Only problem is if you break a belt ! You will have a lot of extra work , but i'm glad that setup works . Are you keeping the motor in the machine or transplanting it into the full screen machine ? Talk to you later !

My 40 series doesn't like to slide back into resting position on idle. Have you seen that? I ordered some stronger springs to help with it, but I have had a lot of issues with the 40 series.

I just installed a 40 series torque converter and jack shaft. I am having problems because no matter how loose the belt is the driver is still grabbing it and spinning the wheels at idle. I have a harbor freight 13 hp motor which says idle is 1800rpm's. Can you offer any help or suggestions. Could it be a bad driver?
    Thanks for any assistance.

it sounds like you might have the pullies to close together or the alignment is messed up. look in the description of this video for info on alignment.

Are all 40 series compatible if I get them from different places? What is the height of both the driven and the driver, not the diameter the height? My centricular clutch is supposed to be heavy duty for a 12+ HP engine but it seems to be slipping and hard to get rolling. I know it's heavy but do you think this might fix my problem? You can check out my cart here. Love to hear your opinion. Thanks. WWII Airsoft Jeep

  • @barman8773

It is in the air however there is a lot of torque to the wheels. We can just barely keep the wheels from spinning by holding them. The driver at idle is compressing the belt.
The set up we have is as follows: Standing behind the Kart - Sprocket to left wheel, driven with red spring facing the sprocket. We had the driven in different positions. 1. belt straight with driver and driven when engine is off, then the driver pushes belt towards engine and makes the belt go at an angle at higher RPM's. Then we moved the driven to the right so at higher RPM's the belt is straight on with the driven.??? The distance between driver and driven is 9 3/4 center to center. Then we backed the motor thinking the belt was too tight and that was why it had so much torque at the wheels but the driver still engages a very loose belt. The belt is so loose I can take it off the driven by hand. Driver seems to engage too soon?
Thanks for your earlier responses. Any and all help is appreciated.
