    I really like what Jayco has done with this series, happy with the changes Freedom Express has made for 2021 as well, nothing wrong with the ones from a few years ago, it is just the new ones keep getting better. A big thanks to you and all the great people at Haylett for all you do for us.

    We've had our Jayco 27DSRL ~4+ years. Use it almost every month year round + a snowbird trip to the desert for 6-8 weeks. A couple of minor things I've fixed but nothing major so far. A few upgrades as well. VERY pleased with it. Removal of carpet is a big plus.

To you guys who can do it all for its the best viewing experience of these trailors we get. The 2 man camera operation does not even compare. The shots are either too far away and or the camera man is focused more on guy talking instead of showing exactly what He is talking about and don't even get me started about their camera angles that look like they are on their knees always looking up, good grief!...needless to say it brings me back to you, Dave or pauls in hopes one of you will eventually show the right trailer for us...BIG THANKS AGAIN!!

    Hi Josh, First of all - great videos; my wife and I really enjoy watching your tours! Your the best! You mentioned on this video how great the Jayco roofs are so strong (Magnum Truss) - A few roof questions - do Jayco travel trailer roofs require any annual maintenance? Would not doing this maintenance void the warranty? Is roof leakage covered under the 2 year warranty or longer?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 года назад +1

      When i say “the roof” I’m discussing the construction of what’s below the skin. I tend to specify “membrane” or something like that when discussing the roof’s skin
      MFGs change roof skins regularly and being candid.. I really don’t pay attention to it that much because despite all the talk MFGs give about their roof skins they all use the same sealants and can benefit from the same conditioning. I do believe Jayco uses a membrane that should be treated regularly.
      If there is a failure in their construction during their warranty period, then certainly their coverage comes into play. But if it’s a result of a failure to perform regular upkeep, then that would be on the owner.

    Great video once again! Random question --- why do so many high rise faucets in RVs have the handle facing you so your hand gets wet right when you turn it on? Residential faucets generally have the handle on the right side.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  4 года назад +1

      Faucet can pivot like most residential sinks, so the water comes out wherever you'd like it.
      As to "why" -- due to the way RV floor plans differ there's not always space to have left or right skewed sinks/faucets. Managing multiple different faucets is a problem for parts teams. Much more reliable to have one sink/faucet and work around it.

    • @todd2456
      @todd2456 4 года назад

      @@JoshtheRVNerd I guess I can see that. But most of these nice high rise faucets are in units that have plenty of room. I've never seen one without the space available. I wonder if the faucet could be loosened from underneath and the handle rotated to the right or left. Residential faucets have that option. Definitely first world problems here. :)

      Is anyone else but me concerned about sleeping close to the road in an rv park and with propane practically under my head? Our first rv was a diamond in the rough Bounder. We are getting the itch again, but now looking at couples half ton trailers. I'm loving the bed in the back designs. And the Farmhouse design is calling my name. Are my concerns unfounded regarding the safety of front Bedrooms? Thanks.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  4 года назад

      @@susanhillard6190 everyone needs to buy according to their levels of comfort. I would say I feel strongly these concerns are theoretical far more than practical however.
      Nearly all trailers now have front bedrooms since the mainstream inclusion of slide outs (which usually need to go above or near the axles for load balancing reasons). That pushed the beds to the nose. But obviously folks get along just fine this way.
      Something to consider is there's really no significant "drowning out" of noise from the front of an RV this size to the rear. If there's a sound outside, then you're pretty much going to hear it either way.
      The location of the propane is also no different vs. something like fifth wheels which have pretty much always had the propane under you. The same concern could be voiced for something like an automobile with a gas tank only a few feet away, but I would wager that's nothing that has ever really given you a moment of pause.
      Hopefully that perspective benefits you!

  • @BenzieGOP
    @BenzieGOP 3 года назад

    Hey Josh, how about you talk about the Jayco Feather floor construction? I know they use a laminated floor, which kind of scares many owners of older rigs with laminated floors. After five years, the floors are junk, spongey and soft in high traffic areas. How does Jayco deal with that, compared to a 5/8 T&G plywood floor, which seems to be a better, but heavier option?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  3 года назад

      It’s a fair concern, so a lot has changed in laminated flooring in more recent years. Even really good brands like Rockwood were building a floor that seemed really good for the first year or two, I started to have soft spots over the years. Typically the reasoning there was because they didn’t have enough crossmembers in the floor. Some manufacturers also did not use thick enough top layering in the laminated floor
      You might notice how Jayco RVs are never the least expensive and most certainly never the lightest weight. Even these lighter J feathers are certainly not lighter weight than most other ultra lights out there. That’s because things like their critical structure points are always thicker, heavier, and more reinforced. I say with confidence we do not have Jayco laminated flooring problems
      You may also notice how they don’t do laminated flooring on a lot of their bigger models. J feathers have the laminated flooring because they’re smaller and lighter, but a big heavy jay flight or even White Hawk go back to a wooden constructed floor with plywood decking for that enhanced strength where it is needed

    • @BenzieGOP

      @@JoshtheRVNerd Thanks Josh. We've been looking at some of the Venture trailers, Sport Trek and Stratus. I've had 5 travel trailers in 25 years and now have a very critical approach to construction. We like the Jayco products, but can't get over the floor construction (our Rockwood Mini-Lite had soft floors). Might have a much closer look at the Flight and White Hawk series.

    Is your video of the 2020 Jay Feather 25rb gone from RUclips?

      It's right here: ruclips.net/video/0a8KP6W4n9U/видео.html
      I am trying to keep the most current footage actually representing the RVs currently available at our facility.

    Can you get in the bathroom with the slide in?

      Yep! The bathroom is right by the door and not blocked by the slide.

      Not in Jay Feathers, No. That's something Jayco reserves for White Hawk

      I *think* so but it's actually after hours and I don't have all my resources readily available to me right now.

    This is a really great Floorplan. I just purchased a 2021 22RB and this 25RB is almost the same layout but just a little longer so you have both the theater seats and dinette. With the 22RB you have to pick one or the other. What I don't like about the 25RB though is it doesn't have the outside kitchen like the 22RB does.

      I almost think the 22 SHOULDNT have the camp kitchen and shrink down a bit
      Like you said the size is too similar I think
