In Cameroon, English-speaking Cameroonians are tagged "Les Bamenda" simply because they speak English and treated as foreigners in their own country. Sadly that is the reality. Then instead of promoting the purity of institutions with their adopted foreign languages to assist their students to get proper education and excel even in foreign institutions, the system is contaminated by deploying French-speaking Cameroonians who cannot properly educate the children and at the end confuse them in the making. This is what we are fighting for. Historically (despite the fact that the idiotic Minister of Communication is denying that) they got engaged as two nations that will function as equal partners and be constitutionally recognized at all levels. But I have heard many of them exclaim that an "anglophone man can never rule this country".

It is a shame that they are so stupid. They created a huge disaster out of something that was originally just a small issue.

Everyone yelling this white man language and what not need to chill. In this world there is only a few languages that go across borders. English is at the top, I mean you guys are typing in it. What needs to happen is an end of superiority between Cameroonians and a focus on being bilingual (See Swiss) and accepting of both francophone and anglophone Cameroonians as one. Also Paul must go!

Every true Cameroonian should speak French and English. People should stop asking me if I am Francophone or Englophone. I am Bamilike and Cameroonian. It's a culture problem not a language problem.

Its not a language problem. its a region that was structured under the anglo-saxon functionalities that happens to be the minority of a greater french speaking part. The anglophones are simply fed up with a system that has failed to provide the basic needs (food, cloth and shelter) despite the vast resources that the country possessed. thus the anglophones dont wanna be part of an un-progressive regime anymore.

We want a Federation, we want our own judges in our courts, we wants Anglophones administrators in our Region, we need to be in Control of our region, what is too hard about that? Why do you French wants to take what belongs to us, why not given us the opportunity that is our birth right.

  • @enowivo1473

This has never been a problem about what language is used. The minister cannot publicly deny the fact that the Republic of Cameroon is made up of two separate entities, that came together in order to form a federal Republic.
When the Government of Cameroon rejects publicly this historical fact, then you can begin to understand the problem of the people of West Cameroon.

i love how the minister dodges the question of why francophone lawyers are assigned to anglophone regions ROFL

  • @tifuansehumphrey1731
    @tifuansehumphrey1731 27 дней назад

Well the minister and the lawyer both have a point but more for the minister. ❤ You see the government looks of us all as cameroon in those 10 regions first, before before cones the specificity of the region (french or English) . Nearly all the problems complained for in English speaking regions e.g youth unemployment, french teachers, poor roads, and infrastructures, bilingual schools presence etc.... are equally faced in the french regions. The minister was right when he said his next of kins will be more anglophone. This is probably because his daughters are attending English education in school 🏫. And he's very brought of that and not feeling oppressed by that. This is the mentalist the government what's us to have, that we can live together and gain from each other language and culture 😊. The minister himself has gained our culture (eg, he speaks English and wears English traditional outfits 😉)
So, as he said, it's all about good faith 🙏 ✨️
If we have good faith, we can leave together to handle our differences in a civilized marner. 🇨🇲
The button line is that the government has his flaws (the simple fact that he has not succeeded in making us understand things the way he does is a failure), and we civilian Anglophones have our flaws too.
Please can have the Minister number? 🙏 😢

      it was disgraceful

    • @greathands3882
      @greathands3882 7 лет назад

LUKONG Paul BERINYUY one concrete example, harmony could not say it.
1> Anglophone graduates can't get jobs because they are considered inferior by la Republic.
2> Stagnant Economic development in the NW & SW region in terms of transport, education etc.
3> The out right rejection of the anglophones by Francophones. calling anglophones as Anglo-Fools.
4> The treatment of Lawyers by law enforcement during the peaceful protest was insane. Beating and injuring lawyers
4> The brutal attack on university students on campus, the hostels as seen on videos. In which many were raped, beaten, locked up without trail, killed and property destruction (the police destroying a bike, after the helpless bike owner was beaten merciless )
Throwing tear gas in protesters and non protesters even in the hospital.
Worst of all, the President has been ignoring the anglophones and their demands. He never cared to dialogue with the Lawyers and teachers.
He instead sent people like Danpollo or Ndawara who is non government representative to talk with the Anglophone Elites. This is an insult to the anglophones.
These are some of the few points that Harmony should have pointed out at the beginning of the program.
If this is how Harmony and the others are going to represent the anglophones, am afraid they will not achieve anything.
The minister was using rhetoric to get Harmony and harmony feel for it.
The francophone women said it all. Bamenda or Anglophones are equal to stupid to francophones. So am sorry for those who think francophones do not have a problem with anglophones.
Wake Up Southern Cameroonians. Stop sleeping on Federation.
      Independence will cut this dry.
*** Harmony did not even call for the release of the hundreds that have been arrested and locked up. ***

What did we expect from a minister who says one thing in the morning and turns around in the evening to deny. Well Anglophones have suffered outright marginalisation for over 55 years. We have never accepted to be a unified nation. Southern Cameroons came into the ungodly union on the basis of federalism but the bad faith of the francophones and their governments over 5 decades has given us the stance to have our independence restored totally and completely.

Sorry, this Francophone-Anglophone divide taking place in African space (Cameroon) is much of a non-sense: Africans are at core "Afrophones" (not Francophones nor Anglophones) with own mother tongues. In an afro-environment, French and English are borrowed languages; the brawl between these Cameroonian fellows is groundless if not stupid.

I do understand their frustration. Indeed, there is no clear dialogue with the government to address their justified revendication. However, resorting to violence, destroying the little infrastructures that form the legacy of our country is fruitless. There is a better way in my opinion. The world is watching us and horrified in how we lack humanity in treating each other. The administration on the other hand is very incompetent in addressing this issue.

The minister should not compare where he comes from to the anglophone zones. When we want to compare Bamenda that has a good history to the people there to any other city, it should be cities in the francophone zone like Douala and Yaoundé. But Bamenda is like a trash yard with no good road network, no industries, no leaders in the government and despite all the universities there, they are all still filled with francophone professors that don't even speak or understand English. They gradually are wiping away our culture. Anglophones go to school having masters degree come back and still don't have jobs and it's common. There is complete domination in Cameroon by the Francophones to the anglophones from every aspect of life. The minister can laugh over certain questions or even forget what he said after they asked him a very important question bcuz his children already has a bright future. But we listen to you cautiously bcuz we have wounds in our hearts that has been there for more than 5 decades. This has to stop now, we urge for a separation and that's Independent. We will build our nation from grass to grace. We will make our own country more great again

In my own opinion, the two tribes we have in Cameroon are poor and rich. As the master of richmen and Women is France, everything is done to erase the southerns parts of the country; English history and culture. there is no meritocracy in Cameroon but corruption. Cameroon is not a nation but a jungle where only interests matter. What being Cameroonian means? honestly I don't know. the diversities of our country should be respected, preserved, celebrated and cheered. we need development, education, opportunities for everyone and not for a few blood drinkers and governants. in each region there is a small paradise representing elites houses and goods and the rest is just the curse. it can be verified in the East, West, North, South parts of our countries. few lifes matter and the majority doesn't. the Tanga Nord and Tanga Sud described in Mongo Beti's Cruel city still exist even in big cities like Douala and Yaounde. Cameroon should be a real equal and bilingual country.
