    These were the real glory days of the NFL... fans real close to the field... less suits on the sidelines... the age of great TV announcers... less polished product... made it feel like I was there.

      Sadly, the NFL is a touch football league now. Under the lie of players' safety, when it's actually for higher scores, because to stupid fans, think that no defense football is exciting.

    i'm a browns fan from california. i never have stepped foot in ohio. my family is from cuba, my two older brothers were born in miami, but i was born and raised in california. my brothers used to tell me all of the time that i had to be a dolphins fan, but i didn't like the idea of someone telling me what to do. So in 1985 the browns were playing the dolphins in the playoff and were up 21-3 at the half; it was easy to cheer on the browns to my brothers' dismay. needless to say, the dolphins came back and won 24-21 and I never have given up on the browns. it has been a rough few years as a browns fan....

    I am not from Cleveland. Not a fan of the Browns. However, THIS original version of the Browns and its fan base is one of the reasons why I came to love this game of football. What Modell did to the city and the generations of fans will never be repaired even with that expansion version that has a different fan base and no connection to the history of that city. If this new version wants to be a winner again, it's got to connect with the history of the city and its roots, not just the football history.

      Art Modell didn't just screw the Browns when he gave them to Baltimore. He screwed them when he took over in 1961(?) by firing 3 time NFL champion coach Paul Brown. He was a giant douche from beginning to end.

    I will never forget this game, I was at the jan sobieskie club in Kulpmont pa. I was with a dozen steelers fans and myself the loan Browns fan. It was great to drink beer and watch the Browns win one against the hated steelers. It was an owsome day for Eric and one of the most memorable games in my life thanks to him. Boy I miss winning, I love the Browns but it's been to long now and what we did to our classic great uniforms is a shame. You know when you have a good thing like grand moms cooking or moms home made apple pie you don't mess with it, and that's what the Browns uniforms were. Timeless, tradition , a symbol of the past , a winning recipe , they were ageless and loved ,to change them is a sin.

    I had season tickets in the Dawg Pound (we sat in the same seats starting in 1984 until they left in '95). I remember this one especially because Metcalf was on my fantasy team, and I didn't start him. My buddies sitting around me spent the entire ride home ragging on me, LOL. I haven't seen a game in person since 1995, when we tore out our bench and brought it home with us (one of my friends still has it in his "man cave"). I doubt if I'll ever go see them in person again....

    I told my friend. On the day this game was played. Metcalf is special. I said. He's the best return man going. They better not kick it to him. So after the frist touchdown. I told my friend. He will do it again. If they kick it to him. Again. And sure enough. Metcalf did. Oh how I loved seeing him. Crush the damn Steelers. One of my favorite players. Of all time.

    One of the most memorable punt returns ever because it had a little bit of everything, from Metcalf shifting and making his moves, to the fans, being late in the game, down, the Cle-Pit rivalry, Eric taking home 2 that day with the last being the game winner. Yeah, to me, from a kid to now I always remembered this game. NFL Primetime saved this game for last that night…good ole memories..

    How could Modell move the team. This is the real Browns. Not some expansion team with silly goofy uniforms. Cleveland had the BEST football fans in the NFL. I remember this game vividly. Cowher looked like he ate his tongue!

  • @michaelmclaughlin6542

    This was the last we saw of the REAL Cleveland Browns--awesomely grungy and atmospheric Municipal Stadium, real grass and dirt, loudest most passionate crowds in the entire sport, the true Dawg Pound, this was the real thing. All this nonsense we've seen from this boring corporate "new" version is nothing but a disappointing misguided shell of what the Browns were meant to be.

    • @JCory22
      @JCory22 6 лет назад +2

They were grungy & ruff & wld throw down & tumble with any1 at the drop. Crazy times. People nowaday are so gentrified & tame compared to then. I cldnt imagine the 1800s in the US eeekkk

    I was at the San Diego game in 1991 where the Browns won in OT on David Brandon's int return, and it's my favorite win that I got to see in real time. My all time fav, however, was against the Cowboys in 1994. Couldn't see it live because I was stuck in an all-day rehearsal for a play I was in, and it was a Saturday game rather than a Sunday. End of the year schedule and all.
