Honestly as a madrid fan, I enjoy the harder ucl knockouts. Yes, higher risk but higher reward and also more exciting. I would like a real madrid - Arsenal (QF), bayern munich (SF) and Man City for Final. These are the big moments real madrid live for.

I love Toni Kroos, but IF Mbappe joins Real Madrid this summer, we NEED to start phasing out Kroos. It's the only way forward. And the way to do so is to rely on 2 different systems.
433 with Vini on the left, Mbappe centrally and Rodrygo/Brahim/Arda on the left and Joselu coming off the bench for specific scenarios and Endrick getting minutes when he can. I think this is the best system in case we don't sell any attackers. The midfield 3 would be Bellingham, Valverde and Tchouameni. Bellingham and Valverde can both adapt to doing SOME of the things Kroos is currently doing because they have insane football IQ.
The other system is obviously the diamond with Vini as the left striker and Mbappe as the right striker and either continue with Bellingham as the 10 OR do the same midfield as I say above because all of Rodrygo/Brahim/Arda can play the 10 aswell. So we can literally play 2 entirely different systems and all we have to do to adapt from 433 to a diamond, is pushing Mbappe a bit to the right, Vinicius more centrally and moving the right winger in behind those 2. Very easy to adapt from one to the other but can yield great results.
Depending on who we have as our options for right back and left back, we can have different tactics for our LCM and RCM. If Mendy or even Camavinga plays LB, Kroos or even eventually Arda/Paz can play as the LCM. If we have a more attacking LB like Alphonso Davies or Fran Garcia or Gutierrez, it's probably better to have Bellingham or Camavinga as the LCM.
Same on the right although we don't currently have a TOP notch DEFENSIVE option if Carvajal suddenly stops his currently ridiculous form, but he and even Couto if we decide to bring him, can both do a job defensively, meaning basically any of our midfielders can play as the RCM depending on how much we want the RB to go forward.
That said, I think regardless of what we pick, we're overloaded in attack. I assume we can a plan in place for Arda considering how we signed him and Joselu should stay at least 1 more season no matter what. That means that either Rodrygo or Brahim should be "allowed"(asked?) to find a new club.

You bring up the potential of an overload with Vini, Mbappe, and Jude on the left. That’s why I want to prioritize a RIGHT BACK. Not a LB.
Imo Mendy and Fran can get the job done. But imagine a Frimpong flying up the pitch on the left with Fede.
Frimpong + Fede + maybe Brahim. GAME OVER

Not taking away from Carvajal who’s been gear this season he’s just getting older and he can’t run like Frimpong and provide that width for the switch.
The perfect RB replacement would be to bring back hakimi, he has all the attributes and came through our academy, plus he's a seasoned pro and is up there with the very best in his position

I also think Camavinga at LB is a solid idea. That way, Tchuameni gets to start with bellingham and valverde in the center of the field.
For me the club needs to decide if they are loaning Guler(he has complaining about playing time) or not that determines whether Joselu stays or not
