So THIS was the tour where Dave stopped doing that overly harsh "live voice" that got really prevalent from 2005 to I guess 2011. I remember seeing the Delta Machine tour with my wife just a week after our wonderful first child was born, and we were both so happy he dropped that affectation, but apparently he started not singing that way again live a couple years before. You know what I mean, that growly thing where he only sang "Ahhhhh" instead of "I," for example. He said for years your live voice had to be edgier than your studio voice, but Dave was in my opinion (and apparently his own, after 2013) taking it too far to where it was obscuring the quality of his voice. Saw Something is a beautiful song, another early example of Dave's songwriting growing by leaps and bounds. I enjoyed Paper Monsters at the time of it's release but it gave no clue of what he was really capable of. And the fact that he's writing with Christian Eigner for last couple albums and now Christian and Peter Gordeno is awesome: Christian is beyond talented into the realm of artful, and the two of them deserve to get in on the publishing profits after 23 years or whatever it's been now they've been playing with the band.
What I love d.m. ,my older brother had their first single , but I hate to say this but you must know by now the band extremely dislike each other, I mean if your around the same people as long as they have so would you, they don't even travel around on tour with each other , and haven't for a year's it,s all about the money now I,m afraid , every 4 years they trundle out an album, they don't even care if it's good or not , fans will always go to their shows.
