- “The ‘Lunch Money Rip-Off is still one of the most memorable episodes ever. In this episode Micheal is being picked on by the school bully and is forced to give him his lunch money. Check out this video to see what actor played the role of the bully.
Robert Grant was in another episode of Good Times when he played one of Mad Dog's (played by Oscar DuGruy) henchmen. It's an episode when they tried to force J.J. into fighting in a gang war.
I remember that one too,JJ got shot.
@@marksreviewsandrants8554 Good Times was the first TV show to address gang violence. I was impressed that Norman Lear allowed Mike Evans to create as a writer.
“ my mother took one look at me and said “ Thelma” your mother took one look at you and said “ Mad Dog!”😂😂😂 My submission for Thelma’s best burn ever!
@@LKaramazov lol👍🤣
"Aint that right Mad Dog"
This was an OUTSTANDING TRIBUTE! This Brother really shined after his acting career. May he in rest In Peace!💯😉
Oh it's a shame we didn't know about his art after his acting career ended. RIP 🖤🕊
Tell me about it …. Go figure…. we learn about this after he’s dead .. oh wow 😢
First Irene Cara, now Douglas Grant. They were both members of The Short Circus on The Electric Company.
Actually Douglas passed before Irene, he passed in 2018
@@staceelashley4611 Thanks for the information.
@@staceelashley4611 dam 2018 and we just getting wind of it come on man
Morgan Freeman was on there too. hope it doesn't happen in 3s
That’s right because I watched it!! And he was on Zoom too!! May he rise in power!!💯👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
He seemed like an intelligent Brother.
Rest in Peace
and you seem like a dumb caucasian 😂
R.I.P Robert Douglas who played a major role throughout my child hood in the 70s. The memories of his role on Good Times will always be my favorite.😊
When James yanks him back into the bedroom makes me lose it EVERY TIME(and ripped his t shirt)😂😂😂😂😂😂
Florida Evans: "It looks like he got the Big Mac after all!"
💯💥🤣🤣🤣
I wonder how many times they rehearsed that scene without laughing. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
@@harperstacey9604 I think the "snatch" ended up being a little stronger then they rehearsed....ala the ripped collar...😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Sorry to hear of his passing so much after the fact. Good to know that he was a consummate artist and educator. Someone who truly gave back to the world.
RIP robert Douglas Grant. I remember the episode when he played Michael's bully. Ohio State University, eh? I didn't know that. He's crossed over. Thank you for everything Mr. Grant. 🌹
He also played on the same show as a gang member his name was Sylvester /Tyrone.
He died in 2018

How old was he?
I'm just now seeing this,I had no idea he passed RIP
RIP to Mr. Robert Douglas Grant . This is one of my favorite episodes. I liked that he wasn't just "the bully" at the end of the show. The family and "Eddie" were able to learn from each other.
Rest in a Peace Robert, he was great, he also played mad dogs's sidekick in the episode who shot J J. Aw man 70' television, if you was born and raised in the 70s, TV was it back then. 🙏🏿
He looked like a younger version of singer Prince. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Yep, he tried to get up in Michael’s face, and Thelma pushed him back, then he says: *”Ain’t that right Mad Dog”?* 😂 I never knew that he was the actor opposing Duane for class president though. My condolences to his family. 🙏🏽
rip Robert Douglas Grant Jr. Am I the only one who has watched these episodes countless times and plan on watching them some more?
yes, cuz u have no life. 😂
No, you’re not the only one. Every time I watch this show, it’s as if I’ve never seen it before. I love Good Times! Solidarity!
Rest in Peace. Thank you for sharing your gifts and talents.
I loved his character on Good Times. I watched the "Electric Company" back in the day and just realized that the one Black kid was Eddie. Short but impactful career!! Rest in Heaven Robert Grant.

Me too
MY DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS, MAY HIS SPIRIT REST IN PEACE.🙏🏾🙏🏼🙏🏿
Wow...that episode is one of my FAVORITES as well! I often wondered why Mr. Douglas did not have more acting roles. He really played that role. I had no idea he was so diverse, and into the arts. R.I.P my artistic brother!
May this GOOD man RIP. That Good Times episode was one of my favorite episodes to watch.
R.I.P. Robert you seemed to be living a wonderful life, I'm glad I learned more about you 😃❤
He was a unique looking kid by then on Good Times
He did his thing
Remember him. He was one of the shortest bullies in history 😭😭Did a good job in both episodes of Good times. RIP
I'm sure it's more that we can't think of because most bullies are either fat or short😮
Rest In Heaven Mr. Robert Douglas Grant Jr. 🕊🌹🕯🙏🏽
I'm going to have a "Big Mac" in memory of Eddie. Rest Well.
He was an amazing talent of a man. It appears he lived his life to the fullest. His acting range was incredible. I'm definitely subscribing to this channel. RIP Mr. Grant!
He also played one of the g members that took JJ to the gang fight
Right
Now that’s the episode where I remember him the most! RIP 🖤
Yep, the episode where JJ was bullied into joining the "Satan's knights"
I think the name of the episode was "JJ and the gang", and it was a Two part episode.
That Good Times episode has stuck with me throughout my life. RIP Robert.
RIP Robert Douglas!
Thank you for this tribute.
I enjoyed that episode....he was very talented....rest in peace Robert aka Eddie.💔🙏
Doug Grant was born on May 10, 1959 in in Columbus, Ohio. He was an actor who played a school bully named Eddie. He was an extortionist who ripped off Michael's school lunches. He died on May 27, 2018 in Dayton, Ohio. 🙏🏾
Really my hometown
He looks like Alvin from the Cosby Show.😊
Yes him now! I seen Geoffrey Owens twice!
If JJ and Michael slept on the couch, where did Eddie sleep? Thelma had the only bed to herself, 🤔
@@PrimeRibb69 Eddie shared the couch with J.J. and Michael. Micheal asked Eddie if he didn't mind. Eddie told him sleeping with 3 people in the bed is like having a room to himself. He sleeps with six people in bed at home.
@@PrimeRibb69 Probably on the floor, but I know he would have been more comfortable in Thelma’s room. I know I would have.

I said the same thing.
Looked like a nerdy character.

Rest in peace Robert. Thank you for being an amazing artiste. May your rest be sweet.
I always laugh when Eddie tries to run but gets pulled back into the room by James when he decides to whoop him.
RIP and Thank you Robert for sharing your God giving gifts with us all.
The reason why that episode was so memorable is because of that ass whipping. We need more strong BLACK FATHER'S on TV and in the home ect.
Sad to hear of his passing. A very talented man. A mentor who gave much to society. I love the scene where James takes him into the bedroom for a "whooping" & he tries to escape & James pulls him back through the bedroom door!! 😂
What a wonderful life! It would have been awesome for fans of the show to know what he was doing. I lived in NYC for ten years 2000-2009 and would have visited his studio to support his work.
