France did not colonized Cameroon. Cameroon was colonized by Germany. Cameroon was kept under the trusteeship of Britain and France after the first world war until it independence that brought the two Cameroons together to form the Cameroon we know today.
France was was devastated from the embarassment of WW2 and the embarrassment of losing French IndoChina in 1954 culminating with the battle of " Dien Bien Phu" against the Ho Chi Minh led Communist rebel army. After that humiliating loss they doubled down on the colonies they had left in North and Central Africa. France led a brutal campaign in all the colonies and were complicit with the 94' Rwanda Genocide backing the Government forces until the Tutsi rebel army ( led by non other than the current Rwandan president himself Paul Kagame). But i digress and YES the Cameroonians and other nations they were complicit or were engaged in should get compensation at the LEAST and that still don't exonerate what they did but it's a step in the right direction imho. ✌
@@louisea4920rewatch the video . Almost all the killing was done by Cameroonian opponents of the leftist faction . France was on their side , but they didn’t pull the triggers
