Being a former CV-22 Osprey operator, when transitioning into airplane mode you need to try to keep a little nose high as it tends to nose dive when the nacelles move forward. As for CV-22 speak, what you call ailerons is actually called Flaperons and the elevator is called an Elleron. Great presentation though. I may have to buy one myself.
Osprey hey.
Thank you for your service sir.
@@henrywight4057 no problem.
"and the elevator is called an Elleron"
Elevon, and the V22 uses an elevator, not an elevon (like a Cessna 177. I have no idea what an "Elleron" is).
@@phillipzx3754 that was supposed to be aileron not ellevon. And no it does not have an elevator like the Cessna 177.
It’s cool to see the Sham Wow guy branching off into different avenues.
Great save in the first transition to airplane mode. Amazing how fast it is when in airplane mode. This video is a great example of taking all of the necessary precautions to prevent catastrophe. Very cool aircraft.
As a Veteran Coast Guard Aviation Machinist Mate Flight Mechanic.
I absolutely love the Coast Guard decaled paint scheme on this bird.
Yea it's cool! It's also way easier to see than the grey versions!
Being a coast guard veteran its so cool to see something like this. I wish they had something like this for search and rescue.
It's very cool. Oscar/Charlie 98 Alameda '74
Trust me this thing is not trustworthy to do any kind of mission...
@Capt_kook I'm talking about the real thing not this.
@@Aromatize I am also talking about the real thing lol it should be permanently grounded
Give it some time, the Navy are replacing the C-2 Greyhound Carrier onboard Delivery (COD) with V-22 now so now the COD can deliver to cruisers, destroyers, frigates, & amphibious assault ships. So as they get more numerous and operating experience the Coast Guard will probably end up buying a few.
The coolest RC aircraft you will ever see.
That was AWESOME! Great flight and really great piloting skills. I could watch this video over and over!
I see these flying over quite often, the real ones, I mean. Always in plane mode. It was interesting to see how this type of aircraft switch from hover to forward flight and back again. Amazing how this can be done with a model aircraft nowadays. Good save on that first attempt! Nice video!
This is the first RC Osprey I've seen and I like it. A lot faster than I thought it would be too.
Gives me goosebumps when i hear an american using Metric. Love it
metric is way more precise!
@@RCINFORMER It is a bit frustrating when you grow up using one system and then someone tries to force you to use another.
We only tolerate that from our military for when we have to invade them "metric countries".
@@trailrider0194 In full scale Aviation, the Imperial system of measurement is much more precise "FEET" versus "METERS"... In small scale things like RC Aviation, metric is way more precise... "MM" is WAY-WAY-WAY more precise than "INCHES" ... I merely use which system gives me the most precision for what I am doing:)
I don't agree with a metric system takeover. As a kid I was told that everything was changing to metric, It never happened & that's cool. Our system great. However, when it comes to small things lig the TC hobby, metric is far more a precise system of measurement. In larger worlds like full scale Aviation our Imperial system is much more precise in the larger scale!
Wow! For a second there, I thought I’d finally lived long enough to see Rich crash a plane! Nice save!
When it went into that spin , I was like ahh-nahhh here we go,lol
I am a retired V-22 Flight Test mechanic, that's pretty cool especially when it went all Bob Hoover on you!
Finally some on that realizes the need for Remote mics on an out door shoot especially where the TALENT is at variable distances.
Thats why I do it this way! Thanks for noticing:)
Great plane for the hangar, hopefully Motion will come out with one sooner then later ...
Great job Rich and Steve !
KOWABUNGA! Things have really advanced from when I used to fly RC aircraft, although I only flew fixed wing aircraft and the actual V22 was still being tested. LOL
Thanks for the video, Sirs, and it got my juices flowing. I only wish I didn't have so many disabilities and I could build and fly once again!
CONGRATULATIONS on a job Well Done!!
The V-22 Osprey is my favourite aircraft in the Realfight R/C Simulator. The model ought to be just as much
fun.
Designed and built an auto gyro version about 20 years ago . Obviously forward flight only powered by an os 35 . Great fun !
This model is gonna be my future hobby. Thank you for sharing a very interesting hover plane.
When you plugged it in and both nacelles pointed at you, you put your hand on it so calm and kept going. Lol I would have ducked instantly!!! Great video!
That is a great machine I have built both Helo and planes and I take from this review it makes it easier to adapt the control of the unit.
Very nice plane first, time seeing a v-22 osprey rc, great job !!!!
GREAT SAVE for a test pilot video. Been there many times testing other's stuff.
I appreciate your use of a audio transmitter so people can actually hear you. So many "wannabe" youtubers, some of them quite popular somehow, think they're producing a quality video when you can't hear them or they get such a hollow echo from the room they're in it just makes me shut them down and move on. Well done. Great video too, but you already know that!
Thanks for the great comment!
I have been flying these ospreys for a year and just had the courage to flip the switch
Damn they are fast in airplane mode also aerobatic rolls loops and stall turns do not try inverted flight unless high altitude. Have transitioned to airplane mode 20ft alt just watch power setting drops like a homesick brick all in all fun
Wow! That was a great save especially at the height not to mention that thing is fast and you were only half throttle in flying mode
With that microphone I was waiting for you to say, "...but wait folks, there's more! If you buy right now I will throw in the peeler absolutely free!"
lol
My WiFi was so bad it loaded only 144p version, I genuinely thought the same thing. Didn’t know there’s a 1080p
Phenomenal flight guys. It did a fantastic job the second time you went airplane mode. Great recovery the first time. Great job. Beautiful plane.
Thanks for watching!
I had the e-flight one do this on me and was lucky to save it the first time second time not so lucky . Was hoping this one would had been better thanks for the video keep up the good work
This is absolutely amazing!
Steve is the real hero here. You got that, Steve?
Pretty sweet flying. Looks like fun.
Nice plane - The hover is great - Actually impressed with the normal flight mode - Thx
This should be a lot of fun!
Very cool Rich!!! You got the skills to pay the bills ;)
Amazing !!!
I didn't expect to see one of these.
Wow absolutely incredible flying machine I love it fly safe
Pretty cool. I'm an RC nut but only surface, boats, cars, trucks, etc. I tried to get into helicopters with a T-Rex 450 about 10 years ago and I was not very good at flying. I managed to get some hover time and some slow low altitude flying and not crash it. I sold it because it was not very fun always worrying about crashing it. I also have an original DJI phantom which is easier to fly than the helicopter but still not for beginners. But...maybe time to try flying again with all this new flight control technology.
Dig the Coast Guard paint! Always good to see the least known or recognized service branch get some love!
That is brilliant!
Nice !!!!!! I’m into quad copters but THAT WAS FREAKING AWESOME!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
That was awesome Steve! Thank you Steve for a great video!
Steve rules!
Steve’s the man
Very Cool . On my list to buy this year
Great looking aircraft! Makes me want one!
Incredible , fantastic congratulations.
Great Demo Video! One of the best I have seen on this plane! I have been looking at this plane since it came out, I still have one of the Old ARES V-HAWK X4 with four props, It still flies good, But can be a handfull at times, So far no crashes, But This one looks easier to fly, And I just may have to get it now. And I agree about the mic thing comment, That was funny, Next time wipe the plane down with a Shamwow, and offer discounts. LOL, Always great seeing you guys, Take care and be safe!
I’ve been into RC since 83.. never made the plunge into transitioning to the air,, now I think I’m ready. Nice video
You can do it. It's not the plane, it's the pilot/instructor! The key is getting a good instructor at your local field... your instructor makes all the difference:)
@@RCINFORMER I’m a builder and tinkerer and the kits in the 80’s were balsa that you built and we didn’t have instructors or simulators that aid so much today but from watching your videos just your quick tutorials gave me a second wind. RC cars are my passion having kept every single one of them and now my job affords me the pleasure to have a few days off for myself so I’m ready. I’m a drone pilot but can imagine the two fly totally different not to mention the plethora of channels. Most I can hope is get some Instruction online or at the airfield which is always busy. Thanks for the reply!
@@maverick744 Just ask at your local field & they will/should set you up with a local instructor to help you out:) You will have to register at AMA to fly at most fields. Also, the Real Flight Sim is good to get to practice.
Super excited
You was very very careful Awesome job thanks for flight
What a save!!! Kudos!!
Great flight, and a great save. Do like a VTOL plane. 👍🏻
Really enjoyed that video 👍 looks really cool 😎 the only thing that put me off the v1 Osprey was the price, I hope this one is not as expensive..
Kudos on the successful flight guys 👍
It is on sale now:) check it out while its on sale!
I've seen this before at Banana and thought...eeehh. Now I'm thinking it would be fun to own. Also, for those who remember, it's the same price as the UMX version from..... I'm really liking this! To me, Coast Guard shceme is 👍. AirHammer out!!
I Definitely love it given I"m a Coast Guard Aviation Machinist Mate Flight Mechanic on Grumman HU16e Albatross seaplanes and Sikorski HH52a Seaguard amphibious helos Veteran.
@@pinwizz69 HU-16 👍👍👍
Nice! She looks to be a hand full!!
That is cool! I see the full scale ones everyday fly over our farm all day everyday really low an fast.
Great flight! I like the idea but that fan has got to go LOL. Also, I can't get over how small those props are, full size is 38' in dia.
I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if it's been set up so it can take off conventionally.
Either that or the flight control software isn't quite there?
It sounded fantastic in conventional flight, good imitation of turboprop noise.
If it had bigger scale props, that noisy lift fan might not be required.
Amazing! Good job! 👏
Guess the camera guy is called Steve😂
You reckon? What makes you think that? lol
@@briananthony4044 not quite sure🤔Thought i heard his name once or twice😂haha
great paint
Really neat
Nice save I hope you get it sorted out...
Hey Rich, a little scary there for a moment, great save,by the way what receiver did you use
Awesome looking
That’s nice thanks for demo!!!
Thrilling. Sweeeeeeet! 👌🏿👍🏿
After the craft has been airborne Now if you need more forward ,then use duel rate...Other would be radio Microzone loves that flight controller. And if you move it moves this system does what it does..to inputs from last commands. and programs of staying level..Get it why crashing it in transition..Acting up ? Right thing switch to Hover has Made this a great Aircraft .
Good Review...worth every penny. !
I had never seen that RC model before!!! Greetings from México City!!!
I went to the Miramar airshow, I saw the glorious Raptor, Hornets, Hercules, Super Stallions, and Osprey (others too). The Osprey is such an amazing aircraft to see transition from heli to plane!
Awesome.... Steve....
Good job and happy action.
That’s to cool I’m amazed how fast it is in airplane mode haha that first transition was fun lol need a change of underwear on that one
Boozer 😂😂😂
Thank you for the Video! I ll buy this Osprey, but i live in Japan! Very nice model👍🏼
Great Rich, I think I would have had an accident when that baby started spinning, but you nailed it buddy, awesome !!👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
Beautiful
That is great, amazing and not to mention awesome!
pretty cool
Great flying
I could turn that into a bucket of parts pretty quick
LOLOL!!!
The early Ospreys did that all on their own.
Can you double up your battery. More weight and longer flight time.
Hi, a great model and flies well .
amazing... was just a few years ago this wasn't possible in R/C much less a commercial foamie. Shame about the rear lift fan though for complete realism ;)
It`s absolut ok!! everything works perfect - gratulation
good job with the camera Steve!
Nice save Rich...
Awesome vid good work
Very nice flight !!! Fresh underpants required 💩 !!! I thought that was it when it went into that weird spin 🙈 well recovered 👌
Fantastic !!! Super like 🇧🇷
Really neat model
This is amazing!
Great video sir, this is awesome 👍
That’s one for the collection nice 👍 plane. ❤️💯👍🇺🇸😎
What i see is the two nacelles do not move symultanainously. The left nacelle follows behind the right one.
Nice machine.
As one that has been there ..you don't know how lucky you were to make that save. Unfortunately that Flight Controller is notorious for transitioning one motor before the other causing the model to spiral into the deck.
Happy Landings
If some other than banana hobby was actually distributing this I’d be interested.
What a cool RC plane
Master piece. I would fit a scorpion existence on it
I’ve never thought about this, but can you mix in expo on the throttle channel to quell the oscillation?
great performance congratulations super beautiful model
Thrust vectoring would be awesome for a flat spin!
Totally Cool.
Ok Good

Very Cool RC model! Thanks for the Vid. :)
