The music Boomers listened to. I always fought for unions, the working class and felt guided by the Beatles and their message that they were telling us in these incredible songs. I can speak for myself, think for myself and felt inspired having the Beatles putting out great works. I saw George play in Chicago Stadium during his Dark Horse tour. With Ravi Shakar and sunshine it was the greatest performance that I had seen.
Isn't a Pity, Georges profound words about the pain that grew amongst the four Beatles, a band that should have been able to care for each other(all you need is love?!) and last the test of time together. In my opinion, for what it's worth, this is the best album by an individual Beatle. Wish you were here George to read this!
'Wah wah' was his shot at the band too- "you're giving me your wah wah" I think George-as much as he loved them had just had it with John and Paul's prima donna shite by the recording sessions for Let it be- actually being the 1st to quit(but coming back thank God) and seeing his smile on the rooftop performance was pure joy of playing with these incredible players. And even though he felt John gave him little due him he ends up recording with John (and later Ringo). He was an even more complex man than John and was a sharp quick wit in his own right. I've seen a slew of bootleg videos of throw away takes from a number of sessions from magical mystery tour on and when the 3 would lay down harmony overdubs it was - surprise ,,, George that was assigning parts with John constantly saying he couldn't pick out his part-so much for the vaunted Paul pushing him around! Thats talent on another level when you think about the complexity of their harmonies-anr it was just the 3 voices-ringo didn't figure in on most harmony parts. My favorite Beatle was always John until this album and I realized how much this man had in him. Think of all his albums that you could listen to all the songs- Paul and John,,,not so much in my estimation. But that's just my 'wah wah! RIP georgie boy

1st listen 🎶 🎉 Im in AWE! Knew more songs than I thought. I used to think Paul McCartney was the most talented Beatle. Rethinking this. The young men strove for greatness together and relied on each other until the breakup.
@@rolandosuarezelizondo7423 PERO LENNON TUVO ALBUMS EXTRAORDINARIOS COMO MIND GAMES DE 1973 Y BIRDGES AND WALLS DE 1974, PARA MÍ EL MEJOR DE SU PRODUCCIÓN SOLISTA LEJOS, CON TEMAS COMO: 9 DREAM ; WHATEVER GETS YOU TRUTH THE NIGHT ; OLD DIRT ROAD ; WHAT YOU GET ; GOING DOWN ON LOVE ; STEEL AND GLASS, FUE IMPECABLE ESE DISCO QUE SE GESTO EN LO QUE SE DENOMINO: " EL FIN DE SEMANA PERDIDO " CUANDO SE HABÍA SEPARADO DE YOKO Y ANDABA CON MAY PANG ; APARTE EL DISCO DE COVERS ROCK AND ROLL DE 1975, TAMBIÉN FUE MUY EXITOSO PARA EL - Y EN LO QUE RESPECTA A HARRISON, LIVING IN THE MATERIAL WORLD DE 1973 ; CLOUD NINE DE 1987, QUE PARA TODO EL MUNDO FUE EL GRAN REGRESO A LOS ESCENARIOS.
When we was fab, All Those Years Ago, This song, etc.

When this George Harrison album ALL THINGS MUST PASS came out in November of 1970 - It was the biggest selling record of all time - ! I remember the day it got into the shelves of the record stores in New York - - True story - !
Not long after this album came out, I bought it. I loved it ever since. I liked the first 2 sides more than the others at first. As I grew older, I found myself listening to sides 3 and 4 more.
I bought this album when I was fourteen, with earnings from my paper round. I always loved The Beatles; music I grew up with; music of my childhood...the first single I ever bought was Hey Jude. All the memories, and still, all the music...Let It Roll.
Definitely. As much as I love some of the other guys’ solo work if I could only preserve one solo Beatles album it would have to be this one, no question.
My fav Beatle for many reasons. My bother gave me this album for my 13th birthday and it was a wonderful gift. I saw you a few years later at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto with Ravi Shankar and Billy Preston. I had a hot date! And I had lined up overnight with hundreds of people awaiting to buy tix in the morning. It was a fabulous concert. Thanks George.
Never forget these songs the thread of my generation… it was like god himself said let there be Beatles I know your gonna love them and we did .. thank you GOD
George was the mastermind in the band, it's obvious in his music that all the dynamics came from him compared to both john and paul in everything they done since.
I do not know about that. I beg to differ. John was the main genius/mastermind but he allowed Paul and George's genius to shine as well and call shots.
The beauty of the spirit in the music of George Harrison can be compared to the one of his good mate Tom Petty.. If you are an (old ;) guitar beginner, then you can probably better perceive the pure sense of musicality in both of them: it's all sooo music-friendly and simply built, but beautiful in the sound and harmony. There's actually bright Light in it. Always thanking them for their songs, Om Shanti to everybody.
This album caught me from the beginning. My sweet lord as single, the initial attraction. Then hearing the B-side Isn´t it a pity (more than 7 minutes on a single). Beautiful songs which show the full genius of George. Greetings from Germany.
Harrison, the soft spoken beatle with that seriously spiritual vibe which made him form a deep kinship with lennon. He created this beautiful album of his journey to a higher plane. Besides being a serious exceptional guitarist he was a brilliant speaker of truth, love, and a search of purpose. This album is the masterful creation of that hearts desire to find his moment where his music really mattered. A beautiful legacy in a lifetime of hard work, this is my favorite album of harrison, its brutally honest, hauntingly truthful, and above contained all the answers a spiritual man is searching for. For me, in my grief to find myself after hunan tragedy, it offeres me well needed peace. Thank you george for this amazing album. Xx Flynn Taylor
ERR... Actually.. After EMI films pulled their financing one week before filming was to start on "The Life of Brian" Harrison saved the project by funding ALL of it himself by.. Mortgaging his family home. Good job the film was a success.... Otherwise he would've lost the lot. THAT'S the kind of man he was.
I've clicked through so many videos, through so many incredible, weird ambient landscapes... I feel like I'm going on a train trip, seeing a succession of crazy, never-before-seen scenes from history, important, weird musics through the window as I pass... there's so much to explore. So many places to alight and dwell in the ambiences that are on offer. This stop, in particular, is brilliant
Of course. Beautiful George. Best solo work after the Fabs. The “quiet “ one made the best solo record after the boys broke up. Music “experts” can dispute it but go on. Just listen. Peace always.
As a young teenager, George inspired me to pick up the guitar.....that was in 1964....I still play his songs and a few years ago my band decided to throw in some Beatles and George Harrison songs including "My Sweet Lord" ...so I went out and bought an expensive Guild 12 string, just for that number...... and it was worth it!!!
Man, the dudes. They really changed the world for better. I do Transcendental meditation because of them, and it's made my life quite fantastic. Thank you Beatles
I grew up with the Beatles and George is my favorite. "Don't bother me" is one of the greatest Rock and Roll songs of all time. This album shows the depth of his talent which was overlooked by the general public. But not by Beatles fans.
Ahoj, pocházím z České republiky a toto album teď slyším poprvé. Před pár měsíci mi běžela hlavou píseň My sveet Lord.
I used to get irritated when I heard remixed albums. My thoughts were: "This is what they created, so leave it alone!". Then I realized that before the 1970's, they didn't have audio compressors, they barely had EQs, and the Sgt Pepper's album was recorded on a 4 track recorder. Now when I hear remixes against the original mixes, I hear the clarity and fullness that the artists from the sixties and early 70's wished they could have gotten. The Beatles and George Martin pulled every trick in the book to get the sounds they got because of the lack of equipment that we have today (aside from the fact they had some really good microphones). It's amazing that you can get comparable sound quality from a $300 computer that used to take hundreds of thousands of dollars to create. Some of the worst sounding audio recordings I've ever heard, came from Motown's Hitsville studios (Heatwave by Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, for example). However, as my audio engineering book stated, a crappy recording of a hit song is still a hit song.
That was fascinating. Great comment. I'm an old musician whose favorite toy back in the 1980s was the 4 track Tascam Portastudio. If my iMac hadn't given up the ghost 5 years ago, I'd be on Logic Pro now.
I was born in 1954 in Chicago and I grew up listening to the Beatles. Saw there first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show that Sunday night! George Harrison was always my favorite Beatle. I saw him in concert in Chicago on the Dark Horse tour! RIP George ❤
Read a review of this album a long while back. They called it a masterpiece. He was saving up a number of songs he wrote that did not make the cut with the rest of the Beatles. The critic then said once he put in all this effort to create this album, he just did not try as hard. Or something to that effect. Outstanding album.
@@thenowchurch6419 I think they were done working with each other I mean look at how Paul was giving George a hard time these like look I'll play whatever you want I won't play anything they were set up it had ran its course and what a ride you got to remember those guys were with each other in the early days what 300 days out of the year if not more and George actually said it's not about making another million dollars could you imagine being able to say that I think everybody just burned out but again what a ride

When we was fab, All Those Years Ago, This song, etc.
When the Beatles broke up everyone was sad but to me now we had four talents releasong material onstead of one gruop and albums like this are the end result maybe hreak ups arent yragic but rewarding on a whole new level RIP George and yhank i for one of the best albums ever to grace a turntable😂❤❤

This was album of the year.
It's a real classic. George was the man. So dark but full of light. What is life is a pop classic!

The 4 Beatles were as incompatible as the yolk, white, shell and omelette are. 😜
Part of their aura and charm. 4 distinct styles came together.🎉
I love Wah Wah and the magical album cover pretty much part of the British folklore just cool❤
I think this is REAL music. George is so wonderful. I miss him, but he left so much behind.
George was indeed a special messenger, truly savant...
When this George Harrison album ALL THINGS MUST PASS came out in November of 1970 - It was the biggest selling record of all time - ! I remember the day it got into the shelves of the record stores in New York - -
True story - !
Nice!
Sounds as magical today, June 2023, than it did all those years ago when i bought it on the first day of its release.... When did the time go ?..
Yes it's amazing, isn't it! Seems like yesterday.... almost....❤
Ask Sandy Denny. I still cannot listen to her sing “Who knows where the time goes” without a tear.
yup@@GT380man that's the song in a human heart, earthen anthem past, present and future for sharing chooooooooone!!!!☺
I'm telling you 😊❤
Just a beautifully conceived album from start to finish. It flows so well. A masterpiece indeed.
He had a pocket full of songs from his time with the Beatles and recorded his own stuff Ringo and Phil Spector helped
Spector ruined these songs.
They needed colour and verve. Could a been a lovely album
Not long after this album came out, I bought it. I loved it ever since. I liked the first 2 sides more than the others at first. As I grew older, I found myself listening to sides 3 and 4 more.
This song is still modern. It was ahead the its time. Thanks George, whatever you are.
I bought this album when I was fourteen, with earnings from my paper round. I always loved The Beatles; music I grew up with; music of my childhood...the first single I ever bought was Hey Jude. All the memories, and still, all the music...Let It Roll.
The great masterpiece of the post Beatle era.
There is simply no other album among the other 3 that is even a close second.
The Plastic Ono album is considered by many including myself to be better. I would put this second personally.
@@paulhallatt4313 You are the ONLY person who thinks that. Not one other person.
Definitely. As much as I love some of the other guys’ solo work if I could only preserve one solo Beatles album it would have to be this one, no question.
well, only read further down to see that YOU overstate things as well. You are not alone. @@pm829
I'm challenged now being a huge McCartney fan. This effort is top notch by George!🎉

Feels so perfect as if the best are still the best...Thank you for everything you've ever done, it will not ever be forgotten!!

I know, Idaho!!!!❤❤❤❤
George was the mastermind in the band, it's obvious in his music that all the dynamics came from him compared to both john and paul in everything they done since.
I do not know about that.
I beg to differ.
John was the main genius/mastermind but he allowed Paul and George's genius to shine as well and call shots.
@@thenowchurch6419no he benefitted from being around fellow musical geniuses simultaneously
Ok, please, don't get me a crying
@@oirampeceda2409 No tears, please😃💕🙏
This album is unique...its a masterpiece
Thank you George. We love your gift .
Just so full of love

ERR...
Actually..
After EMI films pulled their financing one week before filming was to start on
"The Life of Brian" Harrison saved the project by funding ALL of it himself by..
Mortgaging his family home.
Good job the film was a success....
Otherwise he would've lost the lot.
THAT'S the kind of man he was.
When Roy Orbison died George called Tom Petty to break the news to him and said aren't you glad it wasn't you ? haha Liverpool Beatle humor.
I couldn't have said it better myself. George's beautiful masterpiece. My favorite album of his.
Very nice comment. Living in the Material World was also a beautiful spiritual experience.

I'm honest with my statement, this is the first time I heard "Beware of Darkness" and I've been taken to mountains and clouds with its melody.
That's awesome!!
I'm also blessed to be born in 61, to grow up with the greatest music ever , George was one of the best ever God bless everyone!
I've kinda been avoiding this particular album for no reason... I love George and R.I.P.
George, o caçula. Meu "Beatle", predileto. O cara sempre foi bom demais. Ouço td dia. Fico em paz. Peace on Earth.
Beware of Darkness is a masterpiece
Beware of darkness, beware of sadness, beware of Maya! Right to the point!
The Beatles was loved by just about everyone, and this album was a huge success.
Did you ? In Liverpool?
Ahoj, pocházím z České republiky a toto album teď slyším poprvé. Před pár měsíci mi běžela hlavou píseň My sveet Lord.
George would be with us today if he never have had a smoking problem.
and now he jams with Eddie VH, same problem.
being stabbed, too?
I bought a George Harrison guitar strap (rocky) then heard this album… can’t believe I’m 46 and never heard this beauty ❤
Loopploy uh
That was fascinating. Great comment. I'm an old musician whose favorite toy back in the 1980s was the 4 track Tascam Portastudio. If my iMac hadn't given up the ghost 5 years ago, I'd be on Logic Pro now.
😅😮😮😊😊
ehh idk, Giles is making weird mixes with the latest albums. this one doesn't sound so different to the old one... but it's just my opinion
Fascinating insights,than k you!
George Harrison we can called like Quite Beatles and we still ♥️ love and care for him

I guess. He was the best Beatle. He looks like a good guy. You sre luky. Greetings from Chile.
Cheers, sounds like a solid dude🧐🫣
Read a review of this album a long while back. They called it a masterpiece. He was saving up a number of songs he wrote that did not make the cut with the rest of the Beatles. The critic then said once he put in all this effort to create this album, he just did not try as hard. Or something to that effect.
Outstanding album.
He said that if he would have stayed with a Beatles it would have took 40 years to get all his music on the records
@@kenmason1461 Sad that the Beatles were not in the era where band members can make solo albums and still stay in the band.
