Evans as a 4th liner yes keep him. The guy they should never trade is Anderson and believe me there will be a lot of interest as we move closer to the trade deadline. Anderson is a solid 3rd liner than can move up to the 2nd line when needed. He is big, strong, fast that can play with physicality and in my opinion if he plays with the right line mates can be a consistent 20 goal scorer.
@@fearedlegend your opinion, mine is the opposite, Anderson is far from useless maybe you have something against him and no way Evans is a 3rd line centre, not on a playoff team anyways.
I don't see why we cant keep both if the price is right. The Habs have spent 7 yrs developing Jake to the level he can play at today. Why trade him when he is starting to peak as a defensive player.
@@shaunstarr If Jake can get paid more, he should take it. Hockey is a sport we have in our Canadian blood, but the NHL is an entertainment venue, and business rules.
The Habs won't trade Jake unless they get someone special in return. He's still blossoming, and who knows where his ceiling is. Calling him a 4th line center is short-sighted and an insult.
Looking at, and something you might want to so something on, that Roy ever plays for Montreal full time. I just find he's super soft, avoids the tough areas, flinches all the time when the rough stuff is going on around him, I just don't see it.
So tired of how media protected RHP is!!!!! Nothing against the kid but he is destined to play his career over seas and is just taking a spot up for a younger prospect to have more ice time
Beck is not proven. We think he will be good but we are Habs fans so all our prospects are top 6. I’m more interested in the second crop coming up that are bigger and play with grit too bad they are so far out and may not even be good enough.
I’m a Jake Evan’s fan but he gets too much love. Offers little offence and no physicality and we’re talking $4mill/year. That’s insane He’s not Phillip Danault.
@@mikemarcil9184 If he keeps that pace, it would be an amazing accomplishment. Since the 2021-22 season, only one player managed to produce over 40 points without a single PP point. It was Charlie Coyle in 2022-23.
Maybe he's not "physical" in the sense that he doesn't go out of his way to inflict harm on the opponent but he is far from easy to play against. He can hold his own in battles and can protect the puck well. For a bottom guy, he brings all the offense you need imo.
Habs need centres If you move DVO and Evans Habs would only have Suzuki as a reliable centre Beck is coming up Dach needs to show he can play at 2C reliably Moving DVO and Evans could set back this team Moving Evans could be another Lekhonen type trade where you kick yourself for letting go of a gem. Suzuki Dach Beck Evans I could live with that Newhook to me is another guy I could live with moving, he hasn’t found a role, he’s not skilled enough for top 6 Not gritty enough for bottom 6 I like him but he is not a good fit
We should be targeting vets that have actually won cuos and made all star teams before not below average players , i love Jake but what does he really bring in credentials that can lead the young kids to be better? None , just like matheson

👊🏻
100% agreed 👍 he's hustling 💪 hard
Fair assessment of Andy . Except, if you get a decent Return, Trade him
Evans is a PERFECT 3 rd line centre . Elite shutdown centre who can and does score. Anderson is borderline useless. Zero skill
@@fearedlegend your opinion, mine is the opposite, Anderson is far from useless maybe you have something against him and no way Evans is a 3rd line centre, not on a playoff team anyways.
SEAN. FINALLY someone who understands. Keep Evans AND Beck! PS. Thanks for the videocast. I now know what the two of you look like!
Thanks man!

fair way to look at it, Andrew. I wonder though at 28 does Evans feel this is his ONE shot at making bank?

He’s 28 and this could be his big contract of his career. He’s having a great year I just wonder if he’d take 3 years here?
Evans will want 4 years, at least 3.5M . Someone Will pay that.
Agreed!

I’d be surprised if he ever plays for Montreal, and at this point in his career it would be a big risk and long shot.
Dvorak is gone leaves a space for Beck.
100%
So when is Newhook and Dach suppose to develop at center ? And if they are wingers why are we keeping them
Dvorak has to go.
What about Michael Hage? He's a center who's coming up soon
Further along the line. Beck. Kapanen ahead of him today I believe👊🏻
Hage is at least 2 yrs away. He has skill but needs to develop stamina, strength, and size.
So tired of how media protected RHP is!!!!! Nothing against the kid but he is destined to play his career over seas and is just taking a spot up for a younger prospect to have more ice time
he caught fire and then got hurt

Well im pretty realistic and my guests cover the team so i would say we dont have the typical fan boy take.
It depends on the term
4 years 11 million. You in?
@ no more than 2. Beck is close
Keep Jake no more then 3 and 3. Anybody that plays hard keep we don’t have enough of them.
fair

Great point and Owen Beck is expected to provide more offense than Evans 👊🏻
He s on pace for a 42 pt season. Not bad for a 3rd/4th line center

@c.cylune6909 wow , interesting stat . I hope we keep him but he may be a little out of their price range if he flirts with 40

I could live with that

solid breakdown
No, you don;t have to trade evans. he is fine 4th line center. Evans will be overpaid, you don;t sign a 4th line center for more than 2.5 mill a year
sorry, you have to move evans for the above reasons
Agreed!

vets will be leaving mtl soon
Would love to see Beck, 51 and Ivan to start next year believe that line would be a fountain of beautiful youth.
Let’s gooo
Get rid of Dvorak, find any way out at this point. Last year of his contract, bye!!
He'll be gone. Im sure of it!
Where u bin?
right here baby
