bad games that made everything worse...

- There is just some games that are probably better of not released and actually sometimes those games kill their franchise or at least put it into limbo for a long time.

Nah, youve gotta rerecord those clips with "Fallout: Blood Dragon" to the correct "Far Cry: Blood Dragon. You cant just edit over that 😂
I was listening to this while I was falling asleep, and was like, wait am I crazy? Lol
I’m sure they kept it as a joke , it did make me laugh tbh😂
I was driving when I heard this and I was like....wait what.
Nah, just record yourself (or someone else) saying “Far Cry” & then paste that over every instance you said “Fallout” & done!
blood dragon is the best far cry change my mind
Game Mills is the funniest name for the company that keeps shitting out low quality games 😂
Game abattoir is more apt
Oops, I found the intellectual. You must be fun at parties. @@WheezyShotta
@@fshoaps i’m great at parties, I got all the big words. :)
They're the LJN of the modern era.
The heir of Team 6.
Anthem had so much hype, my long standing Destiny Clan left completely for it beside me, changing the name of the clan before leaving to “Anthem will kill this.” They came back a few months later after I found a new clan and had been bullied in the Crucible on D2 for the name. So much faith, so little foresight.
You a dude
I know this is fake cause no one is paying attention to clan names in random crucible matches 😂
@@terribletimes902 I wish it were fake. It would have made a whole lot more sense and not involved the loneliest time I ever played Destiny.
In the alternate timeline, Microsoft would've given Halo to Gearbox and from the talks and rumors I've heard, I think it would've been a bigger disaster than what 343 is currently doing.
From what I’ve read that gearbox deal was for gears of war. Hell they had a gears demo made and pitched it to Microsoft but it never went anywhere
Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mass Effect: Andromeda, and at least one major expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic were all sacrificed for Anthem...and then they killed it.
Hey, at least Inquisition was good
an interesting thing about dead space 3 is that several of the controversial features like the extensive customization, environmental effects and co-op were actually features visceral wanted to be part of the dead space franchise from the beginning so it makes you wonder if the 3rd game would be looked at more positively or would the other 2 games be looked at more negatively if these controversial features were in fact part of the series from the start
I think it would have worked. I think theyre biggest issue was introducing it in the last game and not impleminting them very well
@@BigDaddyBeigepersonally I thought the multiplayer was integrated really well. Everything else though I agree
game companies are just salty and spiteful and badly want to exploit its playerbase as much as possible. the higher ups are not paid money to be better, they are paid because they are someone that have to be paid in a company.
Saints Row 2's story was actually pretty down to Earth while also in a usually whacky tone. I think the aspect of Ultor having a hand in all the gangs and profiting from the chaos they sewed in Stillwater and also having its own private military was a powerful message about real world mega corporations.
A real Saints Row reboot would try to tackle that kind of concept again.
Government and other higher powers being the thing that breeds the criminal element has been a part of most of the Grand Theft Auto series' games. Saints Row shouldn't be afraid to do it too.
It wasn't until the third's dlc that saint's row went extra balls to the walls
Halo Infinite was really hurt by being forced into being made into a "openish" world game instead of what every other mainline Halo game was, a linear mission based game. Really lost it's replayability.
I remember Guitar Hero Live for the Wii U being in Five Below for $5. At THAT price, I HAD to buy it new.
“Conker the squirrel” the disrespect 😂
39:40 since it was a topic, YES, Midoraya and All-Might were in Jump Force.
I don't know why I've suddenly seen so much Thief slander lately. The reception at the time seemed relatively positive.
On the history of Rare, a lot of the developers behind Goldeneye and the original Perfect Dark had left afterwards to form Free Radical Studio
Been loving the podcast outros, please keep em coming. It gives the video a cool two-part feel
39:24
"You know Naruto, the guy that runs like this"
"Yeah yeah yeah, the Area 51 runner"
lmao
I started watching these videos a week ago and even though I hate how long they are, I can’t stop watching even after it breaks into podcast form. But, unlike a podcast, your video still captures my full visual attention and I don’t play it in the background while doing something else.
And then my phone died right as you started talking about the Patreon haha!
Hah, yeah, they are interesting to watch
3:20 excuse-me but ME3 was NOT a good ending, at least was not a good ending for half the fan base...so much so that they HAD to make a PATCH to change some big problems with the original ending...the game is good though, really good.
I always find it absolutely hilarious that the BioWare team that was working on Anthem didn’t know what it was going to be like until the public saw the trailer for the first time 😂😂😂
Thief was bad? I just remember it being kinda mid and derivative of dishonored. I still had a fun time with it. I WAS a kid tho...
It's only considered "bad" because it is, when compared to the original trilogy, particularly the first two games.
I always watch the whole lot. I love with you start going on tangents and let your personalities flow
The only thing about Xbox I truly dislike is when they got rid of the snap feature. Snap YT, Netflix, Music, Messages, Parties, Live TV… all alongside your game. I personally loved it and cried when it was removed forever.😢
Loved the video again, really helps work go by quick ❤
the podcast part is neat, i like it as a little wrap up to the overall video and hope y'all dont change it anytime soon!
I’m glad to know there was someone else who didn’t understand how to leave Kokiri Village. Me and my younger brother got a N64 from my older brother when we were little and we didn’t understand what to do so we thought that the whole game was just running around the village
I watched the whole thing and just subbed. Love the content and the podcast recap part.
I have a theory about the kojima konami thing; konami released that horrible metal gear game because of norman reedus. I can see petty japanese execs being like "oh so you wanna do this stuff with this actor on that zombie show?" And then making a game that essentially mocks both kojima and reedus. Considering the amount of fence stabbing in the walking dead, it seems kinda obvious
The end discussion is the best part of the video, keep doing them
Just wanted to say I watched the whole video and my favorite part was when Luke said he returned guitar hero 2 on the way to the car
Love the podcast bits at the end. Keep at it!
Personally for me the #1 game that should’ve never happened is lost planet 3. LP1 and LP2 were amazing and deserve a true follow up with over the top coop and mech/kaiju fights. LP3 felt like a big slap in the face to all the LP fans and was a misuse of the IP and eventually killed it.
My favorite part of the video is the discussion portion. I always watch the whole video hear what yall discuss
I do watch these videos when can, and when I do, they’re really high quality, I try to watch these videos when I have a lot of time, keep making these videos, it’s a nice change of paste!🙂
I still remember watching Total Biscuit's review of Thief and deciding not to buy it because of him lol...
My problem with Diablo Immortal, (includes the other gripes of most people about the over monetization) is that since I had a program on my hard drive, (it's WeMod I use for SINGLE PLAYER GAMES), the program wasn't active. It doesn't even work on that game because the creators of the program are HIGHLY against cheating in multiplayer games, but since it was ON my hard drive at all, this was justification to ban my account. When I appealed and gave them reasons I thought being banned after spending more than 350 dollars on their game was wrong, they threated to lock my ENTIRE blizzard account. THAT is my problem with Diablo Immortal and Blizzard as whole!
Let's go always love a good rocket sloth video 🎉
I’m new here. Watched maybe 4 videos and subscribed. I thought the section at the end was just the norm for you guys. I dig it.
I prefer the podcast outros over a scripted repeating ending on the videos. With the way the topics are setup as discussions, the podcast outros feel like a more natural conclusion. Also really like how in these later videos both of y’all are featured in the video more evenly! Good stuff
U know he doesn't play video games the moment he said fallout: blood dragon
Didn’t expect a Uwe Boll reference but it brought back memories lol
Never seen this podcast but I had the whole vid on for my afternoon
Hey just letting you guys know i love yalls channel and i watch every upload until the end keep up the good work!
I watched the whole video, you guys are great!
I watched the whole video love you guys talking at the end
Maybe Microsoft buying a studio is the first nail in the coffin that is bad games
I love the end part with the discussion personally
I watch the whole video this podcast means the weekend is starting with a cool podcast greetings from Mexico
Ironically, if these games didn't come out. There would be videos about people wishing these games came out.
Honesty, for Halo, I'm of the mind set of just let it die. Nothing after reach came out.
i always watch through to the other section of the video the first time it was a nice surprise and its cool to have in videos
Anthem was on the Switch? 🤔 😯
That almost made me vomit. It is not
My god ☠️
I watched the whole video! You guys are great
I agree that the Kinect was damaging to the Xbox brand. I remember when people were complaining about the Kinect invading their privacy and always listening, but now everyone has cameras constantly staring at them and everything is listening to us. Our lives are no longer private and everyone is cool with it, almost like we expect it now. There’s new TVs that came with cameras and people are super excited because of the new features.
Funny how things change.
Interesting takes on your podcast segment
0:48 who the hell on earth is using their glasses like that
No one can ever convince me that overwatch 2 was anything but a shop update.
I played Andromeda a few years after it released and had fun. I think if the game got an extra 6-12 months of development, it would've been the solid B title I ended up playing. Sure, some of the companions could've used some work but I said the same about Outer Worlds because, Parvati aside, the companions were kind of meh. I remember reading how most people's favorite companion was Parvati and that's kind of when I felt vindicated in my opinion of the others. I wasn't shocked in the least to learn that a writer based the character on someone they knew.
About the only reason why I root for Game Mill is because they supported a small development studio from my country into making not one, but two platform fighters based on Nickelodeon of all things
I watched the whole video. You should make a video like this for the video game movies
I watched the whole video. Keep up the great videos.
I don’t mind the change of direction Legend of Zelda has taken, I just hope it’s not permanent. For decades, this franchise has proven itself to be willing to redefine and change direction with nearly each new entry, producing one of the most diverse franchises ever from a gameplay experience standpoint. I worry a little that the radical success they got from BOTW and TOTK might lead them to viewing the future of the franchise through a more narrow lens than they otherwise would’ve. However for now I am staying optimistic and trusting them. But if the next game in the series feels like it’s cut of the exact same cloth that the last two have been, it’ll be really disheartening to see.
I'm here for all the Uwe Boll tea☕☕☕
Jump Force is still available, my buddy and I played online a few weeks ago.
Crazy how every time on this platform creators go crazy about “the next big game” and ends up dying 4-6 months later if not earlier. Haven’t played Helldivers 2 cause I get the same vibes. Classics will always shine
A lot of people that didn’t like stealth still played MGS5, so I guess maybe they thought they could get a bigger net if they add something popular like zombies and survival.
Just so you know.. I always watch the whole video. Keep up the good work
Hard to imagine that in twenty twenty four, every major game company has followed anthems footstep
I wish hot wheels unleashed turbocharged 2 didn't exist and that they instead added the new ideas to the 1st game. And added the ability to race against bots on custom tracks.
Gat out of Hell's gameplay was bad, but the cutscenes were incredible. You can tell they actually tried with those.
In terms of Far Cry 5 and New Dawn I didn't mind those games, I enjoyed FC5 an I'm somewhat enjoying New Dawn because I played FC5 on Game Pass and New Dawn I bought for about $10, so it didn't feel like a big deal that it's a connected story.
Ahhhh The Days of Fallout Blood Dragon. Those were the days.
21:45 I can't imagine anyone being upset you want the Halo that derailed the series gone.
NGL, I honestly wish Halo Infinite didn't come out. It was the absolute first game where I 100% regretted buying it, on a pre-order no less! AND I STILL DON'T HAVE THE COSMETIC! Where's my damn skin, 343?!
I think you guys should keep the podcast part of the videos. It's original and it separates you from other similar content from the platform.
Pretty neat concept I like it.
16:42
Talking about the Kinect: the problem was FORCING THE KINECT FOR THE XBOX ONE...
That was the real issue
And yet they didn't go through with it
Tbh i actually like the podcast type part best. I wouldn’t watch it on its own bc I don’t watch podcasts but hearing the list and then hearing interesting personal stories makes it more interesting. Please keep those parts lol
I remember there was an Assassin's Creed movie, I don't remember a damn thing about it
14:42 You forgot about Agents of Mayhem. I believe that was truly the beginning of the end. 😅
Hot take but I'm glad the Kinect exists. Rally Ball from Kinect Adventures is the only thing that involved moving my body which I enjoyed, sports-wise. I also loved Kinectimals and Fantastic Pets. The former had a Halo Ghost, if I recall, and both spoke to the animal and creature lover in me. Honestly, if I had the room and a Kinect, I'd legitimately make it a part of my workout every day lol
why does this transition from video essay to podcast
22:09 Check out Halo 4: Genesong Cut
Overwatch 2 was just a cash shop update and an inventory check on players, so they could decide what skins to colorswap and charge $20 for.
I watched the whole video. I was aware of Uwe Boll and his horrible video game movies, but I was not aware he made a Far Cry movie.
There's 2 Dead Rising movies. I've seen the first one. Looked cheap but Rob Riggle was in it and it was partially filmed in Vancouver BC. There's also a Postal Movie. Humor was pretty similar to the game (mainly Postal 2)
To defend Zelda, the prequel was a Warriors game and very deep.
I'm generally indifferent toward H4 except the sweeping design changes of the covenants appearances and functionality. Also Del Rio disrespecting the hell outta chief was maaad confusing
Man, if metal gear survive would have just came out with a different name it wouldn't have near the amount of hate. I picked the game up after I watched a video essay on how the game isn't that bad and ended up really enjoying the game. There was just something fun about exploring the fog and randomly running into a Kaiju sized monster.
ALL IMMA SAY IS, I played Saints Row 2 about a year ago now for the FIRST time, and I loved it, I got so addicted to it I grinded that game to hell and back, and I still wish I could hop back on if only it wasn't a PS+ exclusive that I had, but I believe that game could easily hold up today.
Aside from a few design choices, I personally don't have a problem with Perfect Dark Zero. The over the top story I can see is an issue to many, but since it's a prequel, I'm willing to give it a pass for that.
Why did you bring up mass effect while talking about anthem randomly
GTA Online definitely killed the grand theft auto formula, it’s a lot more of whale service now, most dedicated missions don’t even have a full lobby. I don’t know if you’re talking with full experience but in no way does the GTA RP represent rockstar creating or innovating on anything new, but rather just a cash grab game company, I mean they utterly killed any support for RDR2 just to shit out more useless vehicles for the online mode
The first goated Saints Row game came out in 2006 not 2007, Saints Row 2 came out in 2008.
Redfall is the most fun you’ll ever have with friends. Shits hilarious and I’ve beat it three times for all the achievements lol despite it being a horrible game
I really want to joing the Far Cry movie watch, lmao.
Can you guys do another halo challenge? Like maybe try and finish halo 3 odst and halo reach without jumping
39:20 The fact the guy on the right pronounces these anime names weirder than I have ever heard before, and that the guy on the left takes so long to even recognize the name "Naruto" only recognizing it as "the Area 51 runner", almost warrants an unsubscription. Like, considering how big Naruto is in video games as well as manga, and how succesful his franchise has been worldwide, any nerd worth their salt should immediately recognize the names "Naruto" and "Luffy" on the same level that everyone recognizes the name Son-Goku.
Tbh, with the current path Diablo 4 is going. Diablo Immortal was only one sign of a larger problem they had. The whole thing started with Diablo 3 and their brain dead idea of a auctionhouse that totaly got not exploited to death. After that they may had the idea that if players can't do it right, why not an ingame shop? And so DI and D4 ended up with a rather dissapointing taste.
Btw was Diablo Immortal not a palet swap game? I do remember back in the days that some people figured out that the whole game is a re-hash of an older mobile game just with Diablo stuff in it for some strange reason.
The biggest issue's with Breath of the Wild and to some extent Tears is that the story has already happened. They gave up a lot of story for the open world. Botw is literally the end of the story. You get to watch the more interesting story in flashbacks. Link is more involved in Tears but even then it's the end of a story that started 10,000 years ago. Not to mention the same exact cutscene after every dungeon needed for player freedom unless they did a different one. All I say about the ending is that Link should have lost that arm to get Zelda.
Kinect was actually fun. It's just one viral Tik Tok away from the price to sky rocket.
The podcast parts of the shows are my favorite anyways lol
