Wow he did alot if booze and illegal drug crap. But he still had the best roles of his acting career, Poltergeist, all the right moves, the killing feilds, played dad roles, must just be functioning person he tall dude.
If you take it one step at a time. Possibility is for sure. Like Bill Murray said baby steps. But you also have to work on it. Don't let your my confused you. One step at a time Johnny can
Right, because "Craig T. Nelson" would've totally blown his cover. HE released his anonymity to the world by being famous and sharing this recording. Stop being silly.
Anonymity is up to the individual. In Craig’s case, he decided carrying the message to other alcoholics was more important than his anonymity, so he released the recording.
@@SoberJames Well you should probably change the name of your cult shouldn’t you? I stopped drinking 15 months ago. I saw a lot in rehab I hated including a former pimp. He told me I was stupid and should put cotton in my mouth and shut up. An individual who advocates for the rape and murder of women doesn’t get to decide my life. I want sobriety and peace
Sounds like you’re the designer of your own misery. You forgot the second part of what he told you- take the cotton out of your ears. I guess you didn’t hear him. I’m sincerely happy you’ve stopped drinking, but we drink again until we stop talking so much and start to listen. It’s just the way it is. Until we start to listen to the suggestions of AA, we’re miserable even when we’re not drinking. That’s why they call it a dry drunk. You’re just a dry drunk, champ, I know it because I’ve been it. Anybody that calls AA a cult is not just missing meetings, you’re missing a dictionary 😆. You’re also missing the point.
I think you mean “come to hell,” actownsend7288. No thanks, I’ve been there, a few times. Besides, it sounds like you and your best thinking don’t need any more company.
Craig doesn't like to mention how poor his family was and that he needed food stamps and other public assistance as a child. All of his friends are right-wing Republicans, and the last thing they want to do is to help the poor, so now he denigrates the poor and the programs they need, but mostly in other public circles. I want nothing to do with his kind of sobriety.
Okay so I like this speech and yeah he had some good points but honestly I feel like the beginning was too full of War Stories and glorifying past drug use and I think that that could bring somebody down not saying his story wasn't valid I just feel he could have left some things out
Yeah, I kinda noticed that too Corbin. But, we have a saying, "principles before personalities." He's one of the more charismatic speakers, so he gets away with it I think.

Craig will be speaking and giving his testimony during a service called "Bring A Friend". For the time and date; and more info .... find "Gateway Church" on you tube or through their website. This was an eye opener message; I never knew this about Craig. Nelson ...but happy to hear he turned his life around and is now sober. I've always been a fan; loved him in "Coach" and movies. Wonderful actor ! Continued. ... prayers and strength to anyone out there who is struggling. Find ...your hope in Jesus. HE ....will ...never condemn you ...no matter what. But ....HE WILL ALWAYS ...LOVE + FORGIVE YOU.
Thanks Susan, well said
Sober James, I would like to know some of your favorite top AA speakers.
Some of my favorites are here on my channel. Here's some more good ones: www.rehab4addiction.co.uk/resources/best-aa-speeches-all-time
I meant some of the favorites from your channel. I'm one week sober today and they have really helped me. Thank you.
@@PnuttyBuddy I like Danny T and Stevie Ray. Danny's funny, Stevies humble. Eric C is pretty good too.

Thanks wolf!
@@SoberJames your welcome Bro 👍🏾💯
Is this from an AA meeting? What happened to anonymity? I hope he knows this is being shared on RUclips.
He agreed to be recorded, as every AA speaker on every AA speaker recording did.
@@SoberJames Thanks for the reply. I have never experienced that before.
@@maureenburke3312 experienced what, Maureen?

@@SoberJames I've never been in an AA meeting where it was recorded. The 12 traditions are read and #11 refers to what I questioned.
🙏
Wow he did alot if booze and illegal drug crap. But he still had the best roles of his acting career, Poltergeist, all the right moves, the killing feilds, played dad roles, must just be functioning person he tall dude.
I agree, good actor too!
Pacific Palisades group, Craig as well as Anthony Hopkins.
Cool
Do the 12 Traditions not matter anymore?
Mr. Incredible
If you take it one step at a time. Possibility is for sure. Like Bill Murray said baby steps. But you also have to work on it. Don't let your my confused you. One step at a time Johnny can
Well said @user-po5gw7dp1f 🙌

I didn't get the story about his dad's grave
Doesn't this break anonymity?
Nope
Yes it does break the speaker's anonymity when a last name is used.
Right, because "Craig T. Nelson" would've totally blown his cover.
HE released his anonymity to the world by being famous and sharing this recording. Stop being silly.
your dog is so dang cute XD looks very excited to be playing outside with you
Haha yeah she is

Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our Traditions!
So AA isn’t really living up the 2nd word. Why am I not surprised??
@@SoberJames go to hell
I think you mean “come to hell,” actownsend7288. No thanks, I’ve been there, a few times. Besides, it sounds like you and your best thinking don’t need any more company.
Done 6 days so far.
To each their own 🤘✨
Okay so I like this speech and yeah he had some good points but honestly I feel like the beginning was too full of War Stories and glorifying past drug use and I think that that could bring somebody down not saying his story wasn't valid I just feel he could have left some things out
Yeah, I kinda noticed that too Corbin. But, we have a saying, "principles before personalities."
He's one of the more charismatic speakers, so he gets away with it I think.
Funny!
I agree Pavel

Wait a minute ... that's the man who murdered Monk's wife!
Who knew?!
Craig's not too anonymous
And he knows it. His fame has the power to reach, IMO.
