Anthem had so much hype, my long standing Destiny Clan left completely for it beside me, changing the name of the clan before leaving to “Anthem will kill this.” They came back a few months later after I found a new clan and had been bullied in the Crucible on D2 for the name. So much faith, so little foresight.
In the alternate timeline, Microsoft would've given Halo to Gearbox and from the talks and rumors I've heard, I think it would've been a bigger disaster than what 343 is currently doing.
Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mass Effect: Andromeda, and at least one major expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic were all sacrificed for Anthem...and then they killed it.
EA was also to blame because they forced all of it's studios to use the Frostbite Engine, which had a massive impact on Dragon Age: Inquisitions development and the impact was even bigger for Mass Effect: Andromeda because the most experienced devs at Bioware were working on Anthem.
@@chaptermastermarneuscalgar6926 DICE being uncooperative with help requests didn't help, either: they considered Bioware to be a low priority compared to Battlefield and the various EA Sports games.
an interesting thing about dead space 3 is that several of the controversial features like the extensive customization, environmental effects and co-op were actually features visceral wanted to be part of the dead space franchise from the beginning so it makes you wonder if the 3rd game would be looked at more positively or would the other 2 games be looked at more negatively if these controversial features were in fact part of the series from the start
Saints Row 2's story was actually pretty down to Earth while also in a usually whacky tone. I think the aspect of Ultor having a hand in all the gangs and profiting from the chaos they sewed in Stillwater and also having its own private military was a powerful message about real world mega corporations. A real Saints Row reboot would try to tackle that kind of concept again. Government and other higher powers being the thing that breeds the criminal element has been a part of most of the Grand Theft Auto series' games. Saints Row shouldn't be afraid to do it too.
game companies are just salty and spiteful and badly want to exploit its playerbase as much as possible. the higher ups are not paid money to be better, they are paid because they are someone that have to be paid in a company.
Halo Infinite was really hurt by being forced into being made into a "openish" world game instead of what every other mainline Halo game was, a linear mission based game. Really lost it's replayability.
3:20 excuse-me but ME3 was NOT a good ending, at least was not a good ending for half the fan base...so much so that they HAD to make a PATCH to change some big problems with the original ending...the game is good though, really good.
I started watching these videos a week ago and even though I hate how long they are, I can’t stop watching even after it breaks into podcast form. But, unlike a podcast, your video still captures my full visual attention and I don’t play it in the background while doing something else. And then my phone died right as you started talking about the Patreon haha!
I always find it absolutely hilarious that the BioWare team that was working on Anthem didn’t know what it was going to be like until the public saw the trailer for the first time 😂😂😂
My problem with Diablo Immortal, (includes the other gripes of most people about the over monetization) is that since I had a program on my hard drive, (it's WeMod I use for SINGLE PLAYER GAMES), the program wasn't active. It doesn't even work on that game because the creators of the program are HIGHLY against cheating in multiplayer games, but since it was ON my hard drive at all, this was justification to ban my account. When I appealed and gave them reasons I thought being banned after spending more than 350 dollars on their game was wrong, they threated to lock my ENTIRE blizzard account. THAT is my problem with Diablo Immortal and Blizzard as whole!
The only thing about Xbox I truly dislike is when they got rid of the snap feature. Snap YT, Netflix, Music, Messages, Parties, Live TV… all alongside your game. I personally loved it and cried when it was removed forever.😢

I’m glad to know there was someone else who didn’t understand how to leave Kokiri Village. Me and my younger brother got a N64 from my older brother when we were little and we didn’t understand what to do so we thought that the whole game was just running around the village
Personally for me the #1 game that should’ve never happened is lost planet 3. LP1 and LP2 were amazing and deserve a true follow up with over the top coop and mech/kaiju fights. LP3 felt like a big slap in the face to all the LP fans and was a misuse of the IP and eventually killed it.

I have a theory about the kojima konami thing; konami released that horrible metal gear game because of norman reedus. I can see petty japanese execs being like "oh so you wanna do this stuff with this actor on that zombie show?" And then making a game that essentially mocks both kojima and reedus. Considering the amount of fence stabbing in the walking dead, it seems kinda obvious
I do watch these videos when can, and when I do, they’re really high quality, I try to watch these videos when I have a lot of time, keep making these videos, it’s a nice change of paste!🙂
GTA Online definitely killed the grand theft auto formula, it’s a lot more of whale service now, most dedicated missions don’t even have a full lobby. I don’t know if you’re talking with full experience but in no way does the GTA RP represent rockstar creating or innovating on anything new, but rather just a cash grab game company, I mean they utterly killed any support for RDR2 just to shit out more useless vehicles for the online mode
I agree that the Kinect was damaging to the Xbox brand. I remember when people were complaining about the Kinect invading their privacy and always listening, but now everyone has cameras constantly staring at them and everything is listening to us. Our lives are no longer private and everyone is cool with it, almost like we expect it now. There’s new TVs that came with cameras and people are super excited because of the new features. Funny how things change.
Thank you. I thought I was the only one to notice. And also thank you to the person above me @WheezyShotta because while I did come to the conclusion that the the blurred out word was Rare, I didn't know it was an automated process and assumed the editor blurred it out either just to be safe or because it was being flagged for looking too much like the other similar looking word.
The biggest issue's with Breath of the Wild and to some extent Tears is that the story has already happened. They gave up a lot of story for the open world. Botw is literally the end of the story. You get to watch the more interesting story in flashbacks. Link is more involved in Tears but even then it's the end of a story that started 10,000 years ago. Not to mention the same exact cutscene after every dungeon needed for player freedom unless they did a different one. All I say about the ending is that Link should have lost that arm to get Zelda.
Tbh i actually like the podcast type part best. I wouldn’t watch it on its own bc I don’t watch podcasts but hearing the list and then hearing interesting personal stories makes it more interesting. Please keep those parts lol
It really sucks knowing work on ME Andromeda was stopped because EA wanted to revamp Anthem, just for them to cut the revamp after a year and it being supposedly finished, or close to.
ME Andromeda was doomed from the very beginning because it was made by a group of relatively inexperienced devs that were forced to wrestle with the Frostbite Engine, they also wasted about half the games development time trying to make the planets procedurally generated only to scrap the idea when they realized it wasn't going to work.
I think you guys should keep the podcast part of the videos. It's original and it separates you from other similar content from the platform. Pretty neat concept I like it.
In terms of Far Cry 5 and New Dawn I didn't mind those games, I enjoyed FC5 an I'm somewhat enjoying New Dawn because I played FC5 on Game Pass and New Dawn I bought for about $10, so it didn't feel like a big deal that it's a connected story.
Metal Gear Survive would've been an awesome multi-player mode for MGSV. Releasing it as a standalone after an unfinished MGSV, however, made this a no-go for most fans of the series.
I played Andromeda a few years after it released and had fun. I think if the game got an extra 6-12 months of development, it would've been the solid B title I ended up playing. Sure, some of the companions could've used some work but I said the same about Outer Worlds because, Parvati aside, the companions were kind of meh. I remember reading how most people's favorite companion was Parvati and that's kind of when I felt vindicated in my opinion of the others. I wasn't shocked in the least to learn that a writer based the character on someone they knew.
Halo 4 and 5 make sense for being here, but the games honestly improved as updates came out for them. The story of Halo 5 was a crazy mess at the beginning, especially the story, but the free content updates definitely improved the quality of the game.
Crazy how every time on this platform creators go crazy about “the next big game” and ends up dying 4-6 months later if not earlier. Haven’t played Helldivers 2 cause I get the same vibes. Classics will always shine
There's 2 Dead Rising movies. I've seen the first one. Looked cheap but Rob Riggle was in it and it was partially filmed in Vancouver BC. There's also a Postal Movie. Humor was pretty similar to the game (mainly Postal 2)
About the only reason why I root for Game Mill is because they supported a small development studio from my country into making not one, but two platform fighters based on Nickelodeon of all things
ALL IMMA SAY IS, I played Saints Row 2 about a year ago now for the FIRST time, and I loved it, I got so addicted to it I grinded that game to hell and back, and I still wish I could hop back on if only it wasn't a PS+ exclusive that I had, but I believe that game could easily hold up today.
39:20 The fact the guy on the right pronounces these anime names weirder than I have ever heard before, and that the guy on the left takes so long to even recognize the name "Naruto" only recognizing it as "the Area 51 runner", almost warrants an unsubscription. Hot take but I'm glad the Kinect exists. Rally Ball from Kinect Adventures is the only thing that involved moving my body which I enjoyed, sports-wise. I also loved Kinectimals and Fantastic Pets. The former had a Halo Ghost, if I recall, and both spoke to the animal and creature lover in me. Honestly, if I had the room and a Kinect, I'd legitimately make it a part of my workout every day lol
I don’t mind the change of direction Legend of Zelda has taken, I just hope it’s not permanent. For decades, this franchise has proven itself to be willing to redefine and change direction with nearly each new entry, producing one of the most diverse franchises ever from a gameplay experience standpoint. I worry a little that the radical success they got from BOTW and TOTK might lead them to viewing the future of the franchise through a more narrow lens than they otherwise would’ve. However for now I am staying optimistic and trusting them. But if the next game in the series feels like it’s cut of the exact same cloth that the last two have been, it’ll be really disheartening to see.
Aside from a few design choices, I personally don't have a problem with Perfect Dark Zero. The over the top story I can see is an issue to many, but since it's a prequel, I'm willing to give it a pass for that.
I'm generally indifferent toward H4 except the sweeping design changes of the covenants appearances and functionality. Also Del Rio disrespecting the hell outta chief was maaad confusing
People hating on Survive where you walk around and rescue people and prefer a walking game where you deliver mail. Then paid again for the director's cut. Gotta ride the Kojima D.
A lot of people that didn’t like stealth still played MGS5, so I guess maybe they thought they could get a bigger net if they add something popular like zombies and survival.
At least the Guitar hero/Rockband stuff is back now and doing actually pretty well! I'm enjoying it, and it actually got me loading Fortnite every week just to see what new songs have been added
I thought people hated Mass Effect 3 due to its ending. Also, for good games that made everything worse, I could use Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Resident Evil 4 as an example.
I'm probably the only person that quite liked Guitar Hero Live. Granted, I did get it for quite cheap, but I still had a good time with it. I blasted through the campaign and played GHTV for a while too. Luckily there's a fan revival for GHTV for those who wish to experience that again.
NGL, I honestly wish Halo Infinite didn't come out. It was the absolute first game where I 100% regretted buying it, on a pre-order no less! AND I STILL DON'T HAVE THE COSMETIC! Where's my damn skin, 343?!
Nah, youve gotta rerecord those clips with "Fallout: Blood Dragon" to the correct "Far Cry: Blood Dragon. You cant just edit over that 😂
I was listening to this while I was falling asleep, and was like, wait am I crazy? Lol
I’m sure they kept it as a joke , it did make me laugh tbh😂

Nah, just record yourself (or someone else) saying “Far Cry” & then paste that over every instance you said “Fallout” & done!

People hating on Survive where you walk around and rescue people and prefer a walking game where you deliver mail. Then paid again for the director's cut. Gotta ride the Kojima D.
I watched the whole video, you guys are great!
Nintendo said 1 2 Switch was such a disappointment and they didn't plan on making a sequel. Then they made a sequel. That was hilarious.
NGL, I honestly wish Halo Infinite didn't come out. It was the absolute first game where I 100% regretted buying it, on a pre-order no less! AND I STILL DON'T HAVE THE COSMETIC! Where's my damn skin, 343?!
I remember there was an Assassin's Creed movie, I don't remember a damn thing about it
To defend Zelda, the prequel was a Warriors game and very deep.
Why did you bring up mass effect while talking about anthem randomly
I watched the whole video. Keep up the great videos.
