@@snip_king428 I’m in good company then! Someone suggested to squeeze the magazine on the sides next time and then the baseplate will come out easier. Lessons learned for next time.

Sometimes I wonder if the haters have even shot the G42 enough to warrant the opinions they happily spew out online. Most of the reservations I’ve heard from people is that the .380 caliber isn’t good enough for self defense, which I personally disagree with. @@ShortStackSurvival hey if they can’t shoot they should just say that lol I trust my self with a 380 shot placement all that matter but I still keep a back up just in case. but for what this gun is made to be for SMALL and concealable it get a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me perfect for this heat 🏜️🏝️
@@hailsatan6227 I totally agree, the G42 is really good for what it was intended for. People who believe they are 100% concealing these full size pistols should video themselves walking around, reaching, bending over, just doing normal everyday stuff. Big guns print really bad, small ones not so much.
Yes they have! No issues thus far with hundreds of rounds through them. I don’t baby my magazines either, when I reload I just let them fall to the ground.
Reliability is great, I’ve had zero issues with the vickers extended magazines and I’ve put about 500 rounds through them. The value is incredible - $12 to increase your capacity and improve accuracy with the extended grip. Highly recommend my friend! Great info and DIY video! Love the determination, intense music score and 2hour notification… I was actually craving popcorn. 😉 Keep the videos coming, Short Stack!
In the very beginning, during the first few hundred rounds of the pistol break-in, I was having some failure to feed issues. This was not due to any particular magazine, it occurred with the oem and the vickers equally.
@@DG-nb6fe yeah the price is really good! I think you’ll really like the extended magazine for capacity and grip. Good luck getting the baseplates off, lol I struggled big time as you can see in the video!
Haha thank you. It was an epic battle between the will of gun gal and that of an inanimate magazine, I think we know who triumphed in the end despite the initial struggles. :)
Hey - what brand IWB holster do you use for the 42? I’m trying to find something different for myself and always ask when I see someone using one. Thanks!
Currently I am using one that was given to me by a friend, a very basic Kydex. I just ordered a new light bearing one (to accommodate my stream light TLR-6) from Havok Holsters. The model I ordered is called the Valkyrie and I can’t wait to try it out. I usually prefer to carry at the 3 o’clock IWB position but they also do appendix and OWB carry holsters if you prefer. They can also do custom stuff as well and have really fun Kydex prints and patterns. Definitely recommend checking them out! havokholsters.com/product/valkyrie/
@@ShortStackSurvival Great Review! Did you get the G43 TLR holster? I ask because I just went to the site and there is no g42 listed. I'm guessing since the 42 and 43 are similar it could be used for both.
@@petersuarez651 I bought the G42 specific one. It’s been a while, but I believe I had to reach out to the company to get it made. Dang that's crazy how small that gun is. No way I would be able to handle it. Cool accessory for sure though. Nothing worse then getting Glock Blocked 😂😂
Well could be worse, your AR dried out and sized up. Anything with springs is a pain. If you like gun repair look at Mark Novak on you tube. Personally, not a fan of Glocks, some people get excited and hit the well to early and shoot then selves and discharge rounds when they shouldn't.
Yes I agree springs are a pain. I personally prefer Smith & Wesson M&P pistols, which is what I was issued in the WA State Patrol. I purchased the Glock 42 because I had a lot of request to do reviews on it. Honestly, Glocks are great guns and ultimately to each their own. There is a different flavor of gun out there for everyone.
Thank you for the video 👍🏻👍🏻

Lol, did it in less than a minutes, crap happens though, lol
It's fun
Haha well not all of us are so gifted. I love tinkering with guns and gear but I definitely ride the struggle bus from time to time.
@@ShortStackSurvival I also will say, I've done it to 43x and 19, and that's when the struggle was real, lol 😂

You have to squeeze the mags when taking off the baseplate, firm squeeze it comes right off when pulling that baseplate.

Does the Vickers spring have more length and tension than the original 6 round mag spring? Hopefully so.
Yes, the the replacement spring is longer but I’m not sure about the tension. Either way, it has worked flawlessly for me!

Put the clip in the gun, then use the tool to remove the bottom plate. You'll have a better handle on the gun and the bottom plate will come off.
