I've used these a couple of times over 20 years. Saved my butt. I remember the supply outfit guy saying "they're not guaranteed to work every time", which I took to mean 'be really careful'. First one was a 4" sanitary line, and thank the spirits it worked great. Worth every penny even for a single use.

Thanks for sharing this really nifty tool! I've seen other videos on youtube showing how they use fire, hot guns or cut the inside pipe. This is the best method. I just ordered this tool. Let's hope it works well.
I can't even count how many times I could have used that too!
EDIT: I just ordered through your link. Got the 11/2" and the inside cutter.
Excellent review! I did not know a PVC valve could be "opened up" and fixed. Thanks for sharing.
That's a great tool. I didn't know they made them. Thanks for sharing.
retrorestore You bet!
thank for sharing your knowledge , what may work is if the ball valve is leaking from the stem in some cases ,operate the valve a slightly and over extend the travel while tapping with a rubber mallet
Thanks for the demo. I'm an amateur who works as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. I get into all kinds of situations working on new houses and rehabs. Great technique to have in my arsenal.
kdbergin you could easily heat it up with a torch but if it's a sewer pipe put a wet rag down the pipe first heat the pipe inside and pull out with pliers. Or cut slits in it with a hacksaw blade and use a thin flathead screw driver and remove like that as well I do it at least once a week
mind blown!!! did not know they make these!
Awesome video. Thanks for putting it together.
You're a natural. Keep it up.
don't they make one in 3/4"? I'd like to use it to ream out a 3/4" t so I can slip it on my supply line in a tight space so i dont have to bend the old pvc lines too much.
good vid. fyi its mandatory to primer and glue the pipe AND the fitting.
my new 1.5" ram bit seems so dull. it seemed like it burned its way through... maybe I should file it some?
Great tool and thank you for including the link. I follow all your videos. Has anyone ever mentioned that you're voice sounds exactly as the mechanic on the TV show "Wings"?
Ushi Ellis sounds exactly like that guy for sure lol
Great show=Thanks for sharing~!
Good video!
Thank u for making this video
Do they make this tool for 90mm and 100mm pipe?

Hi! Great-Informative video.
Q?: Is this tool available in size 1 1/16". Any info will help and be very much appreciated. I'm trying to convert the inside diameter of a 3/4" pvc pipe to 1 1/16".
Thank you in advance!
?
How is the shaver better than a reamer?
Whats the name of this tool?..ive been looking everywhere for it
Will this remove an internal 4" toilet flange in 4" Schedule 40 pvc pipe?
No because it is the OD size of sch 40.
Great video thank u very much
Glad you enjoyed it
What about the taper? That's part of what makes the joint solvent weld.
Same here! I broke a pipe trying to unscrew it from my skimmer. I didn't know it was glued and now I'm screwed.
Does it CUT or does it MELT its way through?
You can see the shavings. It is a cutting tool.
Were did you buy that tool
You can click the link in the description it will take you to the tool. Just make sure you get the right size for your pipes or get all 3 Thanks.

That works and so does a torch. Just heat the inside and the glue will come loose.
Torch seems like it could be overkill? I use a heat gun. Just took an old fitting off a sewer line in a hairy location to bring it up to code and relocate toilet. Saved a lot of time and hassle by not cutting all the way back to the stack.
@@kingalthe1st160 It was a small propane torch. Worked great !
Ive havent seen your videos
What’s the tool called
Ram bit
I wish i lived 20 minutes from a big box store. I have an hour drive to 2 home depots.
@@rootvalley2 I know, they make more profit on fittings
20 gage metal
You need a click bit title for this video so people stop setting their homes on fire. Maybe "most ridiculous PVC rescue".
