• KISS - Gene Simmons Ba...
Today on the channel, we are once again checking out KISS as they perform their song "I Love It Loud" in 2010 during the Sonic Boom Over Europe Tour! Obviously since the last performance we saw, the stage production has increased 100 fold! Gene hit a bass solo and then was lifted up like 60 feet in the air which is insane! I had alot of fun checking this one out and I can't wait to hear more! Hope you enjoy! #reaction #kiss #kissarmy #70srock #genesimmons #classicrock #acefrehley #petercriss #paulstanley #musicreactions

So EPIC!!! From the blood to the flying it was a performance like no other!
Gene’s costume weighs about 30 pounds, and his boots weigh about 8 pounds each. Don’t listen to the haters, all the eras are great and every member has had something to contribute.
Well, Fake Ace and Fake Peter are not really members of the band as much as they are hired musicians. Gene and Paul owns KISS, and the only others who have been co- owners of the band and thus actual members of the band were Ace and Peter. How anyone can call the last decade of KISS a great era is beyond my comprehension. It's a semi- cover- band FFS 😄
Even Vinnie?
@@michaeldique Its been 20 fucking years since eric and tommy joined the band, get over it already. Were you also bitching when Eric Carr or Bruce joined?
@@NecramoniumVideo Eric Carr had his own character and Bruce joined post makeup unlike Singer and Thayer who were hired as replacements for Peter and Ace to keep the casual fans spending their money.
Gene's costume does not weigh 40 lb. That's what he tells people. Ever worn a Halloween costume that looks like metal but it's really made out of Styrofoam? That's what his costume is made out of and that is not 40 lb of styrofoam.
Who said they didn't enjoy it? Stay home then this is always AWESOME
Don’t forget the deep cuts: “anything for my baby“ “makin’ love” “Rock bottom” “sweet pain” “rocket ride” “larger than life” “almost human” “shock me”
There are great songs and performances in all eras of KISS.
It seems to be that way! Loved this one for sure! 🔥
Don’t listen to those „fans“ saying you shouldn’t go past the 70s. There’s tons of great stuff from all eras. 80s Kiss has some of the coolest tunes. Revenge is also amazing. And the show from the 2000s till the end is by far one of the best they ever had.
Tons of lip syncing too. ruclips.net/video/K7qBFY0CpyM/видео.html
Most people don't realize that Gene is afraid of heights. He did it for the fans! KISS was the first concert I saw (was 8 yrs old) in 1976) and I've seen them 25 times live!
If you hate them... I guess too bad for you. These Guy are Bad A$$ Live ! Not just the show, the Rock & Roll !🤟😎🤟
A show full of lip syncing from 2018 on though. ruclips.net/video/K7qBFY0CpyM/видео.html
you need a song Ace sings like shock me, Rocket Ride, or new York groove
Appreciate the suggestions!
I've seen them 5 times. Greatest show on earth. Keep enjoying them. I've been listening since 1975 when I was 5 years old. I'm one of those fans that has liked all the changes and differences in their music throughout the years.
I saw them in 1982 in Chattanooga TN,great concert!
KISS always gave their all! Absolutely love them!
KISS #1
“Rock am Ring” draws about 90.000 spectators. Held annually at the Nürnberg Ring in Germany.
This is the side of KISS that real KISS fans appreciate. The non fluff radio stuff. This is heavy. You have never experienced life until you have seen KISS live!
Revenge is a great album. Even the deep cuts are awesome. Give that album a listen.
Thanks so much! 🤘🏻
I can think back to being in high school during this era! My buddy and I would watch this show almost every weekend. I actually have one of Eric Singer's drum heads from this night in my collection!! We saw them a few months after this when they came back to the States. I have one of those drumheads too!! 😂 Thanks for speaking up about KISS' musicianship and yes, all eras are great. But THIS is MY KISS! 🤘😎🔥 Great videos!!
For every hater (who are clearly jealous), there are thousands of screaming star-struck fans. Just look at the audience. It's that way in every city all over the world. Also, almost all hair bands of the 80s were heavily influenced by Kiss.
80's Kiss with Kulick and Carr doesn't get enough love. Tears are falling, Hide your heart, Rock Hard are some good tunes to check out. Definitely a bit different from the older stuff, but man are those songs underrated.
That was my favorite lineup those guys were and are awesome musicians. I love 70's KISS but Carr and Kulick were a better fit imo. Ace is still one of my all time favorite guitarists he just couldn't cut it back then with touring.
How many American bands have come and gone in the last 50 years kiss is iconic like it or not haters
Probably my favourite song by them!
Love young raw KISS, love later stadium show KISS! Seen them live twice, first in the 2000's when they returned to make up, then last year for the final tome tour. Both times brilliant shows!
Spits blood and breathes fire. That is classic KISS. Happened in the 70's also.
They had one of the best stage shows ever. Imagination runs wild in what they do.
My favorite part of the show
Saw them in 1975 and it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. No matter what era, KISS is an epic band. Forget about those haters and enjoy the music journey you're on.
Whoever said they don't like this side of Kiss is NOT a Kiss fan! It's the music AND the theatrics.
I've seen them about 5 times or so, with and without make up. I tell you there is nothing like a KISS concert. You get your money's worth for sure. Last time was in 2019 right before the world collapsed and it was F I R E!!! Even way in the back at an outdoor amphitheater, the music is so damn loud and you can still feel the heat from the pyrotechnics when they go off - and they go off a lot. If you ever get a chance to see them, Steven, you have to go. You have to! I don't care how old these guys get, they still bring the magic.
The only period I hate from KISS is their brief dip into disco. I get secondhand embarrassment when I hear it. After that I didn't really follow them as much but would still go to a show when I could. Gene is my favorite singer out of all of them. His songs just hit harder. You just saw he spits blood, but he also spits fire, (every show I've seen). God Of Thunder is his song. I thought that's where the blood comes out but I clearly saw it here so now I'm confused. Maybe it's the spitting fire during that performance. That would be a great one to see if there's one out there.
My three favs from them are
Cold Gin 🔥
Strutter 🔥
Deuce 🔥
oh, and Detroit Rock City 🔥 and Love Gun 🔥
That's it............. I think. 🤘🤘
Well if your gonna do this you absolutely have to check out Ace’s Shock Me lead solo where his guitar catches on fire. Probably the ultimate showmanship event they ever had. He was at his peak in playing skills at this point also imo.
Early on Gene would blow fire at the shows. Check it out.
Loved your reaction 😍❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much! 😁
One of the best show they did was Revenge from 92. I seen about 15 shows that year and the best was done in a small place in Atlanta, Ga. called Center Stage. It was a theater and about 1800 people were thee. But God it was LOUD and great!
You could never beat a KISS stage show, they set the bar so high no other band came close, Gene spitting fire, piro, concussion bomb's, fireworks, explosion's, along with some great Rock'N'Roll!!! KISS gave you your money's worth, and then some, they gave you a show, I seen them 5 times starting back in 1984 with their Animalize tour and the hit song "Heavens On Fire", kick ass song. 🎉🎉
I saw this show live at 2010 in Centre Bell at Montreal. I slept outside the theater to had the best ticket and is the best live show I ever seen. Energy, pyrotechnics, great performance, everything was here, I have paid 125$ for that and I had for my money for the era 2010
Really appreciate you doing these. Its a lot of fun to experience KISS again thru your eyes. Makes this lifelong KISS fan very happy. And really gain
A deeper appreciation for
The music. So many of the early compositions are deceptively
Complex.
Most of us enjoy something from nearly every period of the
Band
Sorry you never got to see
Them Live
The reunion shows would have been the best time
12 Times. Been On the KISS Kruise. I Love the Final Line up with Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer! Here's the VIP Soundcheck I got to see in Saskatoon November 13, 2023 ruclips.net/video/JT8l3k80zk0/видео.htmlsi=35IKiFFCCTmJllWT
They must have done something right considering their first album dropped in 1972, and there last show was December of 2023 at Madison Square Gardens I know they didn’t have all original members but what band does anymore.
Don’t listen to people stuck in the past. KISS has been kicking ass for 50 years! Actually the best musicianship was 80’s and 90’s. To truly get it, you HAVE to watch Rock and roll all night or the opening, Detroit Rock City, LIVE, from their last ( End of the Road ) tour. I’m a lifer and have seen them 30 times. First time I was 9 and last year at 54. What a great soundtrack to my life. Keep it up, really enjoy watching you get it as well. 🤘
People telling you not to go past the 70s are full of shit! The music did change in the 80s and 90s but they still put out some Hella songs during that time. The make up came off in 83 and they still put on killer shows just not so much on the theatrics. After getting a new drummer and going through three guitarists, they settle down in 85 with Paul Jeanne, Eric Carl drums and Bruce Kulick on guitar. Those four guys were awesome together and probably would’ve stayed with that lineup if it wasn’t for the untimely death of Eric Carr and 91. The original for reunited in 96 and put the makeup back on and brought back the over the top stage show that you’ve seen so far. Any live footage from that era or the reunion tour itself is awesome. I highly recommend all of it.
my Wife And I Got to see Them On the end of the Road tour in Chicago ILL.And I don’t think I Can Go to a Better show than KISS.
You got the vibe right there brother. It's fun. That's all that's ever supposed to have been. You get it. LET'S GO! Keep doing that tagline
Let’s gooooo! 😄
For this song, you should check out the studio version / video. You get to see ERIC CARR (RIP) and his TANK TURRET w/ EXHAUST PIPES DRUM RISER. The whole stage was the front of a tank with the gun turret as Eric's riser.
The riser would spin left & right and "shoot" pyros blowing up the speakers hanging from the ceiling.
As one of the earlier Kiss fans, since 1975, it’s always great to see someone discover them. Your reactions are a blast to watch.
Really appreciate that and glad you are enjoying them! Have a great day!
Check out "100,000 Years" from Winterland '75.
Firehouse , great song , special effects and fire breathing !
You either get kiss or not. They wanted to be the band they never saw. Critics shit on kiss...they provided 2 hours of entertainment ...not a band that was political or tried to save the whales. Just pure rock n roll and fun. Nothing wrong with that
You gotta imagine going to a see KISS in 1974, in a dark, seedy club with no airconditioning. Than half way through the set Gene suddenly steps out in the front, and does his blood spitting act. It was unheard of! Nobody really did this kind of stuff, Alice Cooper did some on small scale, like the guillotine on the stage, but KISS made allot of noise with theatrics that was done by many bands before, they just combined it and we got what we call a stadium rock show these days. Everything that is now being used in concerts, the pyro, fireworks, flying and shooting guitars, big lights, other theatrics, they were the first ones to really create the big stadium rock shows.
Yeah that’s wild! I bet the people in those clubs were shocked beyond belief! 🤣
@@setonhillstudios I got basically everything from KISS (see channel for my kiss docu), every bootleg, and from one show in 1975 you heard a guy just go, ew gross! and another loving it!
I saw KISS live in 79, 82 and 83. I went to the War Machine Tour and the Dynasty Tour so I've seen them in every decade. In the 80's live. It's different in each decade but great. I loved this album. You should check out War Machine. Great tune.
Love yr channel and enthusiasm brother
Really appreciate that! Having alot of fun exploring so much music! Thanks for watching! 😄
I cant believe I missed this one! My fav song from them & so glad I got to see Kiss in 2019. Gene & his family is so hilarious, during your free time check out the Gene Simmons family jewels the tv series
More 70s deep cuts: “love her all I can“ “hard luck woman“ “I want you “
Love Her All I Can is one of the most underrated songs!
Even though this concert footage is from 2010, "I Love It Loud" is from the "Creatures of the Night" album, recorded in 1982. At that point in its career, Kiss was probably at its lowest point in popularity. After going pop for three albums, the band lost its core audience. The "Creatures of the Night" album was a butt crusher and represented a return to hard rock form because they were hungry again. "I Love It Loud" was the single off the album. "Creatures of the Night" was also the last album with makeup until the reunion.
"Let Me Go Rock and Roll" from the same Rock Am Ring concert is also a good one to check out.
Let's GO!!!!
X 100 😂
@@1968spikey I know I watched a bunch of his videos lately when I saw this pop up and the first thing I said was >>>>> Let's GO!!!!!
@@deputyduffy same. I love his enthusiasm though.
Let’s goooooooo! 🤣
Just found your channel while skimming through some old Kiss stuff on RUclips. Love your recent reviews of them. I was at their last show in MSG. They still put on one hell of a show.
I am more of a fan of their earlier stuff from the 70s, but man don’t sleep on the 80s and some of their killer songs off of Revenge from 1992. The Unplugged is also highly recommended. Awesome show.
Definitely get some videos of all eras. Can’t wait to see the next video.
Appreciate it and glad you found the channel! Thanks for hanging out!
Eric Singer is the drummer here. Also on Unplugged .
I've seen them close to 20 times.
Their musical peak is at 1975 Alive!, 1984 Animalized live and 1993 Revenge era. Rate Animalized live on MTV
Lots of better blood-letting creature badness when he does God of Thunder. Not sure which one to recommend. Thanks for the KISS rabbit hole. Let’s go!
Thanks for watching! Definitely having a blast checking them out!
Seton Hill, I have loved Kiss since 1976. I've only been able to see Kiss live 2 times because they hardley came through my area. Also, fi ances sometimes got in the way, however, never enough times even if I saw them 50 times. Also, I encourage you to venture whatever era they went through.
Appreciate that and you can call me Steven! Have a great day and thanks for hanging out! 😄
All those Rock Stars who were KISS fans growing up , and said to themselves I want to do that when I grow up , only a few including Eddie Van Halen and Sebastian Bach admit to being fans and inspired by KISS ✌️❤️💋
My kids know that Im a KISS fan and it rubbed off on them my younger son was Gene Simmons on Halloween 3 times , We went to their first KISS concert and the look of terror on my daughters face watching Gene spitting blood was epic ,dont worry she was 22 at time , we had a great time together thanks KISS ✌️❤️💋
Haha 😂 That’s so awesome! Love it!
Kiss was great from start til the end, you must see kiss in every era.
Ya gotta see the video where his harness gets stuck as they lift him up......hilarious as hell.
Oh snap! That is hilarious! 😂🤣
Shit happens in a complicated show like this
35 years after the midnight special. Gene said his costume weighed about 50 pounds and 7 inch heels as well. What you can't see on videos is that they looked like giants on stage
To sum up KISS.
They based themselves on the Beatles where they all sang.
They wanted to be 4 Alice Coopers in appearance and shows.
And they wrote Anthems like Slade.
And the haters are angry because Kiss made it.
" He's out here looking like a Creature of the Night!". That was funny because that is actually the name of one of their albums. Also, KISS has been awarded the most Gold albums of any American band in history. As far as how much the suit weighs, Gene has said it was about 70 lbs.
this song is on Creatures Of The Night
That is hilarious! 😂
I've always liked this song and it came from a pretty good album. People can say what they will about Gene Simmons, but he always loved doing a great show for the fans.
Their super heroes that how they got around.
I love "I Love It Loud" from Creatures Of The Night, but I also like to "Shout It Out Loud" from Destroyer.
70s Kiss is the best Kiss, but many bands would have killed to have a career like Kiss had in the 80s as well.
All eras are great, and valid! I've been a fan since I was a little kid in 75/76. I saw KISS a total of 52 times! Don't forget to check out the non makeup years with Eric Carr and Bruce Kulick.
See everything about KISS. You'll love it.
Check out this same song from 83 in Brazil. Record breaking crowd for a single concert held for a long time.
Sound isn't great but video is Epic.
I was at the only show KISS ever played as a 3 piece band. It was when I was living in San Diego. It was at Camp Pendleton or one of the military bases around there and was late 2000s-early 2010s. Paul has always had a heart issue. The crowd is getting impatient because the show is late. Finally someone comes out to tell us that Paul had a medical issue and was being taken to the hospital. Everyone was worried. Shortly after, Gene comes out to give us the full rundown of what's going on. Then he gives us the option of canceling the show and getting refunds or, they can perform as a 3 piece, without Paul. Of course we all said we wanted them to perform. Imagine, as a musician yourself, having the rhythm guitarist and singer of probably 60% of your songs goes down 5 minutes before showtime but you're going on to perform anyway with absolutely no rehearsal for that. But that's what they did. They cut some of Paul's songs and added in some of Gene's. Gene sang some of Paul's songs, which was funny because Gene is notorious for forgetting the lyrics to his own songs so we had to help him out a few times with Paul's songs. Paul was missed and the songs did sound different without the extra guitar but it was still a great show and it's cool to be able to say "I was there" for the only show like that of it's kind.
What a crazy story and it’s definitely a lifelong memory! Good on them to power through and do the show anyway!
Kiss actually played a show or two in the early 80s when they were promoting the Elder album on some TV appearances. Ace was very unhappy about the Elder record and was considering leaving the group, which he did, and wouldn't show up to do the promotional events, they weren't full concerts, but were events with only 3 Kiss members playing.
The fire breathing and blood spitting was always a part of the show going back to the very beginning.
KISS has ALWAYS had haters.., and the haters will NOT be remembered, KISS WILL. 💥
So true!!! 💯 Haters are everywhere but it’s all just noise! 🤘🏻
Also, KISS has gems sprinkled through all the decades 💎, CERTAINLY not just the '70s.
Another song to listen to is Shock Me from Alive 2, Aces vocals are great!
Thanks so much! 🔥
Ha!..Creatures of the Night is the name of one of their albums😆🤘
That’s what someone else said! Hilarious! 😂
He also eats/breathes fire!!
That’s wild! 😳
@@setonhillstudiosThe song is called Firehouse. Complete with lights and sirens when done live.
Saw them 3 times:
1985 cobo
2003 comerica with aerosmith & ted nugent
2009 cobo
Came out with stunted hearing 3-4 days each time and felt the pyrotechnic heat at comerica. Awesome show each time never disappointed.
@@billsabo7943 I heard they are some loud shows!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
@@setonhillstudios if the amps don’t get you the fireworks will. But would go again in an instant.
Great reaction. . Why do ppl hate on other bands? Just like why ppl hate on Harleys. It’s envy. And it proves they have something wrong upstairs as they live their sad life. Be happy. Enjoy every second. And when you find something in life that you like then enjoy it. Hating on others is toxic to your life. Btw: Simmons rocks!!! Gene flying never gets old. ❤️
Check out Gene doing God Of Thunder from Largo Maryland December 20 1977. How they did it back then.

Let me go rock and roll is also an awesome song from this performance at rock am ring 2010
You're doing great, bro. Don't sweat the negativity. I (Frank) am a big KISS fan. NO ONE else has done what they have done in the music business. No one has come up with as good an idea and they withstood the TEST of time! I love your reactions. I'm probably your dad's age. 😆
Really appreciate the kind words and thanks for hanging out! Means alot!
Gene Simmons is know for his extra long tongue 👅
😳
Again, KISS 1975. The pinnacle of cool. Winterland. The gear on Gene is about 35 lbs.
Man, I am Kent the KISS Fan. Walking, talking KISS encyclopedia. Fan since 1975.
If you want kiss info, you just gota ask.
Anytime man, anything and everything KISS.
For some KISS from the 90s, I'd recommend "Unholy." From the mid-80s "Burn Bitch Burn," or "No, No, No."
Go god of thunder 70's!
anyone notice they used the normal kiss sign in Germany?? usually they aren't allowed to used that sign. wonder when that changed?. seen them bout 25 times
Kiss without make up is my favoritt version! Check out alive 3 and revenge
Who cares what the hater's say..do your thing...if their music wasn't good they wouldn't have sold over 100 million albums....... Shock Me (Live Ace Frehley singing and solo)
I seen them every year from Alive in 1975 until Creatures of the Night in 1982. Never went to see them after they removed their makeup. After they put it back on I seen them in 1995.
There are a lot of comments from ppl that don't understand just what it was that you felt watching those old school vids!!! It was real it was authentic, it was unmatched and it was a moment in time that cannot be reproduced. If you're interested in it there is plenty to check out. Otherwise you don't get it and won't get it.
Gene image is the "Demon!" Stanley "Star Child"
You can ridicule Kiss all that you want, but the fact is that they did keep the engine running for 50 years and made them quite wealthy guys - that is, if you stayed in the band. 😂
And the shows are second to none. It’s world class entertainment.
Fun Fact: This was written by Bryan Adams!
I dont know anyone else commented on this or not but it's obviously not real blood. It's red food coloring, syrup, egg yolks ,strawberry yogurt made to look like blood.Gene's best bass solos were in the 70's.
He was alergic too citrus, so he chewd on citrus befor the show and popped his blister in the shows so they begin too bleed.so its his own blod
Vinnie Vincent song! Check out Kiss in rio/Sao Paolo W/ vinnie and carr!
Say what you will about Kiss as a band or Gene Simmons as a person you can't deny they give a killer live show every time and have some amazing songs.
You should check out the guitar and drum solo from this show, it’s one of my favourites 🤟🏻
Sweet!!! Appreciate the insight! Definitely have to check that out! 🤘🏻
At 7:07 you had a KISS reaction. You get it now. My wife HATED KISS...until her first live show. Same reaction. She gets it now, big time. Dad was right wasn't he?
Haha 😂 That he was!! Thanks for swinging by the channel!
I love all eras of Kiss. Although I like Gene's songs better. I was born in 69, so I can appreciate all they have to offer. I only got to see them in concert once. It was awesome! You need to check out the official video for this. It was recorded in 1982. I own many albums and some of my favorite songs are I LOVE IT LOUD, She, War Machine, Dance all over your face, Cold gin, God of thunder, Domino...
BTW, I love your channel!
Don't listen to the ones that say stick to just the 70s or just one Era. Check out stuff from the entire 50 year career. All lineups. Great stuff everywhere. Don't listen to the clowns
