    Because the English part of Cameroon supports the economy with its resources the Cameroonian government wouldn't leave the territory without a fight. But they are not ready to develop this region either. The people despair and lament at their conditions, and the government just like colonialists empty their resources. If a solution can't come to the table then separation is inevitable. The younger generation have become conscious, so its only a matter of time.

    • @makehumanitygreatagain8128
      @makehumanitygreatagain8128 7 лет назад

      It takes way more than consciousness for such a thing to happen. You undisciplined online commenters keep sewing this seed in your rhetoric that you are incapable of nursing to germination. I suggest you study what happened in the Ivory Coast and then come to your senses.
      I completely understand that you are frustrated but the route people like you profess will lead to extremely unpleasant consequences for all. #MHGA

On the other hand too, African leaders need to stop the killing of its citizens when they ask for their lives to be bettered. The hidden history of the Republic of Cameroon has caused many Cameroonians to be in the dark as far as the fact are concerned. The language question is not the most significant for now. It is the fact that the Southern Cameroons was a federated state, with the status of an independent nation. The problem is the treachery by the East Cameroon La Republique which tricked the Southern Cameroons and unilaterally replaced the federation with a unitary state and subsequently to a republic without any constitutional consultations with the federal republic of Southern Cameroons. The language factor is not as strong as the origins of both nations. Do we not have different independent Anglophones nations all over the world. The language factor is in passing unfortunately, it has obliterated facts thanks to the hidden history of the nation. CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT CAMEROON DOES NOT HAVE AN OFFICIAL INDEPENDENCE DAY? The problem is the government of cameroon, cameroon needs a new government, it's not about the language we have lived with different languages for a long time that's not a problem , we need a new president who actually cares about the citizens and not just steal money from the economy. Personally since Paul biya became president Cameroon's economy has gone down instead of going up and as old as he is, he doesn't want to give way to new presidents and he is trying to pass it down to his son as if it's hereditary. You know what, is there a prison for bad presidents cause he needs to be arrested he is the number one cause of the problem not the language, we need a whole new government. And also tribalism, corruption, discrimination between French and English Cameroon and also French cameroon doesn't want to vote for an anglophone president cause they want to stay in control. English Cameroon needs to be rescued from the government and who else will do it if not the citizens and these are just some of the reasons why English cameroon wants separation from French cameroon......anyway I'll stop here cause I can't explain all the reasons.....this is just my thought on the matter

      Overtime, the french implemented the policy of assimilation and the British had the indirect rule system.
      These subjected the citizens into two different culture and traditions, destroying the indigenous people's culture.
      More to that, the french took the majority of the population and assimilated but the British implemented another system of government to the least of the citizens. That has resulted to a revolt.. Because it is difficult to have two nations exist in a country. However, not Impossible.

#MHGA

    You gotta be kidding me... As a French (willingly speaking English, which is my fave language among those I learnt btw), watching this cracks me up... Clémenceau used to jokingly say "English is French badly pronounced", and I always smile when I recall an Englishman once saying "France... Or Greater Britain!" lol
    Africa is miles behind on this... Sorry... I don't mean to insult anyone, but frankly what is described in this video is four-year-old mental age level. Just learn one another's language and problem solved. It's a chance to live in a bilingual country, not a misfortune. Everyone who has this chance should simply take it as it is and bless the Lord that they have this luck. Be peaceful and care for one another, basically... "Love your neighbour like yourself".
    Every language is beautiful. Native African languages, the languages brought after. Every language is beautiful because they all come with an History, people, feelings, etc. Africa is beautiful, the mothertongues in Africa are beautiful, and English and French too.
