- This is the moment a baby orangutan cried as he was rescued from being kept in a cage - for three months.
The young ape, named Batis, was held by a man who claimed he found him on the edge of the forest where he was working in Borneo, Indonesia.

It looks & feels so comforting when the lady with the PPO stuff on, holds out her arms to take the little Orangutan. She looks as if she's sympathizing with the baby, like its her own child. I love that.

He wasnt crying, he was screaming. Poor thing was terrified, maybe even traumatized. At least he's safe now.

To find a baby orangutan without it's mother means that the mother was killed. Orangutans stay with their mother for up to 7 or 8 years. The palm tree production has butchered our rainforests and devastated the orangutan population. BOS has an amazing orangutan rehabilitation facility that helps these majestic creatures get back to the wild. The damage that has been done is irreversible but hopefully, in time, maybe the Indonesian government can mend some of the damage that has been done.
I am glad for these videos.
Yall have brought palm oil to the attention of alot of cattleman.
Its so much cheaper than cotton seed oil. And is higher in fat and takes longer to go bad.
These videos have switched over about every cattle farm in 4 county's.
Using palm oil helps so much.

- I flew over the ocean once in a helicopter. Took 6 hours. For six straight hours at 55mph all I saw was water in every direction. A terribly vast ocean of never ending water. Fly over Indonesia and see the same kind of view but with palm trees and then tell me about how good the tree's oil is. How many dam square acres is enough? Ten thousand? Hundred thousand? A million? ten million? Cause it went well beyond ridiculous and even beyond greed and buddy, that's f@$5kin hard to do!!

It's no different than keeping a human baby in a wooden cage by itself. Orangutans and humans share 97% of the same DNA so these people are essentially putting their baby cousin in a crate alone

OMG this poor little baby is terrified!!! Imagine being that young all alone in the world being cared for by another species because your mother was killed by that same species that you are now surrounded by... I thank all of the amazing people who are looking after this little one and I wish it all the best in life which it certainly deserves!!!
Poor baby was so stressed being handeled by humans, that he pee'd in stress at 1:22 imagine what humans did to his mother the last time he was ripped from someones body to be this scared and stressed :(

I love how they transport them on stuffed animals! It must be so comforting for the babies to attach onto something soft.

One of the rescuers said that baby orangutan has a very slight difference with a human baby. Poor creature we treat them like animals.

He's so little! They would have fetched a high price for this baby. I'm glad he was rescued before he was shipped off to someone who wanted a trophy pet then neglected him when he got bigger and not as cute.

The worst part about this is that at that age, that little baby would be clinging to his mother 24/7. He's far too young to even consider playing on branches right next to her. Not having another body to press up against is incredibly traumatic for that poor baby. I'm glad that he was found and hopefully will one day become a release candidate.
The poor little one is so alone and frightened. Yet he clings to the woman carer as she cares for him. Just look at the way he cries and let's himself go as he's put into the transit cage. It's probably the first time in a long while he's felt safe and now he's been taken away from his carer. I know this video is some time ago, but does anyone know how this baby is now? Thanks.

The Mother's are killed so that people can trap the babies and keep them as prisoners, I mean "PETS" and lock them in tiny cages & feed them the wrong food & abuse them until they're so tortured and stressed that they become extremely ill until eventually they die.

The video showed the importance of Primates needing something to wrap their arms & bodies around as they do their mothers. Therefore, it's especially traumatizing to lock a baby in a cage without anything to hug.
Imagine sticking a new born baby under the house, locked up in dark, dank space all alone. These orangutans are not much different from us. I’m happy to know it will be well cared for now.

Poor little one. Imagine going from your mothers arms to a cage surrounded by scary beings like the one that killed your mother. Then, what you have to hold onto from then on is a stuffed animal. Thank God the rescue came.

There are good and bad in the world, plus those who don’t know any better, thankfully we have some very amazing people in this world who have very big hearts !! Plus that poor guy (or gal) got pissed on (1:28) as they where trying to help the poor little baby ! Thanks to all those who help our fellow humans and animals who we share this amazing world with !!
Note how they pass it at the end via a large teddy bear it rest on and clings to. This is the most important thing to do with any baby non-human primate and the main thing that prevents them from developing captivity psychosis.

Poor Baby How I wish I could love and comfort him. I pray he is healthy and happy from this point on. Where can we donate to help these babys thrive in life? Where can we volunteer in a place where they rescue baby orangutans? Where can we send supplies to help?
The best way to help is to stop buying products containing the oil from the trees that they plant after cutting down the forest that is the orangutans habitat, and campaign for food manufacturers to use other oils like corn even if it costs a few pennies more. This is all about big company profit!!!!!!

The majority of sanctuaries that rehabilitate and teach rescued orphans to survive in the wild don't allow volunteers on site. The few that do, however, don't allow volunteers to come in contact with the orangutans. Ensuring the orangutans do not become habituated to humans is a top priority as it gives them the best chance at a successful wild release. Donating money is a great way to support these sanctuaries as most are nonprofits and rely on fundraising to continue their work. Virtually adopting an orangutan is also another way to support them.
