Thank you for your wonderful tutorial. I bought a kit and am teaching myself how to quilt. It isn’t going well with the pinwheel pattern. Your tutorial is the best that I watched. I hope it goes well for me. Thank you.
Your instructions are impeccable, I believe I can do this to perfection like yours! I'll let you know how mine turns out, this'll be my first one. I'm a perfectionist too, so wish me luck! Thank you so much! Joyce 😊. ❤
Wow! I’m so thankful to have found you this morning. I’ve just struggled with 3 of 30 pin wheels for a small quilt. Love the basting trick! Thank you from Atlanta!🇺🇸
This has been the best tutorial I have watched. I'm an educator, and your teaching is 10/10 I listened to several pinwheel tutorials, been having a lot of trouble. Most tutorials go way to fast, miss details, don't repeat, and then at the end tell you it is really "easy" Thanks Kim, I so encouraged now.
Awww thank you so much Theresa; that means such a lot ❤️ Do let me know if there are any other blocks that you’re struggling with as I’m currently planning my tutorials for the next six months 😌 Kim x
great video!!, excellent instructions, thanks for sharing, just teaching myself to quilt and wanted to do a quilt as you go after constructing my blocks. want to make a quick quilt for a friend that is terminally ill and was trying to find an easy block to construct. I came across your video and I feel so blessed to be able to understand it and I think it will work for what I want to. God bless you, you are an excellent teacher
You're very welcome Elizabeth... a pinwheel block is a pretty quick make and will look amazing for your friend (and I'm so sorry to hear about your friend too 😢). If you need help with the sashing of your QAYG blocks, I've got a video on that here: ruclips.net/video/wUuM6bp9b90/видео.html and my mini series on binding can be found in this playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLiMkDqjQaRI1zRK8oCOkGx88ejk7Ai-3Q Kim x
Great question; it depends on how 'square' it is to start with, but if it's a bit wobbly, then yes, I will square up. I have a separate video on squaring up a block if that would help: ruclips.net/video/D5OlkInQOO0/видео.html Kim x
Hi Sammy - can I just check that's it's your whole pinwheel that you need to finish at 6.5"? And if so, does that 6.5" allow for seam allowances, so it'll end up at 6" once the borders/sashing/next blocks have been attached? Kim x
@@QuiltWithKim I haven’t actually used it yet. I’m getting a crafting room ready so I have a space for my sewing machine and I won’t have to keep tidying it away all the time.
I just started quilting and find your instructions remarkably clear. I succeeded with the pinwheels, they look awesome! thank you!!!!!
Thank you and you are very welcome! So glad you have some awesome pinwheels...I love the block! x

Brilliant use of long basting stitching on the apex point.
Thank you Mary 😊
Thanks for this video, great Lear instructions, but I need lots of practice
Glad it helped Caroline; but this is a block that definitely does need some practice to get right so keep going! Kim x

Once you have stitched all the pinwheels together do you trim each block to make sure it is square?

I have to have a 6.5 square finish what size do I start with

I’ve bought one of those little irons.
They're fabulous, aren't they Collette? 😍

With this tutorial I was hoping you would show pressing the pinwheel after the final seam. Twirling or popping….
I've got that saved for a future video Joanne 😌
