.

    Cool wall, it means I have to ask Gamer Heaven friend's counsel- is it better than the Vader 3 Pro for PC gaming (I plan to play Shenmue the father of open-world game, the first open-world games) focusing on leveling up Ryo's martial arts skills (still the deepend game mechanics after 26 years outside of dedicated fighting games). What is your favorite controller for PC gaming if it's okt to ask?
    God bless.

    Thanks for honest straight review. Im retired living in Philippines and years since ive played my kids Ps3/4 and Wi. Currently getting into Skyrim via Steam on PC. I bought Machenike wired controller and its terrible as far as thumb pad response which makes navigating my little elf avitar in any kind of confrontation a nightmare. Even simple tasks like moving my curser on map is rediculous awkward overcompensating my movement.
    It was very cheap so I cant expect much. My question is 2 fold. Im playing on my laptop I3 . Does the PC matter in game performance? What is a good controller (similar to the easy accuracy) of my old PS4 controller?
    Thanks ✌️

      Update for anyone else who may have this going on. Seems to be some kind of bluetooth issue. Wired and 2.4 are totally fine. Looks like the pc software is coming sometime in Aug, so hopefully that comes with a firmware/driver that squashes this.
      100% agree with GH, the d-pad isn't great and the rear buttons are complete poo. But damn, it's sexy, feels good in hand, and those clicky face buttons are surprisingly nice. Also, that removable faceplate is hecka convenient for scrubbing this thing down after some shweaty gaming.

    whys is everyone keep saying drift proof, you can still brake/ware the joystick gyro out, and 2 you can place the controller new a strong magnet or speaker for x amount of time and permanently change the hall effect magnets strength range causing it to drift.

    • @kevrosbane
      @kevrosbane Год назад

      @@GamerHeavenOfficial yes but magnets by them self's will end up losing strength over time, as for a magnet being near u all you need is a hydro pole near the front of a house the front room being the place the controller is store and a pole capacitor exploding as the do from time to time the electro magnetic shock wave from one of these is usaly enough you see that with dream cast and original ps3 controllers. im not saying that people will do dumb stuff im just stating people keep saying never will happen its not a never its a when and why.

    • @kevrosbane

      @@Marcheziora the only garbage take is stating that it wont, its like people saying shoes are water proof when there is a water resistant coating on them that wares out after a year. its a mater of when and how.

    @gamer heaven can you or anyone else please share which PC options with hall effect sensors (and back buttons) that are better than this?
    I tried the 8BitDo Ultimate pro and had frequent disconnection issues (well documented by many people in the r/Controller sub reddit), that product was widely hyped by most tech tubers which was disappointing.
    The Gulikit King Kong Pro 2 is also widely popular witj the xbox shape and hall stick, people have reported QC issues, massive input lag and mushy buttons as the big issues with that device.
    So here i am still on a standard xbox one controller for windows but am getting stick drift.
    I really need an option and this g5 or the g6 look pretty great so far compared to the Gulikit and 8bitdo offerings.
