    I have a microphone that uses an XLR to 1/4” jack cable. I bought a wireless mic system where the wireless transmitter plugs in to the mic, and the receiver, which has an xlr connectio, would plug into the mic input. However, the mic input is a tls connection, so I got a female xlr to tls adapter. Although everything fits well and as expected, the adapter does not work.any thoughts on why the adapter wouldn’t work? I would think it is just extending the same signal to the input. Thanks for any insight.

    I have Behringer Sl 75C dynamic mic (XLR), and need to use it for podcasting (vocal?). Which cable END do I need to connected to Behringer Xenyx Q802USB mixer? XLR? TS 1/4? or TRS 1/4? I was worried if I buy mono (TS 1/4) that my voice will be heard only at one side of headphone? is that correct?

      You need a regular mic cable XLR to XLR. Something like this: eventhorizon-srv.com/shop/mogami-2552-microphone-cable-10ft-p-72 You must use input 1 or 2 with the XLR input. The 1/4" connections on all channels will not provide the same about of gain and will not work as well for a microphone.

    I have a question, I have a karaoke mixer amplifier with 2 xlr female mono out connections on the back (Right & Left). I'm trying to solder an xlr male to 1/4" mono jack, my problem is, many people and videos I've searched for state that pin 1 is ground? On the back of this amplifier it states pin 1 is Hi, pin 2 is ground and pin 3 is ground. Should I wire the 1/4" jack in this manner based on what the amplifier states? I'm not sure what the word "Hi" means but I assume it's "Hot"?

      Hey, that seems a little odd, I would love to look at this amp, what is the make and model of it so I can look up a manual for it?

    • @RMMTFox34
      @RMMTFox34 7 лет назад

      It is an EMP Power mixing amplifier with dsp effects model# EBK47, I have it connected to 2 passive loudspeakers at 300 watts each, the amplifier states its 300 watts per channel but Amazon states it's a 1400 watt amplifier

      That is interesting. I could not find a manual so I have to make some assumptions. So it is a speaker output right? The labeling is really strange, with "XLR Balance" which makes sense but not if it is a speaker out. Then I have to assume hi = High = positive = Red and Gnd = negative = Black.I assume you are trying to make this go to the speakers with 1/4" connectors. Based on what I know right now, I would wire Pin 1 to the tip of the 1/4" and pin 2 (or 3) to the sleeve of the 1/4". I don't think you need to connect both pin 2 and 3 because they are the same. If you would rather purchase your cables we would be happy to build them custom for you to fit this amp. Just go to the site and click the contact and send us a message and I can walk you through a special order.

      I appreciate the offer, I'm pretty good with soldering, I've made cables before, just thought it weird that pin 1 would be labeled as "Hi", Yes, the xlr female connections are speaker out and speaker connections are 1/4", but the last time I used this I was using a TRS jack, it was working fine for a while, then the speakers made a weird pop, woosh sound is the only way I can describe it, then the audio was distorted and unusable. I don't know if I blew the speakers or something went in the amp, I haven't tried anything since. Was hoping maybe it was me that messed up with the trs connection? I was thinking the same thing, wire pin 1 as the tip. They sell this model on Amazon but they don't show the back, if there were a way I could send you a pic maybe you can tell me more?

    I have a xlr microphone but I don't know how to connect it to a device

    • @EventHorizonSrv
      @EventHorizonSrv  6 лет назад +1

      The question is what are you trying to connect it to? Most mics will need a mic preamp, that is normally where you start, that could be in a mixer or an audio interface. Without more info it is hard to help fully. Let me know if you need more help.

    • @EventHorizonSrv

      Of coarse that is what you want to connect. I avoid ipads and Iphones as much as I can. Doing a quick search I came up with something like this:www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1354185-REG/saramonic_smartrig_ii_xlr_mic.htmlNever used it, might be great or not. But there are lots of options out there, just google ipad mic interface.Hope that helps!

    Nice! How can I connect my professional microphone to a audio receiver for speaking & singing?

    • @EventHorizonSrv
      @EventHorizonSrv  4 года назад

      Hey Stephanie, By receiver, I assume you are talking about the device that is normally used as a home stereo for switching and volume? One that just contains the normal RCA inputs? If so the level of the mic signal is too low to be useful to any of the inputs. You would first need to feed it to a mic preamp to boost the signal (something like the Rolls MP13). From there you would need the right cable to feed out and split to the stereo RCA inputs, something like this: eventhorizon-srv.com/shop/y-ts-male-mogami-2528-cable-p-3622. Note, you should be careful, home audio components are often not designed for the dynamics that can be created by a live signal, you can easily damage speakers if you are trying to drive higher volume levels.
