I have the same bike, got it a week ago. I haven't had the chance to get it on the road yet. I had the crash kit (sliders, spools [cost me $36 not $7 :C ]) installed by the dealer before I even picked it up. The drop is inevitable. Love the exhaust, though a bit too loud for my tastes. It almost sounds like it's really saying "VROOM, VROOOM!" Thanks for sharing~! C:
Beautiful bike. I bought mine a couple of months ago but haven't modded it yet. I like what you've done to yours. Looks very clean and sounds great. The Yoshi exhaust looks and sounds good.
I have the zx14r. I did the same thing with my rear fender. I took a hack saw and cut it off. Looks so much better now. You have a good looking bike man.
Bike Does look and sound very good. I love the color. The mods you have done so far are very well done. Smart choice by letting the shop do the work. Anything goes wrong you can take it back. Smart choice by getting the 250 being you have lil experience riding. Be safe glad another rider is on the road. Hope to see more vids.
The sound is unbelieveable!! It sounds like a 600+cc engine! And yeah, I think you should install a ScottOiler, works especially well for a low mileage (almost brand-new) bike. Cheers man, ride safe!
awesome bike man I have the exact same one just got it a month ago. one thing you might wanna do is black out the windscreen my removing it then spray painting the inside black. Really cleans up the bike makes it look so much better. anyways congrats and enjoy man!
good choice in a starter bike i started out on a gs500f and loved it passed it down to the wife though, rode it for about a yr then moved up to a gsxr took me while to get the use to a liter bike but the gs help me a lot with the comfort zone good riding and be safe
Nice bike and nice review, I wish I had the money to get a ninja 250. I would most probably do exactly the same mods you have done. You have good ideas !
@ffmedic587- Thanks. I absolutly love the bike. Its lots of fun to ride. I'm on 150lbs and 5'9" myself so its a really good confidence booster to get your skill level up. I'll definatly keep this bike around when I do upgrade. Its great for around town and great on gas, not to mention cheaper insurance. I took it for a 60 mile trip this past weekend and was cruising @70mph on the HWY. I could have gone faster but keeping it low during the engine break in period
This bike is dame good for begineers, i bought a black ninja in 2011 and i have put the same carbon fiber yoshimura TRC exhuast pipe. its sounds great.
First thing you'd do is to change the tires on these things. I had one of these for a while, my tyre of choice was Pirelli Supercorsa SC2. But as the other guy said, you can also choose a Battlax like BT016 or BT90.
What a beauty! Oh hey here's a proposal that you might want to consider on,i suggest that you upgrade the dull looking analog speedometer to digital. It would be epic. :o
yeah man you got a nice bike.. i got one too but red. im also a rookie i have like 2 months riding. Not only is it a good for beginners but it saves gas and great for anyone trying to comute and dont have to pay high insurance or gas.
The rear reflector that was cut off isn't really beneficial compared to the ones on the side (that were left on) as the rear is actively lit by the taillight as opposed to depending solely on passively reflecting light, and thus easier to notice no matter what angle you see the bike from. The side ones are smart to keep on as there's active lighting for others to see if they're perpendicular to the bike. Either way it's his bike and he can do whatever he wants to it.
Awesome bike, I have really been looking into getting one and love the candy lime green. How do you like it? Im 140 lbs and figured the 250 would be a better bike for me over the 650. This will be my first bike and will most likely purchase one by Christmas, but will probably get one sooner.
nice bike dude. I really like that color. Thinking of getting one myself soon. I think i would put frame sliders on that ASAP. before i put on that exhaust.
I've upgraded also my N250R 2010 with Yoshimura muffler. It really much more better than the standard muffler since you can feel it boost up the power.
I like the fender on my ninja 250r (2009), always wondered why people dont like it, looks pretty cool i reckon, i get ppl complimenting on it sometimes too!?.
2 ideas 4 this bike: #1 Changing the 130 rear tire for a Bridgestone Battlax B016 o B021 150/70ZR/17M/C & #2: For that seat cowl, get the 2011 model & paint it. Ask at your local Home Depot or Lowes to match the color of the bike, they might ask you to bring in one of the parts with the color you want, and measure it from there (Use an air spray gun to paint 2 or 3 layers, let it dry, then sandpaper 2000 until smooth, then 3 coats of clear, & then polish it with machine & polishing compound).
@poet79ful I found a blog recently, where a guy took his Ninja 250 (08 model or newer) on a 2000 mile trip, and has done other long distance trips, with saddle bags and a tank bag + tent all strapped on the bike. I really enjoyed reading this blog, and some great photographs too!
Whats up man. Would insurance be cheaper on a 250 or 600? Im looking to buy a bike, But I don't want to pay no crazy motorcycle insurance. Thanks great video.
it was a trade that i couldn't refuse. the guy had a 2006 anniversary edition r1 but he was to scared to ride it. he offer me a straight trade for my 2010 250. the bike didn't even had 300 miles on it.
agreed. i was thinking it is kinda silly adding all these mods right now. i also just got the same bike and within three weeks i hit gravel and went down. if i had bought all those aftermarket parts i'd be upset if they all got destroyed. probably not the best idea until a little more experienced, but of course, just my opinion.
Well i was gonna go with Akripovic exhaust or however you spell it. but that sounds SICK Bud! Im going Yoshimura FTW. Can you tell me exactly what Pipes they are? Like the model number or name
I cant wait for my 2013 model arrived got preorder and wait for a month here in indonesia :) cost me about $5500 more or less. its my first bike too, and i am hoping Yoshimura Full exhaust system fit on 2013 model.
@Travlersjaunt- Thnaks @ pgullsri- Thats a no brainer lol. Newer things tend to cost more @raybolic- I agree. I wanted an all black but this year the candy lime green scheme was the best one @777aslar- I'll do a followup very soon. The weather on Long Island has been very crappy the past few days and I havent been able to work on it.
nice bike and mobs!! bro i have the sameone just bought it 3 weeks ago and bought new things.a nice growler exhaust loud as hell but i was in an accident two days ago. its destroyed already cuz some dum ass guy ran a red light and hit me :( so careful riding bro.
i looooooove my 08' but i want the 250. i thought about upgrading from my 250 but i just cant not yet the 250 is just 2 much fun. btw nice ninja the 12's are fuel injected.
im around 1.96 high, and im thinking about buying this bike, i head from the internet that it is a small bike, not good for tall people, so i wanted to hear what you thought about it.
get some frame sliders before you do anything else. as a new rider you have a really strong chance of dumping it or dropping it somewhere (no offense, just telling you like it is) and you dont want to have to buy new fairings for a brand new bike. sounds pretty good though... nowhere near as good as my GSXR though :P
@emtdyal i just bought a new 250r and added yoshi cf slip on exhaust to it just for better sound but im having issues with overheat after that. Will that be may be running too lean?
Beautiful bike, Im gettin the same one on April when weather will be better :)))
Nice choice dude, these bikes are so much better than their capacity suggests.
Keep up the good work modding up your bike, it is awesome stock, but the mods you did just made it cooler a lot.
I have the same bike, got it a week ago. I haven't had the chance to get it on the road yet. Awesome video! I am picking up my 2012 ninja 250 this saturday, and cannot wait! Cheers

Nicely modded! I have same bike, same color and am having a blast riding it through the mountains.
Just got the exact same bike man and love it! Awsome video and sweet video.
the exhaust sounds killer! congrats on the purchase!
The sound is unbelieveable!! It sounds like a 600+cc engine! And yeah, I think you should install a ScottOiler, works especially well for a low mileage (almost brand-new) bike.
Cheers man, ride safe!

good choice in a starter bike i started out on a gs500f and loved it passed it down to the wife though, rode it for about a yr then moved up to a gsxr took me while to get the use to a liter bike but the gs help me a lot with the comfort zone good riding and be safe

Best sounding 250 I've ever heard.
Nice bike! Even though I have a 600, I still enjoyed riding my GF's brother's 2012 Ninja 250R that he just purchased as his first bike. Ride safe!
i think i know what i will be purchasing as my first bike. beautiful bike
very nice bike looks very good, i like Kawasaki and Suzuki. I just got my full license so its either a Kawasaki Zx6r or the Gxsr 600 nice vid.
Really nice 250 n' really nice that green even more than the 250's most common green
Nice bike bro. Thought my black 2012 was the sickest by far but that green is pretty hot shit. Have fun!
as soon as I saw the yoshi's I new this was gonna be good vid!
This video really shows off the green in a fantastic manner. I'm debating between the kawasaki ninja250r and the honda cbr250r.
perfect bike for a beginner thumbs up bro !!!
bikes are like guns....start small.....good onya bro they are fun!!!!!

Good video sounds like the bike bug has bitten you. Enjoy the riding experiance.
What a beauty! Oh hey here's a proposal that you might want to consider on,i suggest that you upgrade the dull looking analog speedometer to digital. It would be epic. :o
Respect man! once you get your grips see how much fun it is :D
Changing the color of the bolts into black will give bikes an agressive look
I love that exhaust kit
yeah man you got a nice bike.. i got one too but red. im also a rookie i have like 2 months riding. Not only is it a good for beginners but it saves gas and great for anyone trying to comute and dont have to pay high insurance or gas.
Nice bike really like the color.
The rear reflector that was cut off isn't really beneficial compared to the ones on the side (that were left on) as the rear is actively lit by the taillight as opposed to depending solely on passively reflecting light, and thus easier to notice no matter what angle you see the bike from. Love your bike man.. quick question: Does the chrome plate below the exaust tip have to be there? What's it's purpose just looks?
nice bike dude. I really like that color. Thinking of getting one myself soon. I think i would put frame sliders on that ASAP. before i put on that exhaust.
Did you install the full exhaust system on your own? How did you do it? Great video btw can't wait to get that bike
nice bike dude!
That candy lime green is gorgeous I want that color on my ninja 600
I've upgraded also my N250R 2010 with Yoshimura muffler. It really much more better than the standard muffler since you can feel it boost up the power.
Nice bike man.
@jaowseph they say around 70 miles to the gallon, but it depends on how you ride it.
yes the color is sublime love the color
wow it sounds like a 500, yosh is amazing
niiiiiiiccccceee!! ^_^ ...i think i changed my mind about starting with a 600! im getting that
Sounds nice man :) I like it
I like the fender on my ninja 250r (2009), always wondered why people dont like it, looks pretty cool i reckon, i get ppl complimenting on it sometimes too!?.
nice machine! i ride a 08 zx6 but would love to have one of these to put around on for sure
Sweet bike puft!

Nice man.. i like it. I'm thinking about selling my 94 ninja 500 and putting money towards a 250r. Does it do ok at highway speeds?
@poet79ful I found a blog recently, where a guy took his Ninja 250 (08 model or newer) on a 2000 mile trip, and has done other long distance trips, with saddle bags and a tank bag + tent all strapped on the bike. I really enjoyed reading this blog, and some great photographs too!
Whats up man. Would insurance be cheaper on a 250 or 600? Im looking to buy a bike, But I don't want to pay no crazy motorcycle insurance. Thanks great video.
My bike has the Yoshimura exhaust, i wouldn't exactly say that they're insanely loud; However, i would say that they have an amazing tone.
it was a trade that i couldn't refuse. the guy had a 2006 anniversary edition r1 but he was to scared to ride it. he offer me a straight trade for my 2010 250. the bike didn't even had 300 miles on it.
sounds sick :)

Awsome sound !!!
You should make the rear wheel wider, it seems relativity easy to do and it looks alot better.
im getting mine tomorrow same color and im definetly messing with that rear fender too
if you hit little red engine cut off switch you could, or if you drop the kick stand.
I cant wait for my 2013 model arrived got preorder and wait for a month here in indonesia :) cost me about $5500 more or less. its my first bike too, and i am hoping Yoshimura Full exhaust system fit on 2013 model.
did putting that o there affect the mpg any bc it sounds sick
Love the sound.
nice moped bro
It's a heat shield to protect the rider from being burned or whatever. you can remove it
@Travlersjaunt- Thnaks
@ pgullsri- Thats a no brainer lol. Newer things tend to cost more
@raybolic- I agree. I wanted an all black but this year the candy lime green scheme was the best one
@777aslar- I'll do a followup very soon. The weather on Long Island has been very crappy the past few days and I havent been able to work on it.

Nice bike
Great sound, great video, thanks!
I have to say even though it isn't the "trademark" kawasaki green, I much prefer this candy apple colour - wish mine was this colour :)
i looooooove my 08' but i want the 250. i thought about upgrading from my 250 but i just cant not yet the 250 is just 2 much fun. btw nice ninja the 12's are fuel injected.
nice 250r!
im around 1.96 high, and im thinking about buying this bike, i head from the internet that it is a small bike, not good for tall people, so i wanted to hear what you thought about it.
did you notice any gains with the dynojet?
Nice Bike ! i want one
nice bike bro, im pretty jealous :)
lol!! you chopped off your rear fender using a saw? but that's one bad ass ninja.....
This was posted months ago, after all that riding do you feel somewhat bored with your bike, like you want more power?
nice job
get a custom dash like the electronic ones if available for 2012 model and your a winner! Also get a seat cowl and some LED's in the back!!
Hey man you have a bit of a following. Nice bike. Please show us result of window shield spray painted.
70 miles and you still had the colored lines on the tires. forget about the chicken strips... you are/were the king of squids!
cool bike
did you read that it is for the aisan market only?
get some frame sliders before you do anything else. as a new rider you have a really strong chance of dumping it or dropping it somewhere (no offense, just telling you like it is) and you dont want to have to buy new fairings for a brand new bike. sounds pretty good though... nowhere near as good as my GSXR though :P
@emtdyal i just bought a new 250r and added yoshi cf slip on exhaust to it just for better sound but im having issues with overheat after that. Will that be may be running too lean?
that's a low-brainier haha
so was it that difficult and scary or you overestimated it?
@VellaTheManOfFire the 2012s came out around august
