I remember I love watching this movie when I was a kid... and now I'm studying cinema. For me this film is a classic even to many people don't think the same. But the score and Kevin Bacon as a villian catch me every time :)
Very underrated film. An interesting revisitation of the thought of Platone but in a sci-fi / horror key. What I think the public does not appreciate about this film is that half of the time it follows the character of Sebastian and becomes attached, but when he starts to go crazy and become bad, then the public is confused and in pain… Personally this is one the main reasons why I love this movie and the final question that leaves us: did Sebastian become a monster because of the serum or why did he have power?
He became a monster because he fell into a space in his mind where he BELIEVED he could do what he wanted. And it was like an example of "The minds of men" and by that, I mean PEOPLE. Even women would try to get away with shit they normally wouldn't do, if they thought NO ONE could see them. But...a lot of people wanted to BLAME it on the serum. So we saw that as well. How people will blame other things instead of taking responsibility or how others will blame things for you, instead of making you responsible. All the while this character was just fuckijg people's shit up. It was a great fucking movie lol
@@BisatFilm yea. I just kinda went with....its a gorilla....an animal...its mindset wasn't thinking that it wanted to be invisible. So I would guess more that it freaked out more in some points while trying to understand what happened to it. And because it's main way of communicating with the humans relied on visuals....after the invisible test...pretty sure that many things were, by it's understanding, ignored. If you've ever been admitted in a hospital for a long stay, you understand that frustration. So...yes, it creates doubt about the serum, but for me....nope lol
Feel The Walrus I liked it too! I think the isolation mixed with the power pushed his already twisted mind over the edge. Then he perceived that everyone had turned on him and lost it.

I clicked on this and then realized if I didn’t turn back I would see things I would not be able to unsee... but I kept watching, this is very intriguing.
I love Hollow Man. It was something new, fresh, unique, inventive, stylish, cool, edgy, hip, and updated such as the concept and themes. The story, performance's, music, and special effects was outstanding and incredible. Kevin Bacon did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Sebastian Caine as he put tons of emotion and depth into his role. A brilliant yet arrogant scientist that has hunger for power and once he has that power it really takes a dark and sinister turn as he is tempted to use it for evil intentions. 😱😰 To this day I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old. 😍😎👍💯
Saw this on video back when it firs came out. And said the same thing out loud 'ruining' the movie for others. But yes he would be. To see the light has to reflect back and if light passes through you are blind.
When H.G. Wells wrote the original book, scientific study was done and concluded a real invisible man would be blind due to the light not reflecting off anything.
The fact that the director was depressed because of the review saddens me. It was a well done film for what it sought out to do. It knew what it was and committed to it
You know, if I were invisible, I think the worst think I'd do is be a stowaway. Or I'd sneak into people's houses and play video games with them. Also, how do you see if your eyes, even your nerves are invisible? It works for something supernatural, but not for scientific things.
I found the scene where he turns slowly invisible so cool, creative and effective! The idea that the serum affects the body part by part is just genius. Also the reason why I think he's so damn creepy, especially when wearing the mask, is you can't see his facial expressions any more. So to no point you can tell if he's serious or playing around. Thus that transition from prankster to psycho slowly intergrades.
omg this was one of my childhood's nightmare.. I remembered watching this movie and it haunted my dream when I was like 8.. Thought I was scared for life man.. I became a bit paranoid whenever I had to go to the toilet or kitchen alone :(

He is Thanos 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️

Can you do Killing Floor’s lore?
yes its on the list :)
watch the trailer for the first one, it explains hoe they got out of the facility
This movie actually feels like it made Kevin bacon one of the best villain actor ever I don't know why...
Yea fr
Who came here after watching "The Invisible Man".
Meeee
I tried to watch the Invisible man, turned out it was an empty park bench.
Who said that?!?!
I remember I love watching this movie when I was a kid... and now I'm studying cinema. For me this film is a classic even to many people don't think the same. But the score and Kevin Bacon as a villian catch me every time :)
The prequel to hollow knight

Hey dude why are you sad?
Me: I’m just *Hollow man*
I thought i hallucinated this movie when i was little
Thanks
Nate Quintero thats a long az hallucination
Same, I always thought this was a fever dream.
When I was a kid, this really gave me nightmares every night knowing that the end of this movie, the hollow man survived.
Didn't he die in the fire at the end?
@@andymclafferty600 he didn’t die?
He did die

the special effects in this movie still blow my mind
My one and only hero Kevin bacon
I find the hollow man thumbnail funny for some reason
Reminds me of Ryan Reynold's protrayal of Deadpool.
Same facial structure and everything.
Reminds me of Fallout's Ghouls.
Haven’t seen the movie before so when you randomly see thumbnails like this... it CHANGES you
Very underrated film.
Yes I think so, I said only that it was a detail made just to leave the doubt, a bit 'as the light in the final of "total recall".
@@BisatFilm yup
Feel The Walrus I liked it too! I think the isolation mixed with the power pushed his already twisted mind over the edge. Then he perceived that everyone had turned on him and lost it.
Jeez, Verhoven is a legend. His movies built my childhood
Love the videos you make, they're very informative on things from comics, movies and games that I didn't know and I thank you for that. If you haven't done anything on he-man, you should try and cover skeletor.
brilliant! adding that to the list now, thanks :)
FilmComicsExplained you're welcome, always glad to help someone whenever I can
Why does youtube keep reccomending me movies that I have buried deep down in my memory after being scarred me as a child.
I read the title as "Florida man explored"
Now that would be a really scary movie
That's Annihilation :D
The visual effects Oscar was well deserved.
DUDE! omg I vaguely remember this movie from when I was a kid and it weirded me out but I couldn't remember the name of the movie and it has been bugging me for 15 YEARS! I owe you my soul for making this video.
I remember being terrified when he squeezed the rat. Like, I ran out of my aunt's living room, crying😂 I was like 3 or 4 at the time... but I was fine watching Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street. Made no sense.

it would take several videos to just touch the surface of the imperium much less everything els
Jésus. You need another channel to explain that lore. Let alone years worth of deication to even scratch the surface of that universe
Another movie with Kevin Bacon as a character named Sebastian? That is pretty much evil? I wonder if they realized that when making X-Men First Class
That's his real name
I clicked on this and then realized if I didn’t turn back I would see things I would not be able to unsee... but I kept watching, this is very intriguing.
8:23 That "tranquilizer" gun prop is actually a PMI Sheridan II .68 cal paintball gun from way back in the day.
Another great video bro, I was wondering could you do a video on the Defiant Pupil from Zoo?
sure! adding that to the list now, thanks :)
Kevin Bacon is a national treasure, even when he's playing an invisible rapist.
Warframe lore would be awesome.
That would be awesome
Yes yes yes
The attention to detail in this movie is remarkable
not really. They used defib shock on the ape that was in asystole. You cant do that, it doesnt do anything. ( you cant shock flat line heart)
Shouldn't he be blind
Saw this on video back when it firs came out. And said the same thing out loud 'ruining' the movie for others. But yes he would be. To see the light has to reflect back and if light passes through you are blind.
Yea because light goes through him
@Erik Lerström why are we questioning sci-fi
Almost like you forgot that it's a science fiction movie
When H.G. Wells wrote the original book, scientific study was done and concluded a real invisible man would be blind due to the light not reflecting off anything.
he should be blind, because his retina can not absorb the light... lol
This was actually 1 of my favorite Kevin Bacon movies....... No idea why it was panned so hard, I truly thought it was fantastic!
The fact that the director was depressed because of the review saddens me. It was a well done film for what it sought out to do. It knew what it was and committed to it
His team was so annoying, I was rooting for Kevin Bacon
Me too
Same
Movie was a masterpiece in my opinion. Need more like these today.
Wow. This is actually a sad story.

Finally years later i found this movie, i remember being like 7 or 8 and watching this
If he couldn’t close his eyes, he may have gone mad from sleep deprivation
One of the Best if not The best invisible man stories
Sebastian looks like Wade Wilson mixed with Michael Myers.
Thanos making people disappear since late 2000s.

You mean early this came out in 2000
You know, if I were invisible, I think the worst think I'd do is be a stowaway. Or I'd sneak into people's houses and play video games with them.
Also, how do you see if your eyes, even your nerves are invisible? It works for something supernatural, but not for scientific things.
The worst thing I would do with invisibility is sneak into stores and steal stuff
Like these longer videos. Appreciate the work!
one thing I absolutely loved about this was the small detail of him needing an eye mask to sleep since the light went through his eyelids.
i remember seeing this as a kid and the rape (i think) scene really freaked me out

Interesting that the girl who plays Skye in 13 Reasons Why is Kevin's daughter.
I've watched about 90 percent of your content. crazy. Keep it comin'!

So this is what Thanos did I’m his early years, he worked with the guy who helped Magneto harness his powers.
Not just Thanos but also Cable.
The U.S. government has been trying to encapsulate cloaking technology since the 50s. They study mainly reptiles and octopi not only for their ability to fully blend into their environment but also their ability to replicate textural anomalies... pretty amazing stuff.
The real problem is always having to be naked to make any military strategy work. Any invisible armor would make invisibility redundant.

Poor Greg Grunberg.
In a panel I attended personally, both Casper Van Dien and Seth Gilliam confirmed that Paul Verhoeven was indeed one of the wackiest directors they worked with. Mr. Gilliam even did an impersonation of Verhoeven running and shouting behind the cameras as he directed a big shooting scene in Starship Troopers.
