  • Adam Swanson is a world-renowned pianist of vintage American popular music, specializing in ragtime, early jazz, and the Great American Songbook. He is the only four-time winner of the World Championship Old-Time Piano Playing Contest and has been a featured performer and lecturer at ragtime and jazz festivals both across the United States and internationally.
The "Maple Leaf Rag" is an early ragtime musical composition for piano composed by Scott Joplin. It was one of Joplin's early works, and became the model for ragtime compositions by subsequent composers.

This is truly amazing- epically stunning! 😳 You can tell how much Adam just loves improvising this piece from the way he always looks out to gauge the audience’s reaction! I have to believe that Scott Joplin would have *loved* this ultimate “ragging the rhythm”!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽☺️ Thanks, Adam!

Maple Leaf Rag sounds really good on a Steinway. It doesnt have that honky tonk feel to it, but it still bangs enough, to not forget its roots

Very nice. Love this tune and riffs of it.
I'd like to see what this guy can do with the tune if he slowed it down to about 80 bpm.
