- Most of us are aware of the carbon emissions in EV manufacturing,
but almost none knows exactly how much Carbon is emitted when we produce and drive an EV compared to an ice vehicle
Hence, my team and I researched for days and brought this Video to you, where we have unfolded many dark truths about EV manufacturing and have qualified the carbon emission through electric car production and usage.

An eye opening video. I mean we all were aware that EVs aren't really as green as they're marketed to be. But these metrics were what was needed. Good research, man. 👌🏻
That's why Japanese car companies didn't fall for ev cars.
More like they want to protect the political interests of Japan because of their abundance of hydrogen.
But Toyota keeping their Hybrids alive was the best choice they made.
They fall for selling more cars
@@comfdespl5347 Not exactly...! They were also pissed off with the crazy ev imposed upon them by US and European markets.
They kinda did that partlyin defiance and partly in researching thru the "green" concept behind these EVs...!
@@rishis4275 EV's are much better than ICE.
Even this video explicitly shows that.
Toyota and Honda never did the "researching through the "green""
But yes the push for EVs is being done in a stupid way.
8tons of CO2 emissions is still a lot despite how the video portrays it. Mind you, thats vs hybrid cars, ICE cars are having even more difference of 55-39 = 16 tons.
When he talks about EV production, he says 4 tons of carbon emissions extra for battery is a lot, but somehow extra 16 ton emissions from ICE and 8 tons from Hybrid (4x battery and 2x battery production) is not substantial?
EVs are there to save the business of automakers, not the environment.
Yeah, when I think about it, you are 100% right!
Because hybrids would still use conventional fuels, they are switching over to EVs, and portraying them as Green, and As of they are saving the planet😂.........
But what about hydrogen, why it isn't being developed as such as EVs are?
ev's are a scam made by the rich to sell us the same shit.
?How?
I'm sure most of the Automakers are making EVs for the sake of it .
No other option left of
Maybe
MAFIA😅
Am not an expert on this topic but I guess the fact that hydrogen isn't readily available & higher production cost makes it a poor choice for domestic fuel supply, plus an EV is already more expensive than your conventional internal combustion engine cars so using a car running on costlier hydrogen fuel will put an extra strain on customers' wallet & they might loose their interest in EVs altogether, something the automakers don't want.
It is one of the best documentary on EVs that I have ever seen, so kudos to the whole production team.
Another fact that you did not mention in your video, is that majority of the labor force of the illegal African mines comprises of unpaid child labor, and even adults working there are unpaid and overworked.
Don't you think it's there government fault? Capitalist will even try to sell your body if it's worth it.
He already covered this in his previous video. Maybe you are new here.
He has already covered this 8.53 minutes in the video, without even seeing the whole video properly you are just judging...😂
But what about the workforce involved in extraction of crude oil? You think they are treated well? What about emissions caused until the petrol reached your car? A lot.

I understand you have reservations about EVs, but I wanted to share my experience. I’ve had an EV for a year now, and I can definitely say that range anxiety is only a concern for the first 1000 km. After that, managing the range becomes much easier. Plus, with a solar power plant at my home and business, I don’t rely on conventional energy sources at all.
I stay in a flat among 800 residents of the society.
Unless each parking space has a prepaid charger, just imagine 400 guys waiting in queue throughout night for their turn on 2-3 central chargers.

Few points you have missed, 1. Environmental impact of mining and transporting fossil fuels ( Its s lot more compared to the REE mining); 2. Every day the % of energy generated from renewable sources is increasing, so net carbon emissions for EV will only go down. Some countries in europe already have 100% renewable energy; 3. While battery recycling is low today, its only going to up in future. Also EV battries always have a second life post its use in a car. You cant recycle oil from an ICE; 4. The studies u mentioned are mostly for NMC type batries. Newer battery chemistry like LFP, sodium ion etc (Nexon, BYD etc has LFP battery) are moving away from nickle and manganese, so your calculations will improve in favour of EVs if done today; 5. EVs have environmental impact mostly at the beginning, so the more u use EV, the more u save. ICE on the other hand, the more u drive, more u pollute.
there is no country in world with 100% renewable energy... max as far as I'm aware is 1/4 or 25%. Europe doesn't have enough sun for solar farms to generate a ton of electricity

I had a very skeptic view regarding the EVs right from the beginning which many of you will find irrelevant. Here's the entire story:
Once I was watching a video of Steve Wozniak amd he said a really really remarkable thing about the modern product and service market. Steve told that when he was young, he could (or any normal man could ) repair his car for the most part by himself. It was because the technology was simple and affordable. But the modern tech is so complex and sophisticated that the control of the products are centered. In the world of electronics, we can see that the scope of repair is completely beyond the reach of a common man. But the automotive sector still offers a broad scope for repairs and maintenance. When it comes to EVs, the car market becomes completely like the chip market. There is hardly anything related to repairs that can be performed outside the manufacturer's premise. So, I always thought that clever people like Elon Musk are so much invested in EVs only because they want more control over the products that they are.manufacture.
Oh, those mechanical repairs… I still fondly remember the days when my dad would disassemble our Bajaj Chetak engine down to its carburettor, tweak the fuel and airflow screws along with the idle rpm screw, and get good mileage of over 50kpl on a 1994 Chetak, even when it was around 8 years old.
Now though, I can’t imagine anyone accessing the EV components and tweaking the hub motor for more efficient running…..
impressive way of thinking man 😮🤌🙌👏
Hybrid hydrogen ice all cars are non repairable now
If you work on it yourself warranty is void
EV is not alone in this
FYI Toyota hybrid cars can be serviced only at specific dealers because not all dealers are authorised to service hybrid
@@7567_Rex But still hybrid cars have more components as compared to EVs. That gives some hope regarding their future. Hybrid cars might become repairable in future.
@@AdityaRaj-kb1uo more parts are going to add more failure points. It is not a thing to brag about rather it is a con.
EVs are more eco friendly after sales too.
Less moving parts = Less maintenance and service cost = less parts change = less energy to manufacture, transport those parts.

ICE cars use fossil fuels which is refined in petroleum refineries which too create a lot of pollution.
And the EV battery pollutes the air and ICE engine cars are better carbon emissions are 10 x in EV cars
@@Heavy0001 If we talk about he initial parts where he talks about non carbon pollution the main points are
1. Cobalt mining uses child labour : no doubt it does, but luckily 80% Indian ev’s and almost every EV in China is using LFP with zero cobalt. Same can’t be said for NMC EVs that the western companies make. Further, cobalt mines didn’t come up yesterday, they have been around for decades because oil refining also uses cobalt in desulphurisation of crude oil. And laptops/phone battery still uses cobalt. So someone without EV is still using cobalt indirectly. Either through oil refined by cobalt catalysts or in the laptops and phones from which they watch the video
2. Rare earth metals : again, if according to him all motors use rare earths, then every car has starter and hybrid also has starter + hybrid motor. Obviously the assertion is false, not all motors use rare earths. We are talking about high performance PMSMs here like those in taycan etc. in fact even Tesla Model S uses induction motor (electromagnet, no permanent magnet). So again, most of the

Production, transportation, storage and handling of Hydrogen is not only difficult but expensive too. That's why automakers worldwide are not adapting this technology since decades.

One of the best auto channels on youtube.
at best EV-vs-ICE is just about relocating the emissions
Generally I don't comment, but I have to for this video.
Hats off for the hardwork you have done to make this video.
Recycling in EVs and Batteries soon cut half this problem. Currently a few industries are recycling mobile Batteries tomorrow they would recycle auto batteries. But main hazard is Electronic waste not EV.
Thankyou for the video, we really need youtubers like you
EVs are the future in multiple sense:
1. Companies are shifting from Nd Permanent motors to Ferrite based motors or Induction motors.
2. Electricity production is already increasing towards renewable at a rapid rate: we have seen that with multiple large scale projects like Bhadla solar park.
3. Batteries are now shifting from Nickle and cadmium based to LiFePo4 based chemistry which has longer life cycle as well as much safer.
Hybrids and Hydrogen are not the best approach towards sustainability and reducing carbon emissions because of marginal advantage they provide over gas vehicles in terms of carbon emission. Go with first principles and you will find that splitting water to hydrogen in itself is 70% efficient and whole well to wheel for Hydrogen is even lower. Similarly for fuel, it has to be transported and that also creates emissions while electricity can be transported without emissions. I do understand that major advantages comes when the electricity is sourced from renewable energy but it is still superior even when it is sourced through coal. Additionally, the major emission savings will also follow when batteries are recycled while there is no such opportunity for the ICE vehicles.
hybrids are being pushed because oil making countries want to milk consumers further by keep selling them oil even if they have to sell them 800L per year than 1000L. Because otherwise if consumer shift to EV, then they will sell 0 oil. 800L is still better than selling zero litre.

1. Battrey chemistry is changing quickly. Now lithium is being replaced with sodium.
2. Every metal we use comes from mining including lithium in your mobile.
3. Oil ko nikalne mein refine karne mein aur transport karne mein kita emission hota hai, wo bhi batao.

Finally you made this video!! Thank you so much for bringing light to this topic. Loved the video production and quality. Very well presented. Keep it up bhai❤
This is what I call as quality content!
I am your fan, and this is a good video, but I felt this video to be a bit INCOMPLETE. Long term and large scale adoption of EVs will solve many of the supply chain issues, for example rare earth issues of batteries will go away when made from Graphene instead of pure lithium ion. Such batteries are available but still not mass produced.
Motors like Induction motors which is established and Switched Reluctance motors (SRM) are gathering pace. Both do not need rare earth minerals and are already being designed and assembled in India. So if the govt. pushes for a combination of graphene batteries with SRM or Induction motors and large scale nuclear power generation, EVs will clean up the environment like nothing else.
Maybe you can consider making a video on this as well?

These practices are already being put to use to produce batteries for phones laptops and other electronics.
The reason people are being asked to switch to ev is because it is only polluting in the manufacturing process (so do ice vehicles) and don't pollute every time you use ev.
basically it is like buying something on cash vs on EMI.
If you buy it outright, it may feel you are spending a lot at once, but over time if you pay EMI, there is illusion of paying less per month, but more in total due to interest.
If you see, battery is made at once and does entire pollution there, in oil there is illusion that pollution is very little but you are doing pollution for every litre of oil pumped from oil well, transported in ships trucks trains, refined in refinery and finally burnt in car. These all production emission of oil is the interest you pay, while burning it (tailpipe) is the emi

The after sale service is a very important task for any ICE cars. But it is very difficult to do. That's why car makers are rushing to EV's to get rid of the After sale service tension. It shows how irresponsible a car brand could be !
For example- Tata motors, Tata cars are very bad for after sale service and experience. To avoid it ( from the responsibility and assurance of good service) they are choosing a shortcut. And that is EV cars. In EV there is no major after sale service concern.

Hats off to you & your team
Boycott ev ✅
boycott all polluting vehicles and get a cycle. lets see..

Great effort and loved the deep analysis

For india, evs are only option.
And evs are future
Diesels are better
Diesel engine would always remain relevant because of their inherent property of providing peak torque at lower rpms while ensuring the maximum possible fuel efficiency, that is why most heavy machines like trucks, tractors and merchant ships use Diesel as there is literally no alternate for them under this one point favouring Diesels ,
4.2TDI V8 ⭕⭕⭕⭕ could do 300km/h on the AUTOBAHN under 4000 rpm while delivering a fuel efficiency of 20 KM/Litre
The math is simple you get a high performing fuel efficient diesel car that is relatively as bad as a battery electric vehicle in terms of harming the planet, as BEVs need more materials plus they also need more electricity and Europe's largest economy Germany burns lignite to produce electricity, one thing to always keep in mind is that if everyone start using BEVs cost of electricity would only increase.
@@amritathakur6935 looks like you inhaled too much diesel smoke and got brain cancer thinking 4L V8 will give you 20kmpl. Get well soon

Stop buying EV....🚫🚫
One of the best channel on you tube, keep up the good Work..
Wow kuchh paisa mila hai FUD failane ke liye ya aise hi viewers ko galat baat bata rahe ho ..
1. Lithium is just 2% of a battery
2. Lithium and all other parts of a battery is infinitely recyclable
3. Oil spill and oil pollution is million times more environmentally harming then mining
4. In few years all EV batteries will be iron phosphate battery .. your phone uses way more cobalt and other issue minerals
🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Tujhea kisne paise diye hai 🤡 all of your points are half baked propaganda peddled by EV manufacturers I can debunk all of them if you tell me to.
@@rei_2833 let’s do it .. I am in favour of EV .. because of following reasons:
1. In India with solar Wind and hydro we can generate many times more electricity than we can use .. only issue is intermittent storage for which we have many battery solutions like flow battery, gravity battery like storing water on higher ground .. we won’t be slave of oil producing nations
2. EV materials are infinitely recyclable, and an EV life is 4 times of an ICE
What is your counter
I agree .. future batteries would be made from sodium ion. EV will be better option than ICE in future. Hydrogen cells if safe will be the king of automotive
@@sudeeptaghosh you want an argument ?
Here's my side : 1] majority of Indian energy and also the world's energy comes from coal. And other non renewable energy , additionally hydroelecticity maybe the only reliable renewable energy we have as Wind and solar aren't that efficient.
Batteries degrade over time and a better investment would be to use nuclear energy plants.
2 No EV materials aren't infinitely recyclable , it's still a car, just becaude it has a battery dosen't means it dosen't have the other issues , you have to change the tyres , the breakpads etc all need to be changed additionally the battery itself needs to be changed.
3 Nope. ICE cars are proven tech and last way longer than any EVs , toyotas , Hondas, lexus , old mercs and crown vic all can take you to over 10 lakh km on the same engine. Name a EV which can do that
Ja na pehle he sarkar ki fati padi hai electricity puri karne me , roz cut hote, ev se electricity ka kitna consumption bad jayega, wo pura tu karega 😂😂😂😂
Wow. Great video. Everybody needs to watch this.
Brilliant research.. I kept telling myself.. “write a comment on apple to apple comparison”… I am glad I waited till the end like always..
Brilliant content. I encourage people to buy electric as it will increase demand. When demand is new companies and people join to clean the system. Economics works very differently initially The business case scenario is very important to execute bigger objectives.
Good analysis.
1. Lithium is made by 2 methods.
2. To make permanent magnet for the electric motor there is use of REE which is most hazardous in refining only china takes that responsibility.
3. If we compare ev's with other segments they produce 8 tco2e less but it can be improved by producing REE good conditions.
4. The lithium ion can be recycled 95% but the process of recycling is so complex that only 5% of are recycled till now.
So these are the concepts i learned from this video. Thank you....
If we talk about he initial parts where he talks about non carbon pollution the main points are
So again, most of the
The environmentalists are gonna be pissed of this video. Bro,great video.
the last point clearly summarizes the debate🙌🏽
Excellent buddy, keep it up ❤
Best Indian informative channel
Amazing video. Love the research. This is very much needed to bring everything into perspective.
Great video 👌🏻👍🏻
People
Should realise this that Evs are not only going to kill the thrill of driving but also kill the nature around us . 😢
The amount of details you have included in this was shocking and damn impressive. I have always wondered that EVs are not that environmentally friendly, but after this video, I can reach to conclusion. Appricate your efforts for making such videos for awareness.
We understand how much effort it requires to o make such videos....very good work team Biturbo👍👍👍
Eye opener. You changed my perspective. Thanks for making this.
Superb video. Instead of EVs we should develop technology to reduce tail pipe emission.
Wow! Really deep information. That's not a easy task. Please keep it up. We value your hard work. Thank you a million...❤️
Waited long for this video
govt is not fool to promote EVs, if we compare the pollution graph, ev may pollute more in the beginning because of which the graph of ev starts high, but it doesn't increase steep, it will almost remain plain but when an Ice car is manufactured, after that the graph grows steep and keeps getting steeper as aging of the ICE cars and soon goes over the ev graph
Modern ICE with catalytic converters produce almost negligible pollution
I feel the whole Electric only mandate is not ideal. We should take this gradually and find the best balance of different modes of fuel/engine.
Kudos to the effort! Great content.
An unique video with lots of effort ,,thanks to your team ❤
After Palki Sharma report on EV car emission Biturbo is only channel to explain this topic in detail
KUDOS team
Thanks Biturbo media👏
work you have done for this video is tremendously incredible..... complete research article in single video..
Great job! Very well researched and up to the points!
EVs are necessary to counter the monopoly of the oil-producing countries.
Conclusion: EVs are good for India . Kudos to your research ❤
We appreciate your efforts in bringing this forward and this changed my mind for sure,
Thank you for sharing ,I hope this brings some sense to our authorities who are hell bent to turn everything electric
Great information . Eye opening facts about carbon emissions
i am glad i won every kind of solid argument of ev-vs-fuel cars, in your previous video comments, in which ev fail and have no future. nice to see ice cars still making sense.
thanks biturbo media for detailed analysis of ev's manufacturing.
Excellent work... Very informative thanks sir... Keep making such beautiful videos... Very nicely explained
Thanks
Very elaborated and spot on video, I was looking for this kinda video and didn't find anything sensible
Ev are the future , use of AC induction motor and sodium ion significant reduce the emission , consider the fact that ICE manufacturing is very old and has been refined during the long period , as ev production rises the production emission will decrease. Yes today ev is almost equivalent in emissions but will decrease over the period of time.
