So glad Karen brown introduced you to us! I’m so happy that someone can be so honest about real life and all that gets in the way of best intentions! Here’s to progress for us all! Thank you for your videos!
Good to see you. Hope all goes well. Very sorry for your loss. Baby steps are ok too. I’ll be there whenever you are able. The Quilting Community is a Welcoming Place At Anytime. God Bless You, 🥰 Chris
Thank you sharing. I’m sorry for your loss. I’ve enjoyed your “How do I quilt it” series. It is actually really helpful to have some insight into what’s happening behind the scenes. Take care of yourself!
So sorry for your loss. So impressed with what you have been through and overcome. Really appreciate all you do. Thank you. 😊 Lots of love and respect. Peace and good fortune and good health to you and your family. 👌
I love your videos and honesty - I can relate to your busy life and finishing quilts. Sometime the task seems so onerous and the appeal of a new pattern or fabric is much more tempting I am sorry to hear of the loss of your friend, that must have been so awful. I have moved my mom closer to me this year an she's now in a seniors home.. I've gone from seeing her once every 2 months for a weekend to seeing her three times a week, as well as doing her laundry, errand, and shopping. I have also have 3 new grand babies this year so my sewing time is even more precious than ever before. I try to find / make time every day to sew - i am more successful some days than others and the mental anguish some days is exhausting in itself. I wish I could retire and sew as much as I like as well as look after mom but thats not realistic. Its nice to hear there are others in this sewing community that also struggle with finding the time to do what we love vs the responsibilities of everyday life - please do keep making these videos and sharing your experiences when you can. I enjoy them very much
Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate them. It sounds like you have your hands full as well but I hope you find some relaxing time to sew and enjoy it when you can. Thanks!
Glad you are getting your head above water. I haven't sewn much since mid May due to having 2 total knee replacements one right after the other. My life has been about my knees but I'll be back at it soon.
Tom, I am so sorry for your loss. I am thrilled to have found you through Karen Brown. I am enjoying your this is how you quilt it series and the august quilting challenge. Do things at the pace that works for you, and take care of yourself, I’ll still be here. Your content is always great.
Sorry to hear about your co-founder; I have been very lucky not to lose any colleagues, friends or family to Covid. I will wait as long as it takes for the book about quilting from you. I love your style of presenting and quilting.
Wow! I appreciate your transparency and honesty! Who knew what all was happening behind the scenes?-we only see the quilting videos. But this shows your real life and gives us a true perspective of a blogger who has another job and relationships. Thank you! Love your channel! ❤️🧵🪡
So sorry for your loss, and what a hard work schedule you’ve had to take on, but so glad you are finding time to keep your joy in sewing! I am a pretty experienced quilter, but I’ve learned from you and been inspired by you, so THANK YOU!!! (Yes, I’m shouting that because I really mean it!)
For the last two years, I had grand ideas of working on the regular BOMs that I belong to, AND finishing up all of the WIPs I have, including backing and basting and quilting all of the quilt tops I have. For the last two years, I have only added to my WIPs, including quilt tops. My husband is talking about retiring in the next year and a half and we will probably downsize our living space at that time, which means I need to downsize my projects and stash. So next year I am refocusing my energy and not participating in any BOMs. I will focus on finishing the projects I have and getting those tops quilted and useable.
Best of luck getting through that pile. I know it can be addictive to sign up for all these things, but I'm with you about taking a pause from it and finishing what I started. Good luck!
I do identify with this. Work/life boundaries seem to have blurred so much due to the pandemic and all the changes that we have all had to experience. I need to set aside time as you are doing to quilt regularly. My current project and sewing machine have been sitting collecting dust for several months as always too tired/busy. Time to change things and do something about it.Thank you for this. Best wishes from Aberdeen 🙂
I can completely relate, the switch off between work and non-work is getting harder to find at times. I hope you find some time to sew soon. Hope things are well in Aberdeen!
5 minutes or half hour, you have to find the time every day to do something personal to help balance life and work. Relax, I am sure we all understand and will be here with you.
I was doing great on the AQC until the 17th, my mom went in the hospital so I rushed to be by her side, hope to return home soon and back to my projects.
Start being kind to yourself 😳 There are only 24 hours in a day, and you are just one person!! Life happens and hopefully your life will become less ‘challenging’ 🤞🤞🤞🇬🇧 Looking forward to seeing your future videos 👍👍
I also haven’t gotten all my quilts done that I had planned earlier this year but I seem to have my mojo back recently. Glad you are feeling better. Really enjoyed your videos on quilt designs.
Your 3go should have been booster! Your videos are great as well as your talent. Please tell me the name of the color of the quilt behind you, it’s beautiful. Thank you in advance. Keep the videos going , stay well
Thank you so much, that's so kind of you to say. The fabric behind me is Klona in Orchre and Cream. It's a common UK fabric brand for quilting. Nice and soft and washes well.
How has your sewing year been so far?

I hope you are making a full recovery. I'm sure you'll be back to sewing in no time at all.
THIS explains so much!!! Glad you are doing well. How's my sewing going you ask?? Don't ask, I'm behind on my own project(s).
Thank you! I hope you manage to get caught up with them when you want. Good luck with your sewing!

wow-- you have a lot going on! I hope you stay healthy as things get back on track
Thank you. So far things are going well, and I have found more time to sew so I'm learning to find the balance. One day at a time.

You should take the advice of Mr. Peanut behind you ;)
I had to go and look at the picture to see what it said. I love that!!!
