      Yes! Turning on the game after it started, dying for the announcers to give the score and the time!😂
      I remember hearing my dad and older brother yelling at the TV, "What's the score? How much time is left in the half??"

      Yes lol. I hated it when they started putting the score box on the screen but after a while I got used to it and now it would be hard to watch sports without it. I could do without a lot of the other stuff though, such as the big down and distance arrow, the darker shade of the red zone NBC uses, and in baseball the strike zone box.

    I remember Eric Metcalf at the University of Texas. My brother worked for the athletic department and I used to watch practice, etc... even got to be a 'ball boy' for a few days.(My brother was 16 years older than me).
    After practice, Eric Metcalf would run hurdles that were set up on the track. (This was back when Memorial Stadium had astroturf.)
    Eric was such a nice guy. I helped him move some hurdles and he knew it was a big deal for me. He signed a couple of gloves for me and also my burnt orange, Texas mini football. Still got them today. Also have a team signed poster from 1990(?) as well.

    • @johnleeson6946
      @johnleeson6946 Год назад

      No. If Anderson made that FG, the Vikings would have been up by 10, possibly enough to win.
      The Falcons had to get a TD to tie the game. Minnesota's defense failed, but dropped a pass that would have stopped the drive.
      I don't blame Anderson. The reason Atlanta won was because Minnesota's defense didn't hold them and allowed them score too easily. I watched the game. Don't blame Anderson. He didn't lose it. The Vikings did...
      Same thing with Cody Parkey for the Bears in '18. Chicago had a 5 point lead in the middle of the 4th quarter. Two 1st downs and the Bears win. Trubisky and the offense failed. The defense allowed the Eagles to score. Parkey had a chance, but "doubled-doinked"! He tried to bail-out the crappy offense/defense. Didn't happen. It shouldn't have been an issue if the Bears were a competent team that year.

    I was there. Old Municipal Stadium. Anyone over 50 who says they like the new place better is a liar. It was my first game back there since 1988. My first ever Browns-Steelers game. Even then I was surprised how many Steeler jerseys were in the crowd. Old "Muny" was a rough place, but it was one of a kind and it had character. It was a monster stadium that looked like something the Romans would have built if they could have had steel to build with. Just hearing that crowd noise, you don't quite hear it like that now. That place was tense, you could feel the hatred of the rivalry. I got to see something very rare, 2 punt returns for TD's by same player. Went back the next year for Steelers game. Not so good. Vinnie threw 5 ints in a loss. Though not realizing it at the time I saw the last win over the Steelers by the original Browns.

      @@ericpackers1700 The seats were on the small side, and very hard wood. At least they were foldbacks. Without question it showed it's age, having first opened in 1931. But it was a monster. It was in the Guiness book of records for years as the largest venue for baseball. The mens rooms were atrocious. Heavan help you if you had to do anything in them that involved sitting down. Those steel girders could block your view if you were in the wrong place. It had a permanent smell of a strange mixture of stadium mustard and cigar smoke. But you felt like TRUE fan sitting there. There was a time when they allowed for standing room viewing and that place could be near 90,000 filled. I was at a Monday Night game in 1980 against the Bears. Fights broke out everywhere before kickoff. As Howard Cosell walked along this gated walkway to the pressbox he was pelted with full beer cups. My Dad took me there with a few of my friends. He was getting worried about the violence and said if this kept up he'd have to take us out of there for safety's sake. There were 4 empty seats about 2 rows ahead of us. Right before kickoff these 4 nuns took those seats. Everyone around us began to behave themselves. It was the most surreal thing I ever had at a sporting event.

      No, Art Modell signed a deal in Baltimore, but left the name and logo. Baltimore was a full-fledged team that included Ray Lewis. Cleveland got back into the league in 1999 as a expansion team. The 1st Superbowl the Ravens won was with mostly the same players on the Browns when they made the move. Art Modell is still the most hated man in Cleveland.
