    Great video, can you adjust the stack height with spacer/risers ?

      Yes you can Scott. Profile Design have riser kits which allow you to increase the stack anywhere from 5mm to 70mm

    Hi, i had aero bars on my old 25,8 diameter handlebar. My new bar beeing 31,8 doesn't fit anymore for the aerobars. Its eightee way to big or to thin firther to the sides. Any suggestions? Can i use soacers to make the handlebar bigger towars the ends?

    You mentioned that the clamps have a 6nm rating, and simply carry on to put that torque on the bolts. Any mention about the handlebars? I have the same as yours, Bontrager Pro IsoCore. Trek say they can accept clip-on bars but don't say anything about maximum amount of torque, neither did you. Any suggestions? Also, should we use electric tape to protect the handlebars? And/or carbon paste ? Thanks a lot!

      I don't fasten beyond 6nm and I generally don't use either electrical tape or carbon paste on the handlebars. Hope that helps

    Thanks for the video! I have wide aerobars and it does seem that none of the clip on bars I come across may fit on them. Is there any chance of clipping on similar extensions on aerobars??? Thanks.

    I have 26mm dropbar and got the profile sonic ergo 50a. It says online it’ll fit bars 26-31.8mm but the tightest it goes is 31.8mm, am I missing a different clamp? Thanks!

    • @custombikefit466
      @custombikefit466  Год назад

      The older style aerobars shipped with a spacer to allow fitting to the bars with a smaller diameter. The newer Sonic Ergo range don't include that part and I don't believe it's available as a separate item

    can i clamp these aero bars on a carbon hadnlebars?

    • @custombikefit466
      @custombikefit466  8 месяцев назад

      It really depends upon the type of bar, whether they've been reinforced either side of the stem clamping area and the manufacturers specifications. I'm afraid I can't make a universal call either way

    Very helpful.
    Do you (or anyone) have some experience mounting one of these on a Giant D-shaped handlebar? Specifically the Giant Contact SL D-fuse. I'm worried it might be tapering off from a circular cross-section (at the stem) to the D shape too close from the stem. Thanks.

    • @custombikefit466

      I don't think there's enough room to safely accommodate the aero bar clamps on those handlebars

    Thanks for this vid. I have an issue with my aero bars slipping up as I ride when i grip them tightly. Read lots of different advice online (electrical tape, friction tape, no tape, old tube, aluminum can shim, carbon paste). Wonder if you've had similar issues and how you deal with it. Put electical tape on mine since i watched Gcn video do the same, but it possibly made it worse.

      @@custombikefit466 No it's not tapered. I was thinking that as well that there is no reason it should be moving. I'll try re installing and re tightening the bolts. thanks for the time.
