I know what you mean. I saw them play live twice - First time was before they'd even released an album. They just happened to be playing a show at my favourite pub on a night when I was there. Had no idea who they were back then, but I was really impressed. It was exciting stuff. Second time was when they were supporting another band I really liked (Kill II This, I think), and again they made a huge impression on everyone. My own interest fell off quite a bit after they released the second album, but it was plain to see that they were getting super popular incredibly quickly and then . . . . This. I've probably still got my copy of the first album somewhere, but I can't imagine ever wanting to listen to it again. Everything I liked about it is tainted now ... spoiled ... infected ... and it simply isn't possible to separate the music from that disgust. It went from something that a lot of people enjoyed, to something everyone wishes they could just forget.
It really shows how demented certain churches are when statutory rape is considered adultery. In their eyes, the sin is “You had sexual relations with someone who was not your wedded spouse” and the thought train stops there. It doesn’t matter who it was to them because in their eyes sexual misconduct has no severity or context, but a binary “Did you do it, Yes | No”. In order to avoid “splitting hairs” and getting into debates, they just sweep it altogether in one camp. This is also, consciously or unconsciously, a tactic to downplay the sense of severity of child abuse practiced among the congregation.

As a Christian person who is also well over the liberal side of the fence, finding a good church is a chellenge, and i'm lucky enought o have one, but i HAVE to hope the situation from the first clip isn't too common. i'm sure it actually is. but i hate that reality.
And that’s why the abusers flock to churches because all you have to do is “ repent and ask for forgiveness”. I’m with you Charlie when it comes to “Pastor worshipping”.
Bro.. Lost Prophets was my fav band as a teen too and I didn't know any of this. I used to put Rooftops video on my Myspace and crap too but I stopped listening to them just because I just started gaming too much and listening to Bon Jovi as a phase. This reminded me about the band and learning this now is.. wow.
20:45 how tf does a judge say that what the court has seen with that case was deplorable and disgusting but then ONLY SENTENCE HIM FOR 30 YEARS HUH!! i will always have a problem with the sentencing of child abusers especially when its clear the offender shows no remorse
Absolutely NO remorse. It has been confirmed that, since he's been in prison, he's been trying to contact women who have children, as well as trying to gain access to CP.
The Ian Watkins thing fucked me up so bad. I was a HUGE lostprophets fan when I was a kid going through SA, and their music genuinely helped me survive. To say I was devastated when that news came out is a massive understatement. May he rot in hell
The case of Steven McCullogh is still ongoing, it haunts the family still. At the beginning he got really close to the family and even recorded conversations between the family members in order to see if they suspected him, it was in Northern Ireland, not to be mixed up with Southern Ireland which have two different legal prosecution systems. He still to this day he maintains that he was innocent and even tried to let on he was framed at one point 👀 Natalie was also pregnant with HIS child so it’s even more disgusting.
RUclips hid my self-censored comment for being too spicy. But basically I think Kenneth is at least tied with Watkins here. +(I called Watkins what he is in my prior comment)+
The Franke stuff is upsetting and very complicated because it sounds like authorities were not interested in doing actual really investigations or that the local laws were very weak in terms of protecting the children and if the family members who were aware of something being off pushed more publicly that that could in fact endanger the children more. If the parents already knew they were getting away with things because the police and family services either didn't care or had their hands tied and the parents were upset by the constant attempts of others to involve authorities the abuse could very well escalate and those family members might be cut off from contact with the children, thus making it even harder for them to know what was happening. Laws to protect children vary widely from place to place and actual response from the authorities varies dramatically too when dealing with domestic violence incidents and it's awful how hard it can be to get children the help they need. I'm not at all taking the family's side here. I do think that there were definitely things they could have done, avenues they could have explored if they had truly been so concerned over what was happening in the Franke household but I do have to remind people it's not as cut and dry as it seems here for a wide variety of reasons, from the laws themselves, to the policies of the departments meant to enforce them, to the social services and court systems, to the disgusting mind set of parents and the person they chose over their own children, to the family who likely didn't know how to help them and thus decided to keep quiet, all of these people and systems failed those children for years for multiple reasons.

The first topic: Thank you so much for highlighting the fact that this happens prolifically in all religious communities. This is why I don’t belong to any religion or denomination, although I believe in God and have strong faith. ❤❤
I practice my religion on my own, i refuse to go out and into church. So much terrible stuff happens and its "justified" by the religion and i dont agree with it.
Exactly, I wasn't raised in a church going family, but my Grandmas taught me the msin points. Arnold Murray from The Shepherd's Chapel, taught me lots. Besides a tirade against the Easter Bunny, Pastor Arnold was great. He'd say "Friend, this place is a Fluff House, the Bible is not taught here". I've seen a really good pastor get fired for having an affair. The lady hr cheated with was also married. They both left their spouse's and are married today. But, the man found a grown woman his own age and totally agree with the church's decision to fire him because he should have held himself to higher standards.
Hey Charlie, I was in the same boat as you with this band. Was a mad fan of LP and as a guitarist I really appreciated Lee and Mikes playing ability. They just had a great sound which was a crossover between rock, emo and metal and their edgy soundscape were super addictive. After I found out about Watkins depravity I was destroyed by his crimes against these kids and that this MF would have deceived his fans like that. I also now cant hear their music or even see an album cover or net news article without feeling physically ill. I'm hoping there is a special place in hell for anyone that would commit these crimes. I'm really hoping he is getting a taste of it in the jail in the UK and that his rockstar money runs out and his protection goes out the window. as well. Great channel Charlie. Love the "justice against stupidty" angle but calling out stuff like this brings it into the light for those that didn't previously know. Thanks man :)
You shouldn't forgive a piece if shit. You SHOULD find it in yourself to forgive a person for having once been a piece of shit, but obviously this pastor wasn't quite done being a piece of shit because he attempted to covered up the more heinous details and keep those facts out of the light to soften the blow, rather than owning up an repenting. If he has truly done those things, which are disgusting no matter how he feels about them now, but then he came fully clean even decades later and got help, and resigned from spiritual leadership, there would be actual potential for growth and i would say it's time to begin the path of forgiveness. But again, obviously not the case here.
My kid went to school without lunch once. Usually he gets school meals but he was on an outing. I was on pennies and still managed to pull a semi decent lunch out of my ass. There is NO reason to let your child starve
Back in the day priests were like Elvis or the beetles, they were the only ones who could read the Bible because they were taught the language it was in at the time
That first one...as a Christian I am disgusted by that church. They should have had the man shamed and publicly humiliated. He should go to jail. No one should be clapping and cheering for a pedo rapist. That's not a church of Christians it's a false church with a false pastor.
How far these faux Christians are from the real truth of Christ... This pastor should have been led straight to the police department and told to confess his crimes to the detectives... but they applaud his criminal behavior
It seems as though *_every_* Christian is a "faux Christian," according to all the other, different Christians that is . . . Every single one seems to have a different idea of what a "True" representative of the religion is supposed to be like, and every single one seems to be certain that God agrees with *_them_* and that all the others are getting it wrong. This really is something you guys need to properly sort out amongst yourselves instead of all this petty backbiting, 'cos right now the only real conclusions that can be drawn are that either you're _all_ "True Christians" (™️), or *_NONE_* of you are.
We want to forget the dark and ugly. But it's important to bring the dark and ugly to the light. I don't follow your content but somehow I found you. You hold people accountable in a way that's not a cancel campaign, you admit if you make a mistake. I can't articulate it but you have my respect
One of the reasons I liked Pastor Arnold Murray, The Shepherd's Chapel, so much is that they did not solicit donations. They sold a library of casette tapes of Pastor Murray's Bible lessons. He was a Doctor of Theology and would explain the Bible in a way anyone could understand. "Jesus was not a beggar". The work done by Shepherds Chapel in Arkansas, reached me in Minnesota just fine from late night paid program broadcasts. Copeland could be a twin to Uncle Lenny, one of the most loved junkies of the streets of St.Paul, MN. Lenny was a con but he did things like cried to an animal shelter that he couldn't afford their fee and can't go on without his purebred Poodle. When he got a dog in this manner, he turned around and sold it with forged papers. No one got hurt, I'm sure most people would not return their dog if they knew it wasn't a purebred, and the doggies got sprung from the hooskow. Lenny unfortunately passed away when he forgot to turn off his oxygen tank, used for emphysema, when he lit up a Doobie. He got blown off that joint and remained a legend. RIP Uncle Lenny✨🪄😘😘😘
1:13:27 I followed the Ruby Franke case closely because not only was it in my home state, but I was recommended to the program run by Jodie Hildebrandt. After one session in their program I never went back. Thankfully family was able to take me in at the time and I moved to California.
Cr1tikal obviously has never been to church lol! They were showing they're support for a member (as they do) admitting to an act that they assumed had long since had been forgiven by his family but instead were hit with a bomb
I needed this content!!! Thank you, believers need to rap their head around the fact that god unconditionally loving them doesn’t equate being liked. No, no! To the contrary, the being liked bit is up to them. People want to be in, or stay in, God’s favor? Live a life that naturally occasions God’s favor upon the righteous! I’m pretty sure people acting evil and taking God’s forgiveness, or unconditional love, for granted is disrespectful so those simpletons will just loop round the cycle of low life living and despair destined for hell. It’s never too let to repent, but repent you must. People just need to do their best until they know better, then do better within frameworks that don’t even go beyond the very basic principle of “do unto others, as you would have them do to you” and/or karma. The older I get, the more I suspect I’m in some kind of guardian angel training!!
Hmm. I've had my kids finish this or that before lunch or something. But it's not like they were starving already. They still eat 3x a day and a good amount of between meal snacks.
Dude recently came across your channel, I’m not on the net much but goddamn you’re hilarious 😂 anyway the McMahon thing I completely agree. I don’t care how good of an actor or performer or whatever the fuck even musician you are I will never enjoy your shit again, how can anyone look at some of these celebrities after they know and not be like nope no no fuckin thanks, how do they not immediately associate them with that sick shit they did smh, separate art from the person like fuck, anyway just had to get that off my chest but great vids man thanks amazing work, subbed gonna watch all of it
The people that are sooooo instantly forgiving of the adulterous pdfile pastor, I'm willing to bet they won't be this forgiving to anyone else outside of their religion or even just this church exclusively. Like a 'rule for thee but not for me' on a collective, community-wide scale. These people willingly sacrifice their ability to think and make their own conclusions, because thinking is hard and scary, so embrace the bliss of absolute obedience I suppose.
I used to be in ministry and was a devout christian for many years until i actually looked into all the claims of the bible. I used to be into debate and religions but it really pisses people off for some reason to question their belief or “faith” as they call it. I try to have faith too and not use it as an excuse.
The sad thing about the 8 Passengers case is how separated Kevin was. Ruby and Jodi made it so he wouldn't have any way to know what his kids were being put through, and he started by backing his wife because of the years of gaslighting they put him through using religious aspects among other things...
Mmm not entirely correct Kevin entirely approved of the terrible treatment of their kids before Jodi even came into the picture. Sending their oldest to a wilderness camp, taking his bed away, letting their kids starve if they don’t pack their own lunches, there’s tons more and that’s stuff that happened before Jodi. Kevin isn’t guiltless he may not be as bad but he’s not winning father of the year anytime soon.
I remember the 1st one they didn't go anywhere near the victim who uu can hear crying in the background but "christians" are all about forgiveness of the evil but yet victim blaming the poor innocent victims

He’s a pdf file in a uk prison if rumours are to be believed regardless of sentence he will never walk out
Ruby Frank story is still one that anytime anyone talks about her, I always get angry thinking about it
As a Christian person who is also well over the liberal side of the fence, finding a good church is a chellenge, and i'm lucky enought o have one, but i HAVE to hope the situation from the first clip isn't too common. i'm sure it actually is. but i hate that reality.
Critical I have to say I am in awe of your compassion and ability to be clear. So glad you plumb the depths so we don’t have too
And that’s why the abusers flock to churches because all you have to do is “ repent and ask for forgiveness”.
This reminded me about the band and learning this now is.. wow.
You should Google the sentencing report it’s absolutely unbelievable
20:45 how tf does a judge say that what the court has seen with that case was deplorable and disgusting but then ONLY SENTENCE HIM FOR 30 YEARS HUH!! i will always have a problem with the sentencing of child abusers especially when its clear the offender shows no remorse
Absolutely NO remorse. It has been confirmed that, since he's been in prison, he's been trying to contact women who have children, as well as trying to gain access to CP.
Don't worry. He won't ever be getting out.
30 years is a long time in uk 🇬🇧
There's a reason why some religions refer to believers as a flock. It's because, sadly, many people are easily turned into sheep...
The Ian Watkins thing fucked me up so bad. I was a HUGE lostprophets fan when I was a kid going through SA, and their music genuinely helped me survive. To say I was devastated when that news came out is a massive understatement. May he rot in hell
“I got baptized twice just in case he missed the first one” real.
Kenneth Copeland tops this video "most evil" off the chart, by a large margine.
Even more than the literal b-by f--king musician? I would think that they are at least tied as "1st for Worst".
RUclips hid my self-censored comment for being too spicy. But basically I think Kenneth is at least tied with Watkins here. +(I called Watkins what he is in my prior comment)+
as an orthodox christian i legitimately believe that satan is working through him
what did he actually do except take money and look weird? the first guy literally did a kid
not even close
Well said. Harmony Montgomery comes to mind. How do two states lose a 5/6 yo? Disturbing all around.
1:25:00 reminder that according to the bible jesus spread the word of the lord ON FOOT FOR FREE, ain’t no need for no money in that ““profession”” if your truly religious
I was vibing along (as in I wasn’t surprised by the controversies of the people Charlie was talking about) until we got to the Vince McMahon bit. Holy frigging hell. I didn’t realize it was THIS awful. He is utterly deplorable ANDDD now his wife will be in charge of the Department of Education. I am, admittedly, even more spooked.
There is no statue of limitations on sexual abuse on a child
I watched the entire clip, the church did not clap when all the details were put out there, They started yelling at him, and shaming him.
These are the people we are supposed to safeguard society from !
But somehow they always rise through the ranks of places w vulnerable people.
F*** them for hugging him and not immediately call for him to be arrested and charged !
The first topic: Thank you so much for highlighting the fact that this happens prolifically in all religious communities. This is why I don’t belong to any religion or denomination, although I believe in God and have strong faith. ❤❤
Not that way at the church I attend, a preacher shouldn't want that kind of attention, nor should they seek a salary for preaching
Why does he blink so much

Notice the non-ironic design of the ceiling in the first clip, a spider web: funny but not really...

I practice my religion on my own, i refuse to go out and into church. So much terrible stuff happens and its "justified" by the religion and i dont agree with it.
Same, the Bible never says you have to go to church
Thank you for always speaking the truth on these matters, we appreciate you using your platform for good! ❤❤
Absolutely Creepy 😢😢😢😢 He is a child graper and should be in jail!!!!! If my bishop said that, I would walk, then call the cops.
im ashamed you just made me now realize the joke from scary movie with your david copperfeild analysis
Yes keep it up Charles I love listening to you in my ear at work
Ian Watkins might actually be worse than diddy, or at the very least just as bad
Lets not compare crimes believe me victims do not appreciate when people rank which one is worst.
I will never forget seeing Evangelist Jerry Falwell Sr. announced that he "had sin."
That whole OJ thing blew my mind too brother.
Correct (near the end); a contract is unenforceable and can void if it tries to enforce anything illegal.
First dude waited all this time just so he wouldn’t be arrested that is wild

Ian Watkins makes R Kelly look like a saint
Ur thought on Linda McMahon as Education Secretary? I’d bet neither of there kids graduated high school MUCHLESS a University!🤷♂️🤷♂️
If u need a God for you to be a good person your clearly not a good person.
Facts brother
Hey, from Queensland, Australia 🦘🌏🇦🇺💯👍😎
as of one day ago today ian watkins was stabbed in prison and is in critical condition so, you can feel a little better listening to that story
That 8 passengers story makes me sick!
This is like if National Lampoon did a crime movie
He only admitted to the congregation because he knew she was going to tell all.

What is the difference between a pastor and a preacher?
I used to be in ministry and was a devout christian for many years until i actually looked into all the claims of the bible. I used to be into debate and religions but it really pisses people off for some reason to question their belief or “faith” as they call it. I try to have faith too and not use it as an excuse.
The sad thing about the 8 Passengers case is how separated Kevin was. Ruby and Jodi made it so he wouldn't have any way to know what his kids were being put through, and he started by backing his wife because of the years of gaslighting they put him through using religious aspects among other things...
what happened in that case?
Mmm not entirely correct Kevin entirely approved of the terrible treatment of their kids before Jodi even came into the picture. Sending their oldest to a wilderness camp, taking his bed away, letting their kids starve if they don’t pack their own lunches, there’s tons more and that’s stuff that happened before Jodi. Kevin isn’t guiltless he may not be as bad but he’s not winning father of the year anytime soon.
I remember the 1st one they didn't go anywhere near the victim who uu can hear crying in the background but "christians" are all about forgiveness of the evil but yet victim blaming the poor innocent victims
well this ruined my day
The first video fucked me up ...
I take that back this whole video FUCKED ME UP ...
