Dasani actually left the UK market do to billing issues. The UK government told Dasani that the UK Government required government agents to be on the board of CEOs and to be paid insane stupid amounts to just sell it in the UK and Dasani told the UK government fuck that we are not selling our stuff in your country. Pepsi was also removed do to the same bullshit. Many companies removed their products from the UK do to that same bullshit. The UK government is actually insane with how much control they have over people's lives yet people who live in the UK are kind of too stupid to call them out on the bullshit. In the UK all media is government controlled 100% meaning the government has to be agree to what the media tells the citizens of the UK. In the UK its punishable by death to say anything negative about the government even if that negative is a truthful fact its punishable by at least 10 years in prison to life or even death if the government choses that outcome. In the UK your defense attorney is chosen by the government and not you. In the UK the government controls all functions of money including the banks and well you are not paid by the company you work for but instead you are paid by the government. So yea taxes are not told to the people of the UK because the government controls all prices.
This game was the closest thing to a sequel that we will ever get.

Regarding the game not telling you about the Pumpkin King form, it actually does bring it up in the cutscene after Jack saves Sally from the giant spider, where Jack remembers that he is the Pumpkin King, and he gets the idea to use his "Pumpkin Fire" to fight Oogie's Army, which unlocks the new form afterwards. Plus, there should've been some small tutorials in the chapter after the spider boss that popped up when you press the select button, all of which tell you what the Pumpkin King can do.
Not to mention how it beats you over the head with tutorial prompts.

They did with Simpsons hit and run, but I think that may be like the only game they did that with.

I mean it always gets recognition.
This was a terrific game. It actually had a legit creepy vibe sometimes. I liked that Oogie stepped up his game to become a legit threat to all of the holiday worlds and he was legit terrifying in the final battle, Ken Page held nothing back. The expansion and exploration of Halloweentown and the cast’s roles in it was cool. The monsters were cool and intimidating. The art design was great. And the soundtrack was great too. Filthy Finale is an amazing remix of Oogie’s Song, once again largely thanks to Ken Page really proving he can do more than be the goofy villain most people know Oogie as. Even Lock (RIP Paul Reubens), Shock, and Barrel are fun threats this time.
There’s a chapter where you have to find the vampire brothers and it’s very, very quiet whenever you’re not in combat. Super creepy music and night has fallen. It was honestly so scary to young me that it took a while to gather my courage to complete it.
I've been playing this game again recently and it still blows my mind how much detail and exploration there is throughout all of Halloween Town!
If u have this game I recommend grinding coins to level up the Soul Robber early on, when you get Santa Jack use the Pumpkin Shield present often 'cause there will be annoying obstacles and enemies like gargoyles and skeletons shooting their heads at you.
hell yeah! I used to have this on ps2 but unfortunately never got to finish it, another good tip here is to do the spin move coz you can attract coins, music notes, etc

I love the idea of revisiting this again at Christmas time! Also, me personally, I see this mostly as a Halloween movie, since 75% of the action takes place in Halloween Town. But it's the perfect segway movie between Halloween and the holiday season!

I’m glad that people are bringing to attention to this game. I remember RebelTaxi’s awful review of it from years ago where many of his criticisms about the gameplay was him not knowing how to actually play the game. Like him saying you have to walk over to each music note in boss battles when in reality, Jack’s twirl attack will draw them in automatically.

@@Invidente7 is that the very end with like 500 enemies? I think I spent more time grinding to beat that level than any other game I've ever played 🥲 it was SO HARD.
The weapon jack uses in this reminds me of those sticky hand things you would get from those Gacha machines in restraints and malls.

What's cool is Capcom made this game, and it's really funny cause Jack's arm thing is basically the same thing as Nero's devil bringer from Devil May Cry 4 which came out a couple years later.
Btw the Exclamation Marks, since you were wondering-
You get these marks from sneaking up & scaring enemies, and it fazes them for a second acts like a stun. You have to surprise them to get the marks though- like from behind, or turning around to face them right when they're behind you. at least that's what I remember 🎃😊
It's called 'taunting', and apparently it makes them even stronger;
From the internet: "If you don't want to spend the time charging your weapon attacks, you can also "taunt" your foes by pressing one of the directional buttons while near them. If you're successful, they'll sprout angry exclamation points over their heads and become even stronger."

This game Is truly an underrated gem and deserves more then a remastered edition and a newer game title. Hey, The Grinch got a recent game of this year, I don't see why not give this series the exact same treatment.

I really wish you the best during this time. My grandmother and I were this way with Holes as she had it on dvd and it was my favorite movie as a child. If you need more Nightmare before Christmas stuff while healing, I’d recommend the book about Sally called The Pumpkin Queen. I know it’s not much but maybe it could help you out more during this time. Also, the movie is in theaters rn for the 30th anniversary! :)

The fact that Oogie sings a song while you fight him is such a logical bit of stage business that I'm surprised I don't see it more often. Off the top of my head there's the Great Mighty Poo, but I feel like bosses having a song that progresses during the fight should be something tried more often
No, the game does explain stuff to you, you just need to press select when Zero is in the bottom left.
I remember renting this game and finding out the hard way that not ALL Xbox games were backwards compatible on the 360 :(
On the spooky (and surprisingly good) theme, I played the Muppet Monster Adventure game with my best friend in college on his Playstation and we loved it. There are a couple lines from it that we still quote to this day, lol.

I love the storyline of the game of Oogie being brought back by Lock , Shock and Barrel and becoming 7 Holidays King. It really adds more character to Oogie, Lock, Shock and Barrel.

I totally forgot about this game! I had it as a kid on the original Xbox and remembered loving it!
It's a Halloween movie. Read the DVD blurb. Jack gets board of repetition and decides to 'borrow' the traditions of another holiday. He ONLY goes through the Christmas door(Literally) because he's mesmerized by the shiny ornaments on it. Would it be an easter movie if he went through the egg door? Or a feel good thanks giving movie if he went through the turkey door? Or maybe a sobering St. Patrick's day movie if he went through the shamrock door?No. He ONLY 'borrows' the traditions of the other holiday because he's bored and depressed from repetition in Halloween. Once Halloween gets reinvigorated in his mind after a sleigh crash, he's right back as he was intended without a second thought. It's quite literally a Halloween movie with a Christmas arc. Just as the PS2 game demonstrates for a second time. Fun fact; The PS2 game 'Oogie's revenge' is the canon sequel to the movie. That's a rare and wonderful thing not often if ever repeated nowadays.

Before Frozen, Nightmare Before Christmas was my all-time favorite movie, and I wanted a video game on it soooooo bad! Before this closest thing we had was Kingdom Hearts (which still remains my favorite video game franchise to this day) so, you can imagine my excitement when this game came out! I absolutely love this game! I still have it and I play it every October, just finished it again about a week ago. I love the soundtrack, I listen to that on my phone every October too!😊 I also managed to get S-Rank on every single level so, you can see how many hours I put into this game over the last 20 years. To say I LOVE this game would be an understatement! I would absolutely love it if you guys finish the game at Christmastime! Please don't leave this one unfinished.🙏

Genuinely my favourite game as a kid.
The ! count is a stun mechanic. Down on the d-pad did a small area stun and if you stun an enemy enough they upgrade into the neon version (stronger and more coins)
