    its frustrating as heck that so many x-2s didnt make it. The ones who did were mostly VIP qualifiers. Those 2 round byes weigh HEAVY on your tiebreakers

      What do you mean they weigh heavy on your tiebreakers? If they were such a negative, then why would many VIPs make it in?

    • @aaronbanuelos3169
      @aaronbanuelos3169 4 месяца назад

      @@Boristien405 x-1 will always place higher than x-2, but when it comes to tie breakers, x-2 s with a first 2 round bye will usually place higher than non VIPs. The bye wins are considered the best wins that you can have. It's like beating someone with an 11-0 record twice

    • @Boristien405
      @Boristien405 4 месяца назад

      @@aaronbanuelos3169 Are you sure? I always thought the bye wins were the worst wins you could get. Also, your losses weigh much heavier than your wins anyway b

    • @aaronbanuelos3169
      @aaronbanuelos3169 4 месяца назад

      @@Boristien405 not 1st and 2nd round bye wins. Those are the best wins. Also, it makes your entire tournament stronger because your subsequent opponents will have better records as well. An x-2 with a 2 round bye will have stronger opponents than someone who wins their first 2 rounds against people who will likely go x-3 drop.
      Tournament math is never 100% accurate. There are exceptions to the rule such as someone who gets the 2 round bye, loses 2 in a row, and then wins against opponents who drop after each match.
      He'll likely be placed lower than the x-2 who goes undefeated and then loses his last 2. I hope this makes sense.

      @Squiddys which one was the one using the six samurai deck? Because I am not familiar with the name of the person.

    • @Squiddys
      @Squiddys  4 месяца назад +1

      @@fabianbeteta5795 that was blake mccrary! an old school OG. he was up against nizar sarhan, anothar old school OG who won that YCS. basicly one of blakes freinds came up to ask nizar for a freindly dual after he won and nizar told him no. but blake didnt like the way nizar told his friend no he felt nizar was condiscending and elitist about it. so he whipped out his six sammuraoi deck and challanged nizar to a shadow game. but nizar said that blake would just sack with gateway of six and blake said he would take it out. (gate way was at 1... basicly at the time samurais had alrady been powarcrept and werent as good any more, were more ofa rogue deck and gateway was their auto win butten). so they played and on camara. blake ends up winning so the beef gets quashed. nizar apologises and shakes blakes hand the end. good times (this was 2011-2012ish)
