there's always some trial and error when starting a road trip with a vehicle that hasn't been run or driven in 45 years! Valve seals will be the most likely problem as well as the possibility that the piston rings are stuck and oil gets into the cylinders and foul up a few plugs. I made a small DIY tool by flattening the end of a piece of welding rod or coat hanger and making a small spear point to pick the carbon out of fouled sparkplugs. The way the car looks in the rain with the patina is the perfect look for a "double or nothing drag car" pull up to the staging lane in a rusty barge with a Hemi in it. "double or nothing!"

Try what bringing an old car bavk to life ? It took me 4 months ro rebuilt my entire 8ft bed floor all the bed cross members.. the leaf spring mounts all rebuilt from scratch.. and the cabin floors. Then sort out the 360 on my 76 Jeep J10.
Then when i got it started and running i had a huge smile on my face. Drive it often now. Still needs more work like on the bpdy panels. But its totally worth it.
Especially wben youre one of the few or only people left who has one
@@jeepsblackpowderandlights4305 Driving an old car of unknown condition cross-country,....I'd need a bottle of Pesto-Bismol beside me. I was moving my father's 1962 Plymouth Saratoga (383 with Torqueflight) after sitting for years,..."Look ma,....no brakes,..." I have "something really special" I want to restore and I was considering contacting/contracting Kiwi for the restoration. I'll say one thing,....he's got guts.
What do you do for Registration and insurance? In Australia we would get a permit to drive.
I got what they call a "one way tag" that allows you to travel from where you purchased it to where you taking it. Super easy and free!! Then just just tag/register it when you get home. Insurance is just a phone call, tell them all the details and boom you're done. No safety inspections or licensing required😁😎👍
@kiwiclassicsandcustoms9160 Thanks Kiwi. We have a similar system.
Christine's Mother that's what she looks like
LOL. Dowdy step sister maybe....😎
Perhaps a silly question, or I may have missed something on a previous episode, but has that engine been set up to run on unleaded gas, or are you adding a lead substitute additive to the gas?
No just running regular gas, no lead additives. If I rebuild her I'll add hardened sets then. This trip wasn't going to hurt her. She's pretty worn already bud.
Are we there yet
😎👍
Seems so long ago! 🎉
😁😎👍
How 'bout a little wiper action?
If they worked, we just didn't have time to get to them......
