A fourth-grade teacher has gone viral for her curves and it has us wondering: Do we oversexualize women’s bodies? Should there be a dress code for teachers?
I wonder what happen to her afterwards I’m sure her school didn’t care what she was wearing until she went viral did they approach her about what she’s wearing did she change her work attire did she decide to quit being a teacher or did she get fired because of this I could imagine what people be saying to her when they see her now
I had a friend who was in grad school and teaching one semester. After class some older guy approached her telling her the way to erase the chalk board because she was shaking her butt too much. She was in pants and a shirt. I think, if people are going to look, they’re going to look no matter what. Teach students and adults to be respectful and pay attention. Her dress wasn’t super short and her shoulders were covered. I don’t see the big deal in what she was wearing
Honestly every damn year up to her being a legal adult... Malia & even Sasha has been scrutinized over the SMALLEST things just because their father was the president..we need to remember they are YOUNG GIRLS who although they are under a small lense, they are good girls and are simply trying to live as normal as a life as they could and can even though their father is in the world of politics! It infuriates me when the first children are expected to live up to some standard when one they didn’t ask to be here nor did they ask to be on lockdown or be judged for every little thing! LET THEM BE!

Let's be real here, the dress code was made to punish anyone who isn't 5'5 and under/ skinny. If you have any resemblance of a curve or long legs all of sudden there are rules. I got dress coded back to back b/c I'm 5'10" and all leg so I would wear a knee length skirt & they would suspend me. Yet, I've seen short girls wear mini skirts & shorts and they're allowed to go about their business.
There's literally no way to hide her curves. What is she supposed to do, wear baggy clothes every day? Wear clothes twice her size to cover her body? If that was the case people would complain she's dressed sloppily. This is a case of oversexualizing a womans body. She's in a dress that ends right above her knees. Everything is covered. There's no problem here. Next.

Excatly! I can relate. I have to wear baggy clothes but then look tomboyish. If she were to wear fitted light color pants like beige. Her curvy body is going to still stand out and show her behind when she writes on that board like Tamera said. There’s no way to hide it! If I know teenage boys, they will do exactly that. Even though they might not get “crazy” they still know this women has curves and is wearing a body con dress.
I think there are males above the age of 25 that might go crazy over that body in that dress, and teenage boys who have parents who monitor their internet browsing that are just as innocent as teenage boys have always been seeing that and feeling excited (girls too). I don't think there is anything wrong with the dress in terms of usual dress code for schools - it hits the knee, no cleavage, sleeves...the strappy high-heels are weird for a teacher to wear but whatever. It's up to the school to make a dress code for their teachers. It looks like she teaches elementary school so I don't know why teenage boys are being pulled into it (I'm not from the US so I don't know what grade you guys stop putting the ABCs up on the wall haha).
We also have to consider the home life of the teen. It may not be her body it may be a misunderstanding that has him trying to be the center of attention in class.
I can understand what Tam said, and on some small level i can agree-like maybe if she wore a cardigan over the dress MAYBE it wouldn't have been as big of a deal, but honestly as a female that is really curvy, the body type does matter! When i was in high school i remember getting sent home to change my clothes or being told to put on a jacket or oversized top when i was just wearing a fitted t-shirt. I could have on the exact same outfit as a girl in my class that was less curvy and no one would say anything to the other student, but i would get talked too-- so yes, i do believe that if the teacher was a bit more on the straight/boxy body type no matter if she had on a cardi or not, it wouldn't have raised many eyebrows tbh
I agree with Tamera. I do think curvy girls get criticized more for what they wear normally, but this is a school. Body con dresses are just not professional. She did cover her skin, but it is skin tight as body con dresses normally are. You normally wear them at clubs or bars. A skinny girl with less curves would also be criticized for wearing that.
Save yourself the headrache! Bodycon dresses don't belong in school. When I wore mine to work (which is at a school) I had a sweater, cardigan or jacket over it and still got the eye from some teachers.
Its not that her outfit is too revealing, but the look was not professional ,looked more like a date outfit, maybe if she had thrown a blazzer over it it would not have caused any controversy

Y’all are wild. I’m an education major and would never think of wearing a body con tight styled dress. It’s not appropriate. Not because of her body, but because like Tamera said there is a time and place. The teacher is absolutely stunning and obviously can’t do anything about how her body looks, but she doesn’t have to wear an outfit that is like a second skin in front of a class of children.

I’m sorry I’ve had some women teachers if anything it is not a teacher’s fault if a student looks at them in a different light whether it’s based on what they wear or don’t wear... there are some students who just have crushes on their teachers and truly can’t focus and not because of their body but just because of their good looks/beauty and thats innocent... but it happens! Now I think instead of telling people how to dress , we should talk to the children on what’s not appropriate when it comes to the eye and actions of one that likes what they see...

However i can see why they parents would think that it is inappropriate because we’ve had this conversation many times on this show.... , certain jobs live up to a certain stature & you have to represent what the school is all about ! I really question certain things when I see incidents like this happen... because something VERY serious and dangerous could’ve happened in that ballroom... like health & safety concerns should be number one priority before touching that dance floor... if I see someone with a “ Anti Lochte” shirt on I’m turning them away cuz that gives me an idea that something is doomed to happen especially knowing he as on the show at the time... that was ridiculous! And even if you disagree with someone... it is not that deep to bum rush them on stage!
I must say that this is something I have experienced so much. I believe that pictures are innocent as long as they are nonactivity -. Meaning that if you are just in a pose alone then that is innocent. I work out so every so often I will take a picture of me in my bra and panties. I will post the pictures on my Facebook page for comments on whether or not my workout is being effective. I believe that no matter what you wear or what type of picture it is there are some people who are going to attack you based on jealousy, and vindictive or deceitful motives in order to bring down someone especially the person in the photo self-esteem. I personally have had the same problem posing in a picture with a dress, blouses and etc... I know that I have a nice body and when you have a nice body then people should be able to recognize it without jealousy or being vindictive. There is nothing wrong with going a compliment and then leaving it alone. Once it is left alone then others will leave it alone.
I was told growing up that I look exactly like Malia. I got to go on a trip to New Orleans and celebrated my 21st birthday on Bourbon Street. As we were walking down the street, people asked if I was Malia. I thought about saying yes, but then I remembered how people gave her crap for being at parties and I didn't want to be responsible for any more hate coming her way.
It's apples and oranges. Bikinis are acceptable attire on a beach. If a teacher showed up in a bikini, parents would be rightfully upset, just like if a male teacher showed up in a speedo. They could be amazing teachers. That is unrelated to the clothing issue.

Tamera is being unrealistic here, like Adrienne stated this is part of the reason grown man can't keep a certain level of professionalism when they interact with attractive women they must be taught young to control themselves. The problem would be if that women would be dressed in something truly inappropriate but in this case having a healthy body shouldn't be villainized and seen as something that must be hidden.

It's apples and oranges. Bikinis are acceptable attire on a beach. If a teacher showed up in a bikini, parents would be rightfully upset, just like if a male teacher showed up in a speedo. They could be amazing teachers. That is unrelated to the clothing issue.
@London A male teacher CANNOT teach without a shirt in the United States. Parents and students would definitely complain. That would be very weird...

Tamera is being unrealistic here, like Adrienne stated this is part of the reason grown man can't keep a certain level of professionalism when they interact with attractive women they must be taught young to control themselves. The problem would be if that women would be dressed in something truly inappropriate but in this case having a healthy body shouldn't be villainized and seen as something that must be hidden.
