    Wheelchair user here. Thought I'm also just a sad-o who likes staying at home. Missed two out of the three shows I have booked this year, though one of those was nothing to do with my condition or my aversion to leaving home. Anyway, there should be more of this sort of thing. Up with this and such.

      Hey there - thanks for your comment! I am 100% a "saddo who likes staying at home" - even before *all this* I wasn't going out much at all (only for my own gigs). But I'm trying to get a bit more fresh air these days... I can only imagine the extra stress/faff/bother that comes with knowing that some people/places won't be helpful to you, so I hope the venues you go to make an effort to be inclusive.

    I have no experience nor can foresee any need to put together such a set up myself, and still found this video fascinating as an insight into the sheer amount of variable tweaking and work needed to deliver that wonderful experience of live music beaming into the homes of all who would welcome it. I wonder how many future online gig givers will be citing this video as the one that made it all seem realistically within reach?
    Thank you, as always, for providing interesting videos delivered in an engaging way. Always a delight when my notification bell goes a ding-a-ling.

    OBS is marvelous, blew the minds of my coworkers when I started using it on zoom meetings, flipping between cheapo Yi cams I have around the garden and workshop is fun :)

    I haven't managed to catch one of your livestreams as they happen, but I love watching them on re-play! Even if you were able to come to the US to play, I probably wouldn't be able to go -- so your livestreams are an absolute pleasure!

      Yes, I really like them! I just don't think they're available any more, and I wouldn't exactly tell someone "get these for in-ear monitoring" because there are probably more specific and better things, hence not advertising the make/model etc here.

    Nice one Laura. Interesting and informative, even from the viewpoint of an audience member rather than a performer. On the bit about looking at the the live chat, you also generally say something like "let's have a quick look to see what you're all chatting about", which (obviously) lets us know that you are going to, instead of just doing it, or doing it all the time, which is not very respectful of your audience I'd say.

      Oh that's a very interesting note, Iain! Do you mean because it shows I'm not prying in on all your conversations?

      @davestubberfield6128 2 года назад +1

      @@Penfriendrocks I don't think you need to worry about looking at our comments all the time and if I can make a suggestion that you get someone to monitor the chat , they could take any requests that your fans ask for and liase with you , this is what I have seen other streamers doing

    • @Penfriendrocks

      @@davestubberfield6128 thanks Dave! Glad you agree - I don't worry about looking at them at all some gigs, I experimented with not having a to-computer chat the livestream before last and noone minded at all :) once or twice Tim collated questions for me and sent them over, but it didn't make much difference so I went back to a simple quick scroll and a chat. I find people are pretty happy with me just saying hello, they don't tend to be flinging loads of questions my way during a gig. If we were in person at a venue they wouldn't be asking me questions during the show, so maybe that's why? 🤣
