I bought a Darby the other week, so so much easier than a feather edge
Nice to see you back
Good to see you back 👍
Great tutorial on rendering
Love the refina diamond back float there brilliant I find you can get on it a lot quicker while the gear is wet and it doesn't stick so much but as you mentioned always hit it again with a standard float to finish after it dries a bit.. yet to get my hands on one of those power float's tho would love to get playing with one a those bad boy's
Extremely helpful, thank you.
Excellent 👍
Derby is much more forgiving than a feather edge, definitely my tool of choice when floating, rendering
Derby for flattening and feather edge for floating 👍
That power float looks the nuts! Lovely work as always mate 👍🏻
Thanks mate very helpful 😊
Cracking video Alex my derby is still wrapped in plastic 😣😄 I want to bring it out to play after watching this
Thanks Stu. Sad times. We have been using ours all the time. 😄💪
Some really good tips there, especially when floating. 👍
Need to wet that scratch coat up before applying top coat 👍
I think you need a bit of Fairy Liquid in that render - You made hard work of that little bit 😵😵😵💫
Great tips !!
Should the scratch coat not cover the beads? The beads are pins the window seem only covered by the top coat. You can tell I’m a novice judging by my most probably stupid question. 😅
Paint it turn the lights off then put a light on it is it still OK? If so, great!
I have rendered hundreds of houses my god wished I had one of they floats
Please can you do a video on how to render when there are bricks at a different depth? I dont know how to explain.. half way up the house is a 3 brick profile which pokes out. On alot of houses in my area, how do you tackle this to get a flush render coat on
You can either chip off the brick with a sds to make it flat or make it a feature and bead it as a band
@@karlf5419 cheers for the advice, appreciate it
@@Foxxielyeah mate you'd have to get rid of the ones sticking out
Got a small rendering project to do. A breeze block bench in garden. Using k rend and just bought an I Bar from screw fix to flatten of. Would you recommend a darby instead? Thanks
If your doing monocouche the I-bar is the right thing to use.
You still coming to Edinburgh?
Shouldn't you of wet the scratch coat down?
Hi Alex. I've just bought myself a serrated derby. Haven't used a derby in many yrs.
Usually h rules.
Looking forward to using it
A wall that size should b done in one
Prefer using a feather edge.
Did he just say so its all drying in a contraflow system? Hahaha wtf
No disrespect but ye a derby is wat u use it doesn’t control how level it is
