I love a pinwheel block, and this was such a great explanation. Now I want to go make a baby quilt for charity in the style of the third quilt, even though I’m supposed to be finishing WIPs today!
Not sure what happened, but when we finished this block there was almost nothing to trim. Thankfully we could get the 6 1/2 needed, but I was surprised that there was pretty much no trimming especially since you said you made them oversize for that reason. My sister is trying piecing for the first time and I thought this would be a great beginner project, but maybe not. Any ideas why our blocks came out that way? I was very careful with the cutting and pressing the seam allowances because I was showing a newbie.
There is a PDF worksheet for each block every month. Just need to sign up to the mailing list to get it. Details are in the video description or you can ue this link www.thecolourblindquilter.com/behind-the-blocks-2/#worksheetdownload Once signed up, you'll get an email each month with the information you need. Thanks!
That tip about unpicking the seam, is genius. Thank you.
You're welcome! I'm glad it was helpful :-)
Thank you Tom. Can't wait for block 2. Love your little blooper block!! 🤣
Glad you enjoyed it There were many choice words uttered after two hours of filming and I realised my mistake :)
Thank you for taking time to slow down with the teeny pinwheel on the back. It made a huge difference to my understanding.
I'm glad it was helpful!!
Yes and we are off. Guess what I'm doing tomorrow. Excellent video thanks.
Have fun! Hope you enjoy the block :-)

Thanks for the video - is there a digital pattern for this block and will there be for others?

@@TheColourBlindQuilter Thanks. I see now it was in my email.
My center is dead on but the back has little squares instead of a pinwheel 🙄
That's ok as well if the centre is flat. Sometimes you have to unpick the diagonal seams too in the same place to get the little pinwheels to show.
