We were 7th row Center at the Long Beach Arena in 1976 for this tour. I've seen Ozzy and Sabbath many times since, but that was my favorite show and this was my favorite song. Tony has stated he didn't care for Technical Ecstasy but it's still part of my regular rotation today. It's a massively underrated Sabbath recording.
This is essentially a PM for Judge Lazar: After I was dishonorably discharged from the US Navy's Nuclear Power program at 17 (for smoking marijuana) I got a job at Lazar & Associates, the largest interior construction contractor in the US. I " borrowed" one of their vans and brought 12 Black Sabbath fans down to Long Beach from Burbank to see that show. The side of the van was emblazoned with the word "Lazar" "This Roman Meal Bakery thought you'd like to know"
Nice lol. I started using Lazar as my handle 15 years back. Just randomly picked the name from a list to play a game called Red Orchestra in a "realism" clan. Basically a milsim group for a WWII game. Kind of just stuck since then.
@@JudgeLazar At 17 I was working for the billionaire Leonard Lazar who lived in Trousdale next to Gabe Kaplan. I have many stories to share, but I want to thank you for posting this . I've already listened to this 15 times in 48 hours!😀
Bought this album the week it came out back in the day ~ knew it was gonna really smoke balls cause Sabbath played 2 or 3 songs off their upcoming _Technical Ecstasy_ album a month earlier on the Sabotage tour, which also kicked ass. I always considered it worthy of being included with their celebrated first 6 or 7 efforts, which are all considered classics and greatest heavy metal albums of all time... At least now days they're recognized as such. I tell ya us Sabbath fans in the 70s never got any respect: we were constantly the object of ridicule, misplaced criticism, and derogatory remarks from morons who didn't know what the hell they were talking about ~ probably because they were pretty much banned on the radio, the music critics hated them all through the 70s, and rock & roll and guitar magazines avoided them like the plague ... No one is gonna tell me any different cause me and the psychedelic hippy freaks I hung out with back then directly experienced it. Every one who followed and praised them were considered "devil worshipers" & "demon possessed" back then. I swear I'd end up arguing with several people every week trying to explain to them that neither the band members nor the fans were "Satan worshipers." But don't get me wrong, I'd give anything to go back to the 70s ~ concerts cost $5.50 and we went to 2 or 3 heavy metal and jazz fusion shows every month all through the 70s. We understood we were living in a rock & roll renaissance period. Damn lucky to be born at just the right time.
Your.e correct! In the 70a it was very underground and couldn’t find a lick of airplay unless it was late at night maybe on an AOR station you’d hear Paranoid.
Yes.! Very true.! I was looked down for liking Sabbath.! But I was looked down even more for being a Kiss freak.! I got in actual fist fights over them.! The radio avoided them like the plague also.! I fought for my belefs.!! Rock On.
Right on! We bought this album around 1980, and wore a hole thru it. A completely unheralded piece. songs are completely awesome and not many people know except us diehard Sabbath fans!!
one of my fav sabbath performances. Love the sound of Geez's bass on this one. there's an audience/soundboard mix also that picks up Iommi's guitar a bit more.
Yeah I kind of like the more aggressive sound of his voice on some of the songs. I'm really big on Vol 4 through NSD. Speaking of Never Say Die, I just made this today. ruclips.net/video/o8LGyiHaTpI/видео.html
Thanks, I'm always glad when somebody hears these tracks. I don't know why this wasn't released as an official album. Aside from a few minor flaws the show is easily one of the best live shows. It was recorded for an FM radio broadcast, so it's possible that the radio station had the only recording. I can't really say I did much to clean up the audio. I just ran the original recording through the equalizer on windows media player. It was already a pretty good recording to begin with, it was just a little muffled. So I cleaned up a lot of the hissing and boosted a few things. This is the original recording without any kind of mastering done to it. ruclips.net/video/pCBGMJJj9F8/видео.html
I also made a couple music videos. Junior' Eyes is the only one I can confidently call finished, the rest need touch ups and some aren't even done at all. ruclips.net/video/o8LGyiHaTpI/видео.html
Thanks. I just finished and uploaded the Hammersmith Odeon show from 1978. I don't think it turned out as good as this set, but it's just that the source recording is better for Pittsburgh '76 ruclips.net/p/PLHPFY9tOr1Pj_LHrxks_xzfVWk5BrhC2f
The MP3s are still on dropbox if you want them. It's the bottom link in the description section. When you click the link there will be a download button on the top right of the page. It will give you a zip file with all the tracks.

all moveing parts and shockwave from never say die are 2 of sabbaths greatest songs
shock wave crushes.
By far, one of the most underrated tracks (and albums) of Sabbath!
the king never fails to amaze me
he is the greatest of any genre band or sound
he is the king
First time hearing this live pretty awesome
Usually rare songs like this aren't good quality, so this one is even better for it.
Really getting into sabbath
You've taken your first steps into a larger world.
BILL ward is such a great drummer; never gets alit if credit
I’m happy you’re hearing this specific recording. Long time sabbath fan. This one is a favorite
Thank you so much for splitting one of my all-time favorite Sabbath Boots into separate tracks. You've saved me lots of money, time, & work.
Perfection.
This kicks ass!
Oz sounds good here. Wanted to go to this tour but ended up waiting for Never Say Die! Tour.

Yeah, it started on Vol. 4. I like the vocals on Sabotage best, but that was hard on his voice!
That's a good mash-up! It fits well.Juniors' Eyes I mean.
Thanks, the whole idea for doing it came from just one line in the song.
This is KILLER SHIT!!!
Beautiful!!
Hell yeah!
Awesome
Hello! You did a great job making this public, thanks! Perhaps you message BS management, they may be interested in getting the unmixed tracks.

Judge Lazar OK thanks
This bassline should be illegal
who is playing the keyboard?
I assume Geoff Nicholls.
@@JudgeLazar from what i can find, Geoff only joined Black Sabbath in 1979, post-Ozzy
It's Jezz Woodroffe on keys
Tell me again why TE n NSD sucked 🤔🤔🤔
My brain is incapable of understanding that claim. I feel like my head would explode if I tried.
