The same way anyone rides a bike. Europe never had regulations on standard helmets although the headgear safety helmet was used. If you know how to ride a bike properly a helmet is great at protecting your head although the rest of your body can sustain heavy injuries which can be worse than a head injury. Facial injury has been some of the worst injuries which the most recent Fabio Jacobsen had a helmet on at the time of the crash and still almost lost his life. I have a plate in my head from a bicycle crash, my helmet saved my life. Giro
