Thanks for uploading. This is a gem. They changed the tunings of the song, so Ozzy could sing it properly. And it worked. They should have played it more often like this.
7:54 Tony uses a phaser. He did that in the studio version but live he tried to limit the number of effects to minimise the electric interference noises ( normally he used only the modified Dallas Rangemaster, and in 1978 he started using a wahwah pedal live. He started using more effects in 1981 after the development of better isolated power sources ) so i never expected him to use a modulation effect live in the 70s
to my ears it sounds like he uses a modulation effect on his guitar most of the time after 74, you can hear it just subtle but it's there: it's a small little bit of chorus or Leslie speaker. he actually had a pretty big pedal board going into the Sabotage tour of 1975 and had the same one or a prototype at Cal jam 1974.
He's just singing an octave lower. Depending on how late this date was on the tour, and how much shit ozzy was on, I think it sounds quite realistic. I am impressed, plus they added a keyboard player. Very cool
Yeah they had Gerald 'Jezz' Woodroffe with them on keyboards on the Sabotage tour, the Technical Ecstasy album and tour (playing Mellotron, Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Clavinet, etc.). It's a real shame they didn't attempt to play more 'C# era' tunes in standard E during the late '70s.
One of my favorite Sabbath tracks. I didn't realize they played this on the technical ecstasy tour. I was born in that town ten years before. Ozzy sounds great and the arrangement sounds a little bit different but cool. I love it this is really something thanks for sharing made my day. Sabbath rules!
Saw them twice on the technical ecstasy tour Charlotte North Carolina and Fayetteville North Carolina Tony Iommi was playing great on that tour megalomania was not played much on that tour this is a real treat thank you
Obviously, Ozzy couldn't hit the higher notes as to why his octave range is lower. Still, a remarkable version of my top 5 favorite classic Sabbath songs from 1970-78.
Realmente está um pouco diferente, mas o Ozzy teve que cantar em um tom mais baixo. Todas as músicas do álbum Sabotage têm notas muito altas e cantá-las ao vivo, sem abaixar o tom, seria impossível para o Ozzy.
Tony Iommi was using his Gibson SG aka the monkey on the 1975 sabotage Tour on this technical ecstasy tour he's using his John Birch custom 24 fret SG the old 65 s g aka the monkey with the P90 pickups gave a lot of feedback big difference in his sound
I can't believe this, Megalomania on E tuning! But it's fairly good.

Best live version of this song I've ever heard. Ozzy became a better singer over the 70's.

pretty sure most tours both he and Geezer used wah wahs too from 1972 on, hear it all over the jams etc
This is AWESOME

One of Sabbaths best songs!!🍺Are you high ?? So Am I !!! Boogie👍👍
Whoa never heard this before! Especially in this tuning! Intriguing! Sounds like if Megalomania was a TE song instead of a Sabotage song!
The difference is Tony Iommi is using his John Birch 24 fret SG custom retired his 65s G with the P90 pickups on the sabotage tour
Cool to hear this way. In 1975 it was played in c Ozzy had amazing range.
Saw them twice on the technical ecstasy tour Charlotte North Carolina and Fayetteville North Carolina Tony Iommi was playing great on that tour megalomania was not played much on that tour this is a real treat thank you
Fooking amazing man, never heard this...thanks for posting!!! ,,\/, ,\/,,
Please come back : ( such great content
Love this version
Id love to get a CD of just Live Sabatoge songs.
Understandably Ozzy sings this song at a lower tempo because this song is really hard to sing high....unless you are high.

Nice change of pace.
Adoro essa música, mas essa versão tá estranha demais.

Not as good as Jersey. Iommi tuned way different. That’s why he sings differnt. Still Love it
Tony Iommi was using his Gibson SG aka the monkey on the 1975 sabotage Tour on this technical ecstasy tour he's using his John Birch custom 24 fret SG the old 65 s g aka the monkey with the P90 pickups gave a lot of feedback big difference in his sound
He doesn't sound good in Jersey imo, especially compared to the Chicago, Providence or long beach shows from 1975
what the hell?!
