Love this guy, he's honest, humble and really talented. People will say he's technically limited and that's true, but technical limitation is not a limitation when you have that much creativity flowing out of you and you honor your gift. Rock on Lenny!!

He is not a bad guitarist, he's a good rhythm player along with being a great singer, all round musician, songwriter and producer!! Very talented musician!!!!

The thing I like about Lenny the most is that he is a real rocker, he grew up in the era when Rock & Roll was still pure and hard hitting. Not watered down like it is today. So his association with the craft is sincere. He is an all round musician, Guitar, Drums, Piano, Writes, Arranges and Sings. When Led Zepplin was receiving their Kennedy Award who was one of the performers Lenny Kravitz enough said!!!
Lenny is a very underrated Guitarist in my opinion, it’s just the pureness that comes out of his music whenever he plays the guitar!!!

He is/ has become a rock legend. He's been inspired by the classics and made his own classics. I believe I'd dig writing a tune (like many would) with him

You may or may not like Mr Kravitz's music, which is completely acceptable (is your right as a human being to chose what you like and what you dont)... but you can't deny this guy is incredibly talented, specially as a musician... if you for one second ignore the lyrics and the looks (which is something most of haters actually hate) and listen to his insane guitar riffs and solos you'll now exactly what i'm talking about...Such a LEGEND...

+dx2800 talent is not based on speed and scalar knowledge. it's a talent to invent riffs and licks that are catchy and memorable too.

Everyone has to admit........He is one smooth cat. I don't know how pampered his life was as a kid, but he matured into a likable guy. You don't hear any dirty laundry on him and if there was, you know those vultures would be on it.

Lenny is an excellent musician , singer, and songwriter. He's not known for being a shredder, but he's a great rhythm player, which is more important than solos. He looks like karate legend Jim Kelly here .

damnit man i am so fucking sick of going to the comment section of every video and seeing some dickhead talking poorly of whomever/whatever the video is. First one i see on this one says Lenny's playing is meh not that good. Why the fuck can't people just be positive and not talk shit all the time. Lenny Kravitz is a very UNDERRATED musician and has his own cools as style. This video is awesome man the way he speaks of music and how he feels it is cool as hell. I have always liked Lenny Kravitz as a person and a musician/guitarist and seeing this video only furthered my admiration for him. How the hell can you talk shit about him as a person or MORE SO his quality of guitar playing? I started guitar lessons a few years ago and started to learn technical shit. Got a new teacher few weeks ago and the first thing he says is music is melody harmony and rhythm. That’s what you need. So to the people who are talking shit about his playing are just looking for something to shame just like everybody in this no attention span generation
Yeah I was also a wreck when i couldn't get my self a STRATOCASTER. I first got an really cool guitar buuuuut it did not stay in tune for to long and the body around the neck was cracked. So traded for an aria pro 2 explorer copy.. still not good enough sold and got a GnL guitar made by the inventor who made the strat. Even though it was just as good and maybe better than most strats buuutt it was not an STRATOCASTER!! LOL. Now ive got a couple SQUIRE GUITARS and they are really great..

Yup, and that says more about Europe knowing and appreciating true talent when they see it let alone hear it. Lenny in the beginning I thought was just one of those novelty acts that was gonna play itself out after a few years. Boy, was I glad for being dead wrong about him (especially after he came out with his career-defining '5' album). That brotha's for real and he really is getting better with age, kinda like where Tom Petty (RIP) was headed in that sense...

he was performing in my country (holland) quitte a lot , we being aged 16-22 in the early 90s smoked tons of weed and we knew he did too , he smoked on stage a lot ( legal here) so he won already half the crowd for being himself . he realy gave it all while performing . good times
When 5 came out Fly Away and his cover of The Guess Who's American Woman for the Austin Power's Movie were always being played on the radio here in the States back 20+ years ago
I used to associate this guy with the male pop singer thing, but he s actually a cool motherf**er. He can really get some killer tone out of that Les Paul, Hell, I m even kinda GASing for a goldtop right now. Plus, he digs the jazzmaster. Respect.

I once walked in a GC and asked how much my guitar was worth I was a bit younger They told me 1150.00 or so, I went to the same store 1 month later and asked them if they'd buy it from me they said sure 125.00 What????
