Gunnar Henderson might just be the best player in baseball right now. He's a threat to knock it out of the park every time he's at bat. Even if he doesn't he's a threat to Rob you of all your bases when he's on, or score from first base if a ball makes it to the wall. He'll pluck line drives out of the air by jumping 4 feet off the ground. He'll run from the infield all the way to the plate or the side/back walls to catch a pop up. He does literally everything, and he does it well. It's so refreshing to see a player on this team that genuinely wants to make every single play in the game. Adley's the young leader, and he deserves to be. But gunnar's the star

People forget the Orioles had the highest payroll in all of baseball early in the Angelos era before the insured Belle contract he didn't have to pay off turned him off until Chris Davis, who put the final nail in that coffin.

The short run of success ended when they let Weiters go and their suspect pitching staff was decimated by mediocre game callers behind the plate. Letting Matt go to the Nats cost us at least 25 wins. If you were to say they tanked, they did so from 2019-21. The rebuild was remarkably short considering it was a complete overhaul from the bottom to the top.
You acknowledge it at the beginning, but the biggest thing holding baseball back now after the rule changes (which were awesome) is payroll. Those teams that spend 3x as much are simply going to do better on the average.

We just have so many guys that are hot or cold and it's clear how much we relied on Bautista last year. We've also been hurt a lot more with the injury bug this year, especially among the starters. Our offense has a lot of firepower, but when it goes cold, it goes really cold.
