Absolutely the best RV videos in the industry. You entertain and inform. Thank you.
Our pleasure!
I would keep all of my snacks at arms reach in that cubby space under the kitchen counter right next to the recliner. Someone at Jayco planned that very well.
I had that thought as well
Thank you for sharing your Bladder’s life cycle, you always crack me up. Laptop, books, magazines and remotes in the cubby next to the recliner. I wish the bathroom was larger in this unit though.
You are so welcome! For what I am welcoming you... well that's for you to decide.
Under the kitchen cubby: Magazines or cook books! You're welcome Josh!
Thanks for the idea!
Under the kitchen counter I would put electronics. Laptop, tablet, maybe a blanket. Things my wife would use sitting in the theatre seat.
Really like this floorplan and interior.
Ty :)
How does anyone "thumbs down" Josh's videos???? Ridiculuous!
Honestly, I think its the SAME 4 peeps that follow him wherever he goes!
I always thought that they just didn't like that particular camper.
Getting noticed by a troll is a good thing. It means the videos are getting out there. Just don't engage!
I see a few pop up almost immediately off any upload I provide. Pretty much indicates someone trying to "attack" us. Doesn't really seem to hurt as we just keep on going :)
@@JoshtheRVNerd Your videos are the most knowledgeable but also entertaining videos out there and they are not just boring statistics. I was kind of being funny but forgot the laughy-facey thingy (?? Once you get a certain age, these new fangled terms escape you...and you just don't care you go back to your barley-pop, hooker cooker, and crazy uncle leash). I know in today's day and age people will dislike something everyone does or something someone says but I just wanted to let you know that the vast majority of us love your information and humor in your videos. Happy New Year and keep em coming!
Under the counter 3 short baskets with utensils, paper goods and clean wash rags/towels. All stuff u need multiple times a day
Smart
I like the new format with the quick 1min overview to draw people in. Nice idea.
Viewer submitted idea! I have good people with great ideas helping us improve all the time! :)
Snacks right next to the recliner😂
You had me at Hello. LOL
I really enjoy your videos Josh! Honest and always informative. One suggestion before posting each video, have pricing available when one clicks on the link. Thanks!
I put pricing on our site as soon as I can. I don't want to "sit on" the footage while waiting for the office to catch up with me. The end result is the same. I just work ahead of them.
I own this RV. In that space by the theature seating I put my laptop, wallet, keys, phone, and snacks for when I'm watching TV
TY for sharing :)
How do you like this rig? This is the kind we are looking for.
@@brentjohnson6654 well man to be completely honest it hasn't been the best so far..
The AC thermostat off and on doesn't work. It's all digitally programmed so unless you're an electronics engineer it's hard to fix. Really annoying when you live in TX and need the AC and it won't come on.
The glass inserts in the upper cabinets, one fell out and almost cut me open.. no user error either, it just fell one day when I opened it. Cheaply glued on.
The trailer had bad wiring for the camera, had to redo it all, also the wiring for the turn signals and brake lights didn't work at first.
Lots of shortcuts, like the cabinetry under the sink is super think plywood that broke from a simple bump into it.. the trim around the bed busted off from a small bump when turning over in sleep.
Despite me trying to keep my hopes up, it's been a lot of work for a brand new trailer.
After fixing all these issues, I now enjoy it a lot more. The layout works good for me, my fiance, and my dog. I cook a lot and really enjoy extra kitchen counter space and extra storage.
But it wasn't easy and everything was quite annoying at first. Especially because Camping World is terrible.. they made everything so much harder so I just decided to fix everything myself.
Make sure the thermostat is reading the correct temperature if you do buy it. That was the main frustration for me. It would say it was 100 degrees in the camper when it was more like 70 or 60...
Despite all these problems I am enjoying living full time RV life. When something breaks I simply fix it better and move on. Let me know if that helps!
@@TheRoyJames thanks for the reply. I like to hear from real owners. Texas, huh? We are east of Dallas. I am retired and my wife is still working. We would like to get a lighter trailer to try this out. We would be extended weekend warriors. We have 2 sons on the east coast we could park near them and do life. Our daughter lives in the Dallas area. As it turns out I am a retired electrical engineer- not sure I want to work on a new trailer that falls apart though. Haha. Thanks again for your honest review. Something to think about.
I totally agree with having the side splash thingy next to the stove.
TY!!
Josh, thanks for your honest and hard work throughout the year. I wish you and the family a very happy and healthy new year. Take the rest of the year off, you deserve it 👏! Thanks.
My wife woudl kill me if I were around that much lol
A couple days ago you showed a Wolf Pup camper and the exterior fridge compartment door opened down to give a nice counter space. I think that would be great if Jayco would do that with the Jay Feather series.
Yeah it's funny how such a simple flip/flop makes a neat difference.
Very nice! You nailed what I was thinking again Josh with the sidesplash.
Thanks 👍
6:34 if they added some USB outlets (both types) inside that cabinet it would be an excellent charging station for all the mobile devices we carry (⌚️📱💻); maybe regular 110 plugs 🔌 too to charge any & everything (batteries 🔋 for cameras 📷 , drones, & battery operated tools 🧰, etc.)‼️
Very nice. Happy New Year. May God keep on blessing you and your family. Be safe
Thank you very much
I liked the tinted colored windows for the Cabinets inside. I also like this entire floorplan. I don't recall seeing one Exactly like this one. Maybe similar, but not Exactly. I think you already know, I Live in a 5th Wheel. This Travel Trailer, though, looks like you could even Live in it! Anyway, I liked it. Also I'm Single with No kids, so I don't Need to provide for anyone else. Good one, thanks. Happy New Year!
We met a couple from Canada who own this and live 6 months a year in traveling to Florida and back. This is why we're getting one so we can live in it for 3-4 months at a clip.
We just brought boom an ENTERRA bunkhouse camper double doors and I got a haylet hat :)
Repping the team! :)
That space by the seat would be good for a device if you have one while camping. Tablet, ereader or laptop. For me would be an ereader.
I like that idea!
Nice, I like the floor plan. I think I would use that under the counter shelf as a park-all. Anything I would use often, laptop, maybe a throw blanket. Heating pads. I would probably put netting up to leave some things there.
As for what others I'd like to see, I am interested in the hybrids. I grew up tent camping and those seem like a good alternative for the old and creaky body that can't easily get up from the ground.
I want to see small, under 25' trailers, I'm just 1 person. I'd also like to see the lightweight ones, that I can tow with an RV instead of a truck.
You had my wife's attention when you said heat pad. Helps her lower back a great deal
Interesting way to do the intro. the pan and zoom was well done. very steady. Viewers could actually stop right there with just that info if this wasnt the rv for them
TY. I feel like it's nicer than just standing there watching me talk or just staring at the same view of the same RV
I guess I never understood the dual entry to the bathroom. It means you have 2 doors to close and/or lock, and, more importantly, you lose wall space that could potentially be used for storage, towel bars, more drunken octopi 🦑🦑, etc.
Some folks who need to use the bathroom at night like it. I generally agree with you, though.
I like it. It also keeps the weight in the center to help prevent fish tailing.
Great review! Thanks!
3 Pullout bins in under counter space hold paper plate/bowls, napkins, hot pads, kitchen towels. Stuff you use multiple times a day
Love it
This is the one for us! I'm excited to find one.
Like the Vintage décor Josh. Glad to see Jayco keeps adding more interior options. bill in Florida
Thx as always Bill! Appreciate you and the rest of the #NerdHerd
Josh, my wife & I love your reviews. She would like it if you could show the kitchen sink with the covers off, as she wants a single sink that’s not divided. Thanks! Terry
TY you both for the input. I do try to do that now and then. Lot to juggle for every video. Appreciate you tuning in and speaking it! Keep it up please! :)
We have a 2018 and I use the cubby for distowels. I would love this new style. So many more cabinets and drawers, and the upgraded seating is also better.
Good spot for quick grabs after a spill... not that I am prone to spills or anything **cough**
Good spot for a lap top
Books or tv remote in the cubbie👍
In that space would be our scriptures and remote control.
Hey Josh, I'm not a huge chef, so I don't need all that prep space. As a full-timer, I would use it for work space. Maybe put my printer/copier on top and supplies underneath. That could be a nice desk area. Just a thought.
Great idea!
Watching this one this morning, lol, the wife said the same thing when you remarked about the full length back spash, why don't they have a side splash?
I always hear "it's hard for production"
But man... it feels like it's something SOMEONE could figure out
I won't claim to be a production expert though
That cubby would be great for cook books or magazines. How about the one peace steps
Stable steps are available. This camper was actually custom ordered without them. I forgot to mention that. Normally we'd have them on there.
In the kitchen counter cubby, I would put cutting boards, and any flat type applicant such as a griddle or even a panini/waffle maker.
Great.. now I want a panini with waffles instead of bread 😆
@@JoshtheRVNerd It's all about the cravings lol 🤣
My laptop would fit in the cubby next to the recliner.
You need to live stream a review!
I would love to, but RUclips's live streaming feature is extremely jittery and has image stability issues I greatly dislike
Nice crapper area Jim. The bed is a bit short. I guess that is easy change out.
Very. Could throw a true queen into the RV with zero mods
One could make their own 6 inch foam extension to make the bed a full queen. You carry a manufacturer that used to include that 6 inch extension. Camp queen during the day when you need the space to walk around and use the extension at night for extra leg room. I thought it was brilliant but I don't remember the manufacturer .
Sweet camper!!
Hey Josh, cubby under the counter is perfect size for laptop, cord, external hard drive and other spare cords like usb, hdmi, etc.
I like that. TY :)
placemats, towels. You're welcome.
TY!
This is my dream camper BUT I would like to get the “Modern Farmhouse” interior
Under the kitchen cubby, the swivel tables for theater seats, if they'd fit. Otherwise, I'd like to see that area narrowed so you could easily gain access to use the corner counter top space. Eliminate the outside fridge and make it plain storage.
That counter space *is* very easy to get to btw. You can stand in front of the sofa and reach everything without difficulty.
I have a side splash in my Lance. There’s sure a lot of storage in this trailer. I really like the idea of a 12 volt fridge. Do they draw much power? It’s been my experience that these types of shades will break and that’s not a maybe. They are expensive to repair. Are MCD shades really that much more expensive? It may seem picky but any type of RV repair is a pain. Overall it’s a really nice trailer.
12v fridge is actually pretty low amp draw. ruclips.net/video/HNCnwXOh1ng/видео.html has info on that.
Regarding the little pocket under the kitchen counter - it would make for better exterior storage in my personal opinion.
Above the fridge? That would work I think..
@@JoshtheRVNerd That was the thought. It is deep and awkward in that location.
😳 T-M-I ... T-M-I 🤣
Hard Pivot lol
this was amazing you amazing life is amazing
This comment is amazing
Really like this layout!! Is there a 5th wheel with this layout?...great video.
Not that I know of, but I'd be interested in seeing that!
Now that I think of it... Cougar has something SORT OF similar... here: ruclips.net/video/Z9lZsgXOL0g/видео.html
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thank you!
Did I miss a large wardrobe closet or just the 2 shirt closets in the brdm? (As usual a great tour, Josh.)
2 shirt closets
Well on that counter I'll put a little wine cooler fridge. Porcelain toilet. Farm decor and farm sink. Question in the outside little drive can it be modified to put a washer dryer???🤔
In the outside “drive?”
I don’t think there’s anywhere this could accept a WD unit without major mods
Cubby under the counter - laptop and a couple books
I like that. TY
LOVE this!!!
I loves you. It calls to you...
nice extra kitchen countertop, but access seems to be blocked by a recliner.
It looks that way on camera, but in person it's not an issue
I was worried about that same thing.
I have this rv and it's really never been an issue for me, looks like it would be but it's not
@@TheRoyJames TY for sharing
Does this come with option for solid step above entry stairs and options for table and chairs in dinette as well as tri-fold couch?
Thanks for such great videos!!
Yes yes and yes!
I wonder if they had put a stand alone table -could they have gotten more useable counter space. That would make tv placement a problem but maybe it could work out. It is great they definitely listen to customers -you can get to most things with slide in, no carpet, enclosed under the camper, and bathroom that uses its space. Like the overhead fan in the kitchen but it looks like they skipped the fan behind the stove? Hope they didn’t skip it and I just didn’t see it. Love finding couples trailers that is smaller than 30 feet but with lots of nice features.
Jayco vents all their stove tops in these thankfully
Is it possible to order this with a true queen mattress in place of the camp queen?
No bed options available from the factory, but since they left the room we can easily swap it out
Your review of the 24RL is very good, however, in the Haylett web page for that unit, at the bottom, it lists "similar models". I searched for the 24RLXL and found it in the Forrest River Wildwood page. It is almost the exact duplicate without the external frig. What are the major differences between the two? There is a new comparison video for you. Happy New Year. RH
Tons Ronald. It's like comparing a sedan to a motorcycle. Completely different construction and a tons of different features. I have video on one here you can use to review ruclips.net/video/yoXjDbLFDB4/видео.html
Plus the Catalina version ruclips.net/video/IduyXTufXro/видео.html
Both those links need updating to 2021 footage once the campers roll in
I looked at this model and got the 27RL . Has more room and I dont care for a fridge outside
That 27RL is great. Just straight forward good camper. No nonsense.
My Posse' at Hayletts!
Nice
What is the sleeping area on the Dinette and sleeper sofa? I'm looking for floor plans that can sleep 4 adults comfortabily
NORMALLY I have an app here that would give me all of those handy specs, but Jayco is currently in process of re-doing it so I'm without all my resources. Weirdly they don't publish this info elsewhere..
What I can tell you -- a 2-bench dinette like this is usually about 5ft length wise (Small for an adult). A Hide-a-bed sofa could sleep a pair of adults if they knew one another (speaking from experience myself actually).
A full size U-dinette can sleep an adult, but needs a little bigger RV to pull it off
Trying to think of the smallest trailer with two adult-sized guest sleepers... The RV quickly gets much larger like these:
* ruclips.net/video/KyqlJaXTZt8/видео.html
* ruclips.net/video/RoEHndIyFYE/видео.html
But if a single hide-a-bed would work, then know models like this jay feather from the video here OR things like the freedom express linked below can be optioned with a hide-a-bed instead of a theater seat to give you a larger guest bed
* Try this one with a hide-a-bed: ruclips.net/video/_5uFAlOwy44/видео.html
This could easily be a slide-less version; remove the dinette since the recliners have those nifty removable tray tables #Traybles (plus 1 of those folding legs tables for inside/outside use) & JayCo could shave some weight & costs making this even better for a single person/couple who don’t need a dinette that converts into a sleeping area (aka a “bed”). Some added storage (a pantry wall that’s Uber adjustable for food/or clothes; with removable shelves & hanging rack bars) would be great there‼️👍🏽👍🏽
Brand have actually done a few things like that & it never seems to catch on. Kind of like the now discontinued Grey Wolf 25RL that I always loved -- I guess I was mostly alone on that... ruclips.net/video/ECBHzqEe9D4/видео.html is the last year for them
5:13 IMO...
✅ Vintage Washed Gray 👍🏽
🆚
❌ Modern Farm House 👎🏽
5:24 now if they would match ALL the cabinets throughout the RV then JayCo would be at the top of my list❗️
It does feel like a lot of "movements" inside, but it works nicely for me. I know you're not a fan of the distressing looks
Bigger Tv
😁
I really like Jayco, but for me their refusal to add a fireplace option unless you step up to the Whitehawk series has me with Rockwood!
And that's why we carry so may brands! We still have you covered! :)
@@JoshtheRVNerd Yessir Mr Josh! We refuse to pay 3-5 Grand more for a 100.00 fireplace!!👍
@@NewVisionLCS I appreciate the passion. Each product is built with specific targets in mind. We just like to have a variety of targets to hit! :)
Can those recliners be made to be a jackknife couch?
That's actually the standard on this model. So.. yes :)
Could the theater seat be eliminated and a single recliner be added? My thought is the counter/prep space is epic.
Aftermarket, Yes. But that counter space really isn't blocked the way it sometimes seems. The "campsite cook" takes the counter-side seat. That way they can stand in front of the sofa & reach everything as required)
But we could swap it out to a single recliner here if need be.
Do you have any small 5th wheels ? To be hauled by 1/2 ton short beds? Or maybe short beds are not good for that?
The hiccup with half tons and fifth wheels is not usually the bed size, but rather your payload rating. I would need some actual truck specs to offer better suggestions, but here's a pair you may consider:
* Eagle ruclips.net/video/aF5HXlq_690/видео.html
* Cougar ruclips.net/video/he0D2PYQ9lU/видео.html
I would definitely recommend speaking with our team for more clarity on half tons and fifth wheel towing though
The sofa seems to cut off a lot of counter space
If you stand there in person it really does not. But I get how it looks that way.
It doesn't, just appears that way
Don’t you lose a third of the kitchen counter space with the reclining sofas?
No, but I get how it looks like that. If you see the RV in person, then you quickly realize you can reach the entire counter space very easily.
*Happy New Year EVERYONE* !! #HaylettRVReviewsNewsAndMore
Oh love your videos though
TY For that :)
I wonder if a fireplace will fit in the cabinet under the TV if you remove the doors and shelf.
I think one can certainly physically fit. Just not factory offered.
I always tape foil up for side.
Easy to clean and replace! nice idea
IS there a Similar floorplan with taller ceiling height? Brand not that important.
This footage is quite dated, but yes: ruclips.net/video/YRKqhD6lEl0/видео.html
Wine rack beside the theatre seats
Interesting! First I've seen that suggested. Solid plan.
@@JoshtheRVNerd on another issue for the Jayco 24RL, have you seen the awful way they apply the wheel arch trim around the driver side extended dinette.
What Length and Depth is the Dinette for Sleeping Use ?
40" x 70"
I would like to get rid of the theater seating and have a counter/desk with extra cabinets and drawers area instead. Other than that this is almost perfect.
Interesting!
Is a fireplace heater an option on this model?
No Lou it is not. Jayco does not have a fireplace option for the Jay Feather line. You have to step up to the Whitehawk or have Haylett do a fireplace mod.
A front windshield would be nice.
They do that in their big brother White Hawk series. It's one of those defining difference features.
Is it 28 ft from the tip of the front hitch to the back of the bumper?
The specs at the start of the video are tongue to bumper
Total true length. Not box length
@@JoshtheRVNerd I just rewatched the first part and you did say 28' 7" from tip to tail. 👍
It's a shame I am not in your area, I would definitely buy it from you if I could but alas, I'm down in GA.
@@echandler673 We deliver ;)
Can you get power 4 corner jacks with auto leveling?
Auto Leveling is N/A on Jay Feather models. You can find it on White Hawks and Eagle HT's as an option. Standard on Cougars
I would have slid the GFI protected outlet over and made the cubby smaller but in the process made room for what I think it is referred to as nerdism #37 I believe it is pronounced the "UUUUUUUUUUTENSIL DRAWER" Hope you all said it out loud like I do when I see one!
*sniffs* So proud lol
Excellent
No fireplace heater?
Not in Feathers. That's a feature for its big brother the White Hawk
Since the theatre seats are optional what comes standard?
Jack-Knife bi-fold sofa
Tri-Fold sleeper also available
I take it that they are standard?
Thanks uncle Josh!
What’s the price of this unit 24rl
I work to get pricing on our website for you to review ASAP, but haven't been able to circle back quite yet so I don't personally have it available. Sales team here at 800-256-5196 can assist you!!
If I had to guess -- mid 20's?
Is this a 30 amp or 50 amp?
30, but I believe there’s now a 50amp option for these
Dude the nook next to the sofa would be for remotes and maybe a place to have magazines
Nintendo Switch Controllers lol :)
Another one with couch next to part of kitchen counter making it inaccessible.
It certainly does have that appearance. But if you review the RV in person, then you see it's all within easy reach!
I agree that in-person can give you a different view.
Tell us the price
Hi Neil! We haven't been able to receive one of these from Jayco for a while so I do not have a good bead on things. Apologies there. We keep links in our video descriptions where you can always see either current pricing for in stock models or at least last known MSRP (which isn't really helpful in this case).
So if I had to venture a guess.. around 35 plus taxes and tags?? I could be high or shy on that but I'd estimate that's where they're landing right now. Our team could certainly work on getting you something more specific
Sure wish they offered a king size bed in the Jay Feathers. A regular queen is bad enough but a short queen is an unnecessary compromise. The small bed makes me contemplate the Cougar but I hate the cable slide, or the Shadow Cruiser but I hate the tiny holding tanks. I also hate the plastic toilet these get and I think the unavailability of power jacks is enough to move the Jay Feather out of consideration, there’s simply no reason not to have them. It always cracks me up that they put a power tongue jack in, which is just one jack, but put manual stabilizers, which is four. I’d rather have power stabilizers and a manual tongue if that was a choice I had to make. So much in the RV industry is totally nonsensical. But regardless, it’s 2021, cranking jacks is ridiculous, as is a crunchy, creaky plastic toilet. Cmon Jayco, step it up.
Appreciate this. It's evident from what you've written you have a solid grasp on comparable products. It's actually kind of refreshing :)
4:38 Me Too #SideSplash 🔥🥘💦
I wish J Feather came designed for 80" beds. They are late to the game. If Keystone & Grand design do it why not Jayco!!!!
They reserve it for the Feather's big brother White Hawk, but I'm personally in agreement with you. it's a feature that's WORTH doing
The kitchen counter is useless.
Don't care for this layout. Looks thrown together
Not for everybody. Quite popular over all though!
It's probably the most functional layout I've seen in a small travel trailer and amazing that everything is accessible during transit. Just wish it had a true queen size bed. I don't know how to adapt the platform to take the larger mattress?
This is the strangest floor plan I've ever seen. I'd have to delete the dinette, move the theatre seating into the slide putting the tv on a long arm to face it. I'd put a small bistro set in place of the theatre seat. Maybe one of those ikea drop leaf bistros.
The layout has been out and quite popular for a while actually. They have some alternative versions like this one as well ruclips.net/video/gQIEppWKd8s/видео.html (note that's 2020 footage)
Hate the steps needs more ride don’t like dinettes in any RV
Mor/Ryde steps available. NORMALLY that's how we would have them in stock. This RV was actually a special order for a client & I failed to mention it.
Table/Chairs also available in place of that booth!
