Finally, a bike that is listed as modified and the guy in the video doesn't start explaining where his new stickers and leds are. Great mods, very nice looking bike
I think its amazing that you took the time make your wifes bike comfortable for her...F all the haters and wanna be bikers on here most of which cant even afford the mods you did to the 250..thumbs up
People always bash the 250. I started on one and they are super fun to ride, nimble, light, great in the twisty stuff. As long as your on two wheels who cares! If she's not going to upgrade why not mod it out, make it your own.
we didn't think she'd ever want to upgrade...my wife is only 4'10" and weighs 90 pounds we didn't think she'd ever be able to ride a bigger bike but she's doing so well on this one she'll be able to move up to a bigger bike for sure...the lowering links and seat HAD to be done...and who knows, she may not want a bigger bike just cause she can ride one, she loves this bike - and she's totally worth the best bike i could give her
@iTheGeek, it's the tires that flip the bike and hopefully it never gets that far, the frame sliders have saved the fairings many times when she's just dropped it
one the coolest ninja 250r i've seen, i have a 250r as well, if it was my forever bike, i'd put money into it as well, but since it is not, i'm waiting until I upgrade. props to the mods, looks awesome.
@TheBarberjustin it wasn't too much money to make her comfortable on the bike - all the mods were for her "comfort" level - the height adjustment, the seat, the loud exhaust, the after market mirrors with blinkers, frame sliders...she's getting her money's worth out of it for sure - it's now her daily driver, and she gets the "thumbs up" everyday - she's lovin it
@dameinxya it is what it is, she's only 4'10' it, HAD to be lowered that much until she got comfortable riding it, since then we raised it an inch and will continue to raise it a little at a time (a small turn on the dogbones). She is now peg-legging all the time to get used to riding with it a bit taller - it only rubs now on rough rail road tracks or really rough roads - it's made her a better rider - she can handle the bike great and stands up on the pegs over rough spots
If you guys are still in Oklahoma, your husband can help me when I buy my first bike. I'm looking at a 250. I want the new 300, but if I can't get it, I want a '09-12 Ninja. First time rider and I want to be safe, so I feel 2 years or so on a Ninja will prepare me for a bigger bike if I ever want that later on down the road. Your bike is funky though. Man that's nice. Pure sexiness right there. You guys did a good job on that....no doubt.
man that looks so nice lowered i have a 2011 just like that but black and green i have the idea to lower just the back 2 inches your the first person with the 250r to lower it now i see that it looks much better that looks so wonderfull bro did you lower it yourself?
@vulture12 we didn't get the steering damper cause it was lowered - that was to prevent highway shake (which it does) and to help with steering shake on gravel roads (which it does) so all the mods do what they were intended for. the bike cost - total, $7000.00 - well worth it - to us anyway and that's what matters.
His wife's enjoyment of the bike supersedes whatever notions you may have about what one should or shouldn't do with a "beginner" bike. Besides, most of the people I've encountered that have rushed into a 600cc+ sport bike haven't been anything approaching an accomplished rider in anything other than their own minds.
thats great that you did most of the mods yourself and dont let people get into your mind about why did you do all those things on a 250r its your wifes bike and speed is not a factor its the look of the bike,i have the zx-6 zx-11 as well as the 250r and in my eyes there all fast and when people fall off a bike a bike is a bike right on bro dont never depart with it kawasaki has made a wonderful bike in a timeless style.
and to all you people who have good things to say, thank you...it was built with love and my hubby wanted my 'plain' 259 to hone and look nice and it's not as low as it was in the beginning...it's raised 3inches now and I have no problems with it...EVERYONE says it fits me perfectly!! So THANKS to my hubby for a GREAT bike- be it beginner bike or one I'll ride for years.
Wow man lol, Def the most money I have ever seen put into one of these 250's since different manufacturers started making the 250's and 300's. Looks REALLY nice bro..I give you credit..lol Your girl STILL looks tiny on that thing even with the 41/2 inch drop lol!!! I see that this was uploaded in Jul of 2011...With that said, how long did it take til she got bored with the 250 and wanted a 600??? lol...I only say that because I know many of my friends that bought there girlfriends 250's and the newer 300's and they were literally ready for a 600 in 2 weeks, so now ALOT of people out here in the North East are just getting there girls/beginners 600's....Welp, def looks really clean man...Great Job!!
@13mordeth - thanks! my wife watched your "how to ride" videos and got a lot of tips that she still uses daily...so thanks for the videos, she is a daily rider and has nearly 3600 miles on her bike in 6 1/2 months - that may not seem like alot but she tries to put at least 150 miles a week on it, even though we only live 3 miles from her work - so not bad
Hey great looking bike I'm about to buy one for my GF and was wondering what brand those lowering links were thnx for the video and plz keep em coming talked care
Alright cool , might got some time to make a small and short video about the shogun on the 250R? just a detailled look and walk around? This way I can see myself :D ! What model is yours btw?
Absolutely amazing bike you have here, love the mods you have put on it. Especially the side mirrors. Can I ask though, how tall is she exactly? Because I'm now worried I might not be able to ride this bike for myself. I'm heading down to the dealership to hopefully jump on one and see how the ride height suits me. However, I'm messaging because the suspense is KILLING me! Thanks! I'm 5 foot 6 and almost 20 years old. :(
@flamingflattier i don't know, you'll just have to sit on one - rule of thumb that we read is that to ride a bike you need to be able to sit on it and pull the kickstand up
Thanks everybody about to do more mods finally awesome stuff she's 4ft 10in been riding for awhile now only problem she had was some gravel on a tight turn handled it well but I have rode this bike hard fast crazy wheelies burnouts it showed me that it can do almost everything a 6 or liter bike can do besides the hp and stuff my friends ride it as well fun to ride they all say no problems on how low it is holes and stuff and also anybody is capable of riding a motorcycle with the right help attitude negativity never helped any body or anything this also goes for ever thing else in life.
Gina Marical, my GF is 4' 11" so I'm sure her bike would need to be lowered an equal amount. She plans on tracking it also so do you think the kickstand would scrape when bike is leaned over, since bike is lowered so much.
@RUBBERGLOVE293 - the SE (Special Edition) on the 2010 model is because it has a green rear seat, and the fairings are the same as the 1000 - thats what makes it the SE (Special Edition)
@Smelch937 I think the lowering kit (just the links were like $130.00 - Soupy's Performance - this bike also has fork risers too, i think they were like $120.00
These shogun no cut ? haven't you got to cut in a steelplate cover ? like only a small cut to get to the frame bolt at the foot cluth side? I wanna buy em too and with the 2008 model you gotta cut a bit in the cover..
and to those of you who "dislike" this video - in person there has NOT been one person who has not thought this was the "sickest" 250 they've ever seen
@albertjuniustauvic it performs great, it's definitely loud and throaty - you can definitely hear her coming and you can really tell its a racing exhaust - we're happy with it and everyone says it sounds great - will post a fly by soon, we just can't ever remember to do that
seen these bikes before aroud town one day I need to hit ya up my gf is going to get a 250 but she short as can be all of 5f 4 was wondering what it coust ya to do this work and safely
250R looks good but wow some serious mods...significant lowering and steering damper..I guess they do go hand in hand but damn like I said serious mods. How much you spend on the full bike?
What was the stock seat height and what is it now, you said you dropped it 4 inches, so is it really at about 26" now, does she have any issues leaning into the corners, anything rub the ground? My daughter is only 4'10" I'm thinking something like this would be nice.
She agrees and wishes her's wasn't so loud too - she has to wear ear plugs. She didn't want it so it wouldn't sound like a 250 but so that people would hear her coming - and they do for sure, on more than several occasions people have stopped from pulling out in front of her because they have HEARD her not seen her - but yeah, she wants a quieter exhaust. We're having problems getting it tuned right - how did yours turn out?
Hey everybody thanks for all the comments and information on everything I'm glad people like it Evey one made this a great experience be safe WHEELS UP.
Damn the handling on this bike just went to crap, but hey it's still appreciated for the hard work, I had a decently modded 250r as well prior to my current rr. Keep it up buddy.
loved it, just one think that i dont like much is the noise that thing makes, but thats just me. just love the the ride, dont matter if its a 250 or a 1 liter have fun
@chadrepsol Oh yea definitely man. Any modifications that help with highway riding I give a thumbs up to - Big or Small. Hope she is enjoying the hell out of that bike. How are you enjoying your Repsol? $7000 is A LOT of money for the Ninja 250R but like you said it was worth it to you guys and that's what matters. I am looking into buying a new generation bike. After riding my friend's CBR I have the need for speed lol
@Hemi4127 - thanks for the tip - guess i should delete this one then and do a "redo" to bleep out the tag - never thought of that and yep your right, she does love her bike - she loves her taillight - but now she wants the new ZX10R...she tried one that had been lowered and stretched and LOVES it - she has 3800 miles on hers (since late April) - she says when she get 10000 on this one she will be ready for a G - i think she's ready now
Im 5 feet tall....im thinking of getting the ninja 250... how much was it to get the bike lowered? and does your wife like it?.... i know its mostly a starter bike but for us girls i think its the one that would work best... well for us short girls. let me know cuz i really want to get one soon... oh by the way how tall is she?
@sonyhotdogs thanks bro - just wanted to show the mods and how good this bike looks lowered - it gets more attention than my 2009 Honda Repsol CBR1000RR does - but we do look good and colorful riding
@mmmmuffinman - thanks, it handles fine for her - i ride it and i think she has the steering damper too tight, but hey, its her bike and that's how she likes it - she has no problems with the handling.
We actually picked up two Ninja 300's a few weeks ago. The price of those 636's were too much. Add in that we're new to riding, it just made sense to go with a 300 for now. Does your wife still have this bike, or has she upgraded? Since we're both in Oklahoma, would you mind helping me out with mods and stuff? You seem like you know a lot about this stuff and what to do and I'm nowhere near where you are in terms of knowledge and what have you.
@yanksman159 - the steering damper prevents the "shakiness" at high speeds on the interstate and stabilizes the bike at high winds that we get in OK - she likes her steering tight - it's too tight for me, but thats the way she likes it - its her bike
your steering stabilizer isn't connected to the bolts by the tank? if it's just connected to the stem cap, then it wont help against tank slap. maybe i just dont see the bolt. i know those things are pretty expensive. (at least for my bike) just asking in case there's a second way to hook it up.
@HOLLYSSNDUHx we chose soupy's because they could be lowered more - it could be lowered 4 inches instead of 3 inches - but we eventually have settled for it to be lowered 3 1/4 inches and i think she wants to raise it 1/2 inch now
Hi Gina Marical I'm 5'6" with a 30" inseam. Suggestions if you haven't already done them: Get some Frey-Daytona Ladystar/M-Star boots. These boots are specifically-designed to give you more inseam. I wear the M-Stars. Really, it's all the same boot, just stupidly divided into gender based on size. Reason why ,is that the Daytona Lady/ M-Star GTX boot is a top end touring boot that offers a higher stand and easier rest with integrated height in the sole. There is a 2.5 cm I think 1 Inches ( US) raised support in the heel and 0.8cm about 0.32 inches raise in the toes. Greetings from Sweden.
Finally, a bike that is listed as modified and the guy in the video doesn't start explaining where his new stickers and leds are. Great mods, very nice looking bike
I think its amazing that you took the time make your wifes bike comfortable for her...F all the haters and wanna be bikers on here most of which cant even afford the mods you did to the 250..thumbs up
i keep coming back to this vid every now and then because i love seeing this bike and this video! nice work! :)
One of the nicest 250s I have seen. Great job.
I can appreciate modding this 250r because it's for your wife. Nice work!
People always bash the 250. I started on one and they are super fun to ride, nimble, light, great in the twisty stuff. As long as your on two wheels who cares! If she's not going to upgrade why not mod it out, make it your own.

The crazy thing is I'm not sure which bike I would pick given the option. Excellent job, amazing bike. Let the haters hate.
I've got a 2010 SE, it's my favorite of the stock 250's.... but these mods are incredible! The green wheels... I want those!
finally a legit repsol w/ a silver swing arm. i see regular fireblades with repsol fairings all over town haha. nice bikes!

@01Commenter10 the fairings are the same color as the 1000 and what makes it the "special edition" is the green seat
I got a lot of ideas off of your Ninja its really nice I'm just missing a few things to make it look awesome thanks!!
Excellent job!!!!! Both bikes are awesome
very very nice.. your wife will enjoy and have fun riding that. how much did you invest in aftermarket mods and parts including labour?
man that looks so nice lowered i have a 2011 just like that but black and green i have the idea to lower just the back 2 inches your the first person with the 250r to lower it now i see that it looks much better that looks so wonderfull bro did you lower it yourself?
thats a clean 250 bro. nice work
good job with the all your mods man, screw the haters
I love what you did with her bike, daddest 250 i've ever seen.

Very sweet additions.. sick bike!!
Awesome job with the 250. Great job with teaching ur wife to ride. Excellent bonding time
That's a nice looking 250r!!! Not a fan of them, but you did nice work to this one! I'd ride it!
and to all you people who have good things to say, thank you...it was built with love and my hubby wanted my 'plain' 259 to hone and look nice and it's not as low as it was in the beginning...it's raised 3inches now and I have no problems with it...EVERYONE says it fits me perfectly!! So THANKS to my hubby for a GREAT bike- be it beginner bike or one I'll ride for years.
Nice bike bro!!! I like the modz ..I also have a Ninja 250R which I modded and I gave it to my wife as a surpise.
Wow man lol, Def the most money I have ever seen put into one of these 250's since different manufacturers started making the 250's and 300's. pretty nice bike... its very low, does it not clip the ground when going over bumps?

Nice work on the bike. Looks good.
I'm from the UK, slammed bikes aren't really a thing over here, but I really like that! Would be perfect for my wife as well!!

Please explain the racing parts but lowered? you surely arnt drag racing a 250..Lowering a 250 for circuit track is trouble..
@flamingflattier i don't know, you'll just have to sit on one - rule of thumb that we read is that to ride a bike you need to be able to sit on it and pull the kickstand up

wow that is really low. has she had any trouble clearing stuff while out driving?
and to those of you who "dislike" this video - in person there has NOT been one person who has not thought this was the "sickest" 250 they've ever seen
Can't wait to hear the drive/fly by
Nice bike. Would love to hear some ride bys with that pipe. Since no ones done one.
Cool vinyls on the bottom dude, how'd u get the design
beautiful bike dude
@lengsmusic - it has two one inch for risers on it, so its lowered 2 inches
@albertjuniustauvic it performs great, it's definitely loud and throaty - you can definitely hear her coming and you can really tell its a racing exhaust - we're happy with it and everyone says it sounds great - will post a fly by soon, we just can't ever remember to do that

@chadrepsol nice! im 5'3 or 5'4 at least ,
and 115 u think i can handle the bike . is it heavy?
damn that thing looks good lowered !!
Looks good, both of em, imma starter, got my cousins 09 ninja 250r yesterday
Sounds good. Looks even better.
@Sonny91BE there is NO cutting with these frame sliders - they bolt right through the frame - just had to take off the fairings - VERY easy
@billmacy09 - no it doesn't clip - its been raised about 3/4 on inch so its only lowered 3 1/4 inches now but even then it didn't clip
A lot of people don't outgrow a 250, the bike is not as powerful as the competition but it works nicely for what it is meant for
Wow. Great job looks amazing
Great job on the 250!!! I was wondering where did you get the exhaust?
@Hemi4127 - thanks for the tip - guess i should delete this one then and do a "redo" to bleep out the tag - never thought of that and yep your right, she does love her bike - she loves her taillight - but now she wants the new ZX10R...she tried one that had been lowered and stretched and LOVES it - she has 3800 miles on hers (since late April) - she says when she get 10000 on this one she will be ready for a G - i think she's ready now
the indicators are sick!!
That little Ninja looks mean!
Seems like you put more into the bike then what you're going to get out of it when the time comes for re-sale.
we just used soupys lowering kit - they won't lower it that much at the dealership - its actually lowered 3 - 3 1/2 inches we had to raise it
Nice. Sweet Ninja.
@sonyhotdogs thanks bro - just wanted to show the mods and how good this bike looks lowered - it gets more attention than my 2009 Honda Repsol CBR1000RR does - but we do look good and colorful riding
It has two wheels, and it was built with love. Enough said :)
@mmmmuffinman - thanks, it handles fine for her - i ride it and i think she has the steering damper too tight, but hey, its her bike and that's how she likes it - she has no problems with the handling.
just wondering how are those corbin seats pretty good?? thinkin bout gettin one for the fz6
You seem like you know a lot about this stuff and what to do and I'm nowhere near where you are in terms of knowledge and what have you.
wow dude.. i should totally bring my bike for you to work on too :p
looks great..
all out for the wifey.. i'm sure she appreciates it :)
@yanksman159 - the steering damper prevents the "shakiness" at high speeds on the interstate and stabilizes the bike at high winds that we get in OK - she likes her steering tight - it's too tight for me, but thats the way she likes it - its her bike

Dude I'm from Oklahoma. Do you still ride?
@sjaxemaster11 thanks and yeah it does, looks even better in person
@HOLLYSSNDUHx we chose soupy's because they could be lowered more - it could be lowered 4 inches instead of 3 inches - but we eventually have settled for it to be lowered 3 1/4 inches and i think she wants to raise it 1/2 inch now
does the dyno jet kit affects the fuel economy have you noticed any changes on that?
does a lowering kit affect the ride for a passenger on the back? like how smooth it is?
awesome dude!
@chadrepsol were in oklahoma to you live? i live in tulsa
where did you get your levers from. i saw some on Ebay. but i think they're from china or something and it seems kinda sketchy
Hi Gina Marical
I'm 5'6" with a 30" inseam. Suggestions if you haven't
already done them:
Get some Frey-Daytona Ladystar/M-Star boots. These boots are specifically-designed to give you more inseam. I
wear the M-Stars. Really, it's all the same boot, just stupidly divided
into gender based on size.
Reason why ,is that the Daytona Lady/ M-Star GTX boot is a top end touring boot that offers a
higher stand and easier rest with integrated height in the sole. There
is a 2.5 cm I think 1 Inches ( US) raised support in the heel and 0.8cm about 0.32 inches raise in the toes.
Greetings from Sweden.
