I bought it used at a really hard time in my life and NEEDED a car. This car was great. I know they say these cars have a lot of transmission problems... I've never experienced it though.

But really to help this car you have to help it out (rev matching, WOT shifting only) and it will reward you. I loved the rev matching and helped me when I went to manual cars after.
I had a 2001 Acura CL Type S. One of my favorite cars I’ve owned. What a machine! It was my 2nd Acura of a five over the years including a 1992 Acura Legend coupe, which I loved. I have a 2003 3.0 Liter accord. My trans went out. I had it rebuilt at 160,000 and had the case bushed with steel and it fixed the chronic problems they had. I had it fixed before it blew, and the tech said if you get it done while the car still drives, it can be fixed, but if it blows, it's ruined. The. main shafts originally rode in aluminum, and that would fail. It was a 5 speed Maya, or Baya I think. Whatever a 2003 accord has. I have had many cars, but I think the J Series 2 door cars are probably the best overall cars I have ever been around. This Acura is nice.

@@BernonCars that a good deal 👌 bern.....
@ yeah bro!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾
@@BernonCarsThat’s a FANTASTIC deal, even considering the tranny swap. Love your channel and the enthusiasm you have for these classic vehicles. Finally someone else who can appreciate that these older cars are worth keeping on the road. I was burned by a 2001 Civic - beautiful car but the tranny issues forced me to get rid of it. I was in my early 20s and couldn’t afford to keep fixing it. Keep up the great work, Bern! Your personality matches perfectly with your content.😄
Transmissions in them cars are trash😂
Which is sad because this was a great car
Right it's a shame and all of them too 😂😭
Hondas always had issues with transmission idk why .
It's shocking!
those are not HID headlights
@@matrimonl yes they most certainly are 🤣
CL? You bought a Mercedes?😂
LOL imagine that colossal money pit!! 😂
@@BernonCars oh it is absolutely horrible. I've seen many a people driven to endless sorrows by these babies. Even ultra minty ones from Japan are absolute cash burners. I also remember the E 500 4matic that quickly became too much for you lol and that's not even in the same class as the CL.
I am surprised Chevy Chevy Acura would have a car on their lot that old
@@chillnndc i bought it from an old couple! 😂
