HOW BEAUTIFUL ... a great sign of respect from Stevie Wonder, in that he learned some Italian to sing at this momentous occasion. You can see him smile when Pavarotti, who obviously hadn't rehearsed much, hit a high note, or held a note through many phrases, It just didnt matter, he had only so much time, and he probably knew his days were measured at this point. Some things just should never end. It did end for me when Stevie reached up and grabbed Pavarotti's hand because the tears welled up and I couldn't see any more.
Stevie wrote the perfect song for the occasion. What a show of profound respect for The Maestro. So glad this was recorded for generations to come. The two of them singing in Italian took my breath away. I love❤ Italy and the people of Italy so very much. I miss Maestro Pavarotti. Rest Well and in Glory.

ive never seen Pavarotti outdone in a duo, but my goodness, Stevies range is unbelieveable. The mesh of these two is by far my favorite Pavarotti duet.
Often, when I listen to the above music with Luciano Pavarotti and James Brown and remember history of years ago and how they used to frown upon such collaborations in musical genre, all I can do is pray and thank God, sometimes, not having words to give expressions to my feelings welling up within. I always gave credit to Pavarotti's courage in these collabs with pop & r&b singers through the years, but they always ended up sounding like two different songs playing at the same time. This time is totally different. Even when they sing at the same time the voices don't clash, and Stevie Wonder's songwriting is something Pavarotti was able to connect with.

22.07.2024 - l listening again, it’s one of the performances by PAVAROTTI AND FRIENDS in Modena, Italy, where l visited the Grave of my beloved Pavarotti, because of him l loved Opera. He was a Rock, a genius and he always lowered his voice not to outshine his guests. Miss him sooooo much.
everytime I saw Stevie's singing I can feel his love,passion and soul thru the music. He's such a wonderful musician. I saw him a couple days ago in Java Jazz Festival 2012 in Jakarta. When the show end, my tears drop by it self. I don't know why, but later I think becoz I'm in to Stevie's music and I can understand all the msg of his songs.
