I don't remember anyone on the Thunder or their fans slandering Micic. In the minutes he played, he was always a steady hand and finding ways to impact the game. I think the Thunder signed him because they felt he would be a great veteran presence to help guide a young team, but the whole Thunder squad has been so damned good and mature, he wasn't needed for that purpose. So, Micic was more of a luxury than a necessity. He is perfect for a team like San Antonio (or Charlotte), assuming they want to actually win games. Actually, he would be great for just about any team who needs to bolster their lineup at the guard position.

As a Serbian, i've seen Micić develop since he was like 16, and man i must say it really took a while. He showed talent early on, but was a late bloomer at the top level. There were times in his career where almost everybody thought he is just not going to make it big, and important years approaching his prime many instances he wasn't a part of the national squad while some senior guys in the summit of their careers took what should've been his place, it seemed as if the federation and the basketball council gave up on him even as Teo was approaching retirement. He already proved everyone wrong, and with this charlote episode has shown that he can hang just fine with the best of the best. Good for him. In terms of further opportunities, i highly doubt he will be given any significant role in a playoff team, because of 3pt% and his defense that is exploited even in europe at times, as he is known to be a mediocre defender on his best night. As for Vezenkov, i think his play style is a better fit for modern NBA and may prove to be a valuable 15-20min piece on a contending team.

Drazan Petrovic was the best example of that. He won more than 20 trophies in Europe, he was a world champion, European champion, etc. in one game he scored 115 points, and he was drafted in round 3, pick 60, by the trail blazers, and they didn't give him a chance to play, for two years he was bench warmer, the biggest European star, the world champion was a bench warmer in Blazers. Later he was transferred to New Jersey, and he was shining there, In one interview they asked Reggie Miller, who is the best shooter in the NBA, he said Drazan Petrovic, no doubt about that. He was on the wrong team, and he couldn't show his skills, many good players were destroyed by bad coaches.

Micic didn't play defense -- that was a big reason why he got few minutes in OKC. The Thunder system stresses defense among other things. A Thunder player who doesn't play defense isn't going to get much playing time.

Sasha might be good for his three point but also got limited minutes in Sacramento but Micic he is much happier to be in the spot for Charlotte not only that if he keeps up he could play alongside with Lamelo ball and Miles bridges next year. Bertans was also playing well for Charlotte as well despite of his horrible contract of 17 million over 4 years, he proved that he could still be in the league a key piece as a role player for his 3 point shooting. Charlotte got almost everything back in return for Gordon hayward 2 former European MVPs, Seth curry and Tre Mann with 2 second round picks.

It's true - and the best way to adjust is to sit on the tub.
